11:49 AM JT-Cave is now known as jthornton
01:00 PM skunkworks: Ok - the stock debian installer also doesn't see the usb wireless dongle.
01:01 PM skunkworks: but - it looks like the stock xfce live image uses netowork-manager.
02:18 PM htasta: skunkworks: I agree that wicd is a bad choice for the default network manager as I wasn't able to create a new wired connection to my 7i76e without turning it on and connecting a wire.
02:19 PM htasta: also it doesn't automatically reconnect after I power cycle the board
02:24 PM alex_joni: howdy all
03:14 PM jthornton: howdy alex_joni
03:17 PM alex_joni: hey jthornton
03:17 PM alex_joni: are we well?
03:22 PM jthornton: yes, doing good... need to slow down work and play more
03:22 PM jthornton: how about you?
03:23 PM alex_joni: slowed down a bit in the last couple of months, starting to rev it up again ;)
03:28 PM jthornton: got 12 new chickens 20 weeks ago, some are laying already
03:31 PM jthornton: I'm automating an 1800's spoke lathe converted to make hammer handles
04:03 PM skunkworks: I got side tracked boring non-round holes...
04:13 PM andypugh: Wheras I apparently made a bad choice of default network manager.
04:13 PM andypugh: Not that anyone suggested a bteer one until it was too late.
04:17 PM skunkworks: andypugh: You did great.
04:17 PM skunkworks: This is the first time I had time to play with it.
04:19 PM skunkworks: People seem to like wicd because it is light weight.. I could not for the life of me get the wireless to see any networks
04:20 PM skunkworks: although the live boot connected just fine..
