09:27 AM seb_kuzminsky: lame, sourceforge is bouncing my mails to the list again
09:29 AM seb_kuzminsky: pcw_home: i've given away and/or deployed all my 7i43s, but i tested the "surprising error message at load-time" problem with a 7i90
09:29 AM seb_kuzminsky: i see the same behavior you and tom easterday see: errors at load time, then normal successful operation after that (on 2.7.12)
09:29 AM seb_kuzminsky: the detection/probing code changed between 2.7.11 and 2.7.12, and the new code has this buggy(?)/surprising behavior, at least on 7i90
09:30 AM pcw_home: Yeah I think is was to fix a problem with 7I43/7I90 where if the config string was missing the driver didn't load
09:30 AM pcw_home: (and just failed silently)
09:31 AM seb_kuzminsky: that sounds right
10:04 AM cradek: seb_kuzminsky: what does the bounce say?
10:42 AM seb_kuzminsky: 550-Message rejected. Your IP (206.152.134.66) has been flagged for sending SPAM by the UCE Protect Level 1 blocklist.
10:42 AM seb_kuzminsky: i've got a dynamic ip from my isp, and sometimes i guess i get one that was previously assigned to someone infected by a spambot
10:42 AM seb_kuzminsky: that's my guess
10:48 AM cradek: that's sad but sending mail from dynamic IPs isn't a thing I've expected to work for at least 10 years. doesn't your isp provide a smtp smarthost to send through?
10:50 AM seb_kuzminsky: that *is* my isp's smarthost
10:52 AM cradek: 66.134.152.206.in-addr.arpaname = mail.onyx.syn-alias.com.
10:52 AM cradek: but then the thing about dynamic IPs is not important
10:52 AM seb_kuzminsky: you're right
10:52 AM cradek: your ISP has a problem and they need to get themself off the blocklist
10:52 AM seb_kuzminsky: smtp.centurylink.net. 159 IN CNAME mail.onyx.syn-alias.com.
10:53 AM seb_kuzminsky: "no, no, i said we need to get on the block*chain*"
10:53 AM cradek: ha
10:55 AM cradek: https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=blacklist%3a206.152.134.66&run=toolpage
10:57 AM seb_kuzminsky: based on previous interactions with centurylink, i'm not optimistic of reaching anyone who can (1) understand what i'm complaining about and (2) do anything about it
10:57 AM cradek: sorbs says 96 "Spam" entries [13:35:58 17 Apr 2018 GMT+00].
10:57 AM seb_kuzminsky: so i think i'll just wait for the bl entry to expire, and again consider moving to gmail for any mail i want to get through
10:58 AM cradek: soon gmail addresses are going to be the only ones that work, even though spam comes from them too
10:58 AM cradek: the internet sucks
10:58 AM hazzy-dev1 is now known as hazzy-dev
11:02 AM cradek: [UCE] Earliest Expiretime: 23.04.2018 01:00
02:22 PM seb_kuzminsky: i've been using sourceforge to help out the dxf2gcode folks... i'd managed to forget how horrible sf is
02:38 PM cradek: even worse than github?
02:39 PM seb_kuzminsky: heh
02:39 PM seb_kuzminsky: yeah
02:39 PM cradek: ouch
02:40 PM seb_kuzminsky: the ui is cluttered with junk and ads for "cloud storage" and "business voip", it's slow, at one point it lost track of my username and started calling me "userid-1956916"
02:40 PM cradek: haha
02:40 PM cradek: wow
02:40 PM seb_kuzminsky: it makes me appreciate github even more :-)
02:40 PM cradek: yeah, github hasn't gone the way of the terrible ads yet
02:41 PM seb_kuzminsky: maybe one day it will, and then we'll have to figure out what to do again
02:41 PM cradek: well, my adblocking is so consistent I probably wouldn't notice
02:41 PM seb_kuzminsky: debian.org went with a self-hosted gitlab instance
