02:46 AM * TurBoss uploaded a video: Peek 28-10-2018 08-34.webm (340KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/v1/download/matrix.org/RWkeNVPfkNsUAoOwEfZYcbNF >
02:49 AM TurBoss: some programs doesn't run
02:49 AM TurBoss: is anyone having this issue?
06:11 AM TurBoss: debian 9 iso linuxcnc master
10:27 AM hazzy-m: Interesting ...
10:31 AM skunkworks: TurBoss: tool change related? maybe
10:31 AM hazzy-m: 3d chips runs fine here
10:32 AM hazzy-m: it does look like it hangs at the toolchange in the vid
10:36 AM TurBoss: Hmmm
10:53 AM TurBoss: I can't figure why
10:53 AM TurBoss: spindle doesn't turn
10:54 AM hazzy-m: Oh, maybe it's a spindle at speed problem
10:54 AM hazzy-m: There was a bug with that due to multi-spindle, but it should have been fixed
10:56 AM TurBoss: :|
10:56 AM TurBoss: I'm on master from buildbot
10:57 AM TurBoss: ohhhh
10:58 AM TurBoss: it runs if I "start from here" skiping T1M3
10:58 AM TurBoss: turns on the spindle and runs
11:00 AM TurBoss: *T1M&
11:00 AM TurBoss: **T1M6
11:01 AM hazzy-m: Ah, so that indicates it's a tool change problem
11:02 AM TurBoss: could be my config?
11:02 AM TurBoss: it should
11:03 AM hazzy-m: I guess it could be, maybe something in hal did not get updated by the update script
11:04 AM TurBoss: I'll create a nw config
11:08 AM TurBoss: no
11:08 AM TurBoss: same error with a new config
11:13 AM hazzy-m: Check the spindle pin names, specifically in the tool change section, it could be pcncconf has a bug
11:13 AM hazzy-m: HAL pins*
11:16 AM TurBoss: hazzy:
11:16 AM * TurBoss sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/v1/download/matrix.org/FSzfWXoFWZuJyEwVrQvOoDHM >
11:16 AM TurBoss: ohhh noooo
11:16 AM TurBoss: I DID
11:16 AM TurBoss: http://dpaste.com/3TP9P8F
11:16 AM TurBoss: sorry!!!
11:21 AM hazzy-m: I'm on mobile so its a little hard, but I don't see any manual tool change stuff in the HAL file
11:21 AM TurBoss: all default
11:21 AM TurBoss: no worries
11:21 AM TurBoss: I have to go
11:21 AM TurBoss: thanks
11:22 AM hazzy-m: did you check the box for manual toolchange when you made the config?
11:24 AM TurBoss: hmmm
11:25 AM TurBoss: no
11:25 AM TurBoss: just require home to allow MDI
11:38 AM skunkworks: hazzy-m: fusion doesn't scold me that I am running software video acceleration anymore..
11:40 AM hazzy-m: skunkworks: Nice!
11:41 AM hazzy-m: I need to set up F360 in a VM, it would be some much more convenient than switching HDDs, booting win10, and then waiting for hours for the updates to model one little part
11:45 AM skunkworks: right - I also have 10 on a second harddrive in this laptop but I don't like runing win10
11:46 AM * skunkworks hugs this laptop
11:47 AM skunkworks: it is usable in a vm using virtual video.. it is a pain though..
11:47 AM skunkworks: virtualbox does better iirc but doesn't play well with rt_preempt
11:48 AM skunkworks: hazzy-m: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iqdw16afA0
03:40 PM seb_kuzminsky: the jessie-rtpreempt-amd64 build vm seems pretty well horked
03:40 PM seb_kuzminsky: rebooting it now
03:46 PM TurBoss: jthornton, hazzy : I found that axis sim from default installation works fine
03:46 PM TurBoss: *AXIS
03:47 PM TurBoss: so must be somthing I missing
03:47 PM TurBoss: :_)
03:47 PM seb_kuzminsky: linuxcnc-build: force build --branch=master 0000.checkin
03:49 PM Tom_L: does that not echo here anymore?
04:25 PM seb_kuzminsky: Tom_L: yeah, it does not, since we turned off voice for unregistered users during the spam storm
04:27 PM Tom_L: ahh ok
04:39 PM TurBoss: oh I found my issue :)
04:39 PM TurBoss: withoutn the manual toolchange prompt t1M3 does nothing
04:40 PM TurBoss: *m6
04:42 PM Tom_L: :)
05:05 PM jepler: 11:14:38 <TurBoss> hazzy:
05:05 PM jepler: 11:14:39 * TurBoss sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/v1/download/matrix.org/FSzfWXoFWZuJyEwVrQvOoDHM >
05:06 PM jepler: hey not sure if you can configure "matrix" to not pull this s--t but it's not appropriate for IRC.
05:06 PM jepler: afk
06:05 PM jepler: on reflection my comment was not helpful. Instead, I should have said something more like: Just in case you're not aware, this is a thing that "matrix" is doing, and it doesn't fit well with the way I would prefer to use IRC.
06:40 PM skunkworks: what is up with the matrix?
07:11 PM hazzy-m: jepler (IRC): your comment was fine, and appreciated.
07:11 PM hazzy-m: I guess TurBoss's message of dismay immediately following did not make it sufficiently obvious that it was a user error...
07:11 PM hazzy-m: he accidentally pasted the entire content of the HAL file, rather then the paste bin link (which is an easy error and could happen with any IRC client).
07:11 PM hazzy-m: Rather than spam the chan with 288 lines of HAL code, matrix spared us that and used its own (rather crude) paste service.
07:13 PM hazzy-m: I agree it is not an ideal way to handle it, and that is an ugly link :)
11:02 PM seb_kuzminsky: linuxcnc-build: force build --branch=master 0000.checkin
