01:03 AM memfrob: Hi, I noticed a problem with this page: http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Building_RTAI_5.2_Packages
01:06 AM memfrob: Actually a few.
01:06 AM memfrob: 1.) REBOOT (and check with uname -r that the new kernel is running: 4.14.132-rtai-amd64
01:06 AM memfrob: 4.14.132 should be 4.14.148
01:06 AM memfrob: 2.) Instead of building the debian kernel as root from inside /usr/src this should be done inside the user's home directory and they should use `make deb-pkg` instead.
01:06 AM memfrob: Using /usr/src as the build dir is generic documentation for all distros that I have in the README.INSTALL file
01:06 AM memfrob: Oh I see it now: "If the kernel boots you can now make kernel packages: sudo make deb-pkg" but sudo shouldn't be used in this case.
01:10 AM memfrob: 3.) Now that andypugh merged quite a bit of that patch in the linuxcnc_patches directory, the patch now requires 2 commits already applied to the LinuxCNC tree.
01:11 AM memfrob: In the documentation, it says to use the 2.8 branch, but if the user chooses the 2.7 branch, commit id 469d3cb9b767a48d149b4ab2a02fe49fb07eae26 is required (message: pci_8255: Change function names to avoid clash with v4.x kernel macros.)
01:27 AM memfrob: brb
01:55 AM memfrob: Another problem: "Configure to build with the currently running (should be RTAI) kernel."
01:55 AM memfrob: After it says to run ./autogen.sh it should say cd ..
01:56 AM memfrob: Otherwise it points to linuxcnc/src/debian
01:59 AM memfrob: And dead end: http://dpaste.com/04T4R7M
01:59 AM memfrob: Night all!
05:55 PM skunkworks: hmm - still not right. I just got a .006 folloing error. read.tmax is only .4ms and servo tmax is .66ms
05:55 PM skunkworks: what should I bet scoping?
06:03 PM skunkworks: lets see if I can trigger off packet error
06:27 PM skunkworks: and now it has been running for 30 minutes without an error
07:24 PM skunkworks: well it just ran quite a long time without any error
07:24 PM skunkworks: no lost packets either
07:25 PM skunkworks: *packet errors
07:31 PM skunkworks: see if I can catch something tomorrow
07:33 PM skunkworks: all that running and a f-error of .00005
