12:22 AM phillc54: linuxcnc-build: force build --branch=master 2000.docs
12:26 AM linuxcnc-build: The build has been queued, I'll give a shout when it starts
12:26 AM linuxcnc-build: build #4905 forced
12:26 AM linuxcnc-build: I'll give a shout when the build finishes
12:36 AM linuxcnc-build: Hey! build 2000.docs #4905 is complete: Warnings [8warnings compile]
12:36 AM linuxcnc-build: Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/2000.docs/builds/4905
12:45 PM Tom_itx is now known as Tom_L
03:13 PM mozmck: I'm looking at this bug: https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/issues/579
03:18 PM mozmck: emcAbortCleanup calls interp.on_abort() which is where the abort sub is called if there is one. This apparently gets called several places, so it winds up getting called 4 or so times when you exit.
03:19 PM andypugh: Yes, I think that is a real barrier to 2.8 release
03:19 PM andypugh: We can’t have uncommanded oves..
03:20 PM andypugh: mozmck: While you are here… Any thoughts on Curtis’ new HAL pin type?
03:21 PM mozmck: Here's the tail end of a session where I abort once, then abort again after it starts moving: https://pastebin.com/5Li7Jgq9
03:21 PM andypugh: I think it is a good fit for at least the Mesa smart-serial “stream’ datatype, and an enabler for the datapainter.
03:21 PM andypugh: https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/pull/630
03:21 PM mozmck: andypugh: I haven't had time to really look at it much yet. Sounds like it doesn't change much existing stuff though.
03:22 PM andypugh: Indeed, and it compiles cleanly.
03:22 PM andypugh: I seem no reason not to merge it.
03:22 PM mozmck: Yes, I've seen it - I'll try and look at it more later.
03:22 PM mozmck: If you don't then I probably won't either :-) What branch is the PR against?
03:26 PM mozmck: On bug 579 - it's in 2.7 as well which is where I'm testing. It appears that the last linear move that was in the readahead buffer is what is getting executed. My sample gcode is large! I hit stop somewhere in the 200's and then it jumps to somewhere in the 12000's or so. If I hit stop again it does not jump again. I have not yet let a move complete, but I just thought that maybe it will not continue after the one move?
03:27 PM mozmck: I wish all the debug info could be written to one log file and in order. Apparently piping stdout and stderr to a single file does not get things in chronological order.
03:42 PM mozmck: Hmm, looks like that is correct. The code is not just continuing, what is happening is the last line that readahead was on is getting queued and executed. It stops after that without hitting stop again.
03:46 PM andypugh: The PR is against Master.
03:46 PM andypugh: (which is another reason to think we can afford to merge it)
03:52 PM mozmck: Well I wouldn't see any reason not to merge it then.
