08:52 AM stustev: I have cutsim (git and zip) running on Mint 17. I would not ask this here but I see no neophyte forums so why not ask the best. I see the requirement for the standalone RS274 interpreter compiled with AC.
08:54 AM stustev: I am assuming AC is 5 axis A head and C head but I could be wrong. My question is why would this be necessary. I have been looking at the source code for the last week and cannot understand why the standard interpreter for LinuxCNC would not handle this task.

08:56 AM stustev: I still haven't wrapped my head around the requests in Cutsim for other config files but this question has occupied my time and until I can wrap my head around this I probably won't go on to the next step.

09:04 AM stustev: I have used Vericut and NCCS IPV (inside NCL) and tested Eureka. I understand the need to match the kinematics to the machine to get the correct visual graphics.

09:25 AM jepler: I don't think anyone here is familiar with cutsim. I had to google it. (It's a cutting simulation written by awallin that uses rs274 as its gcode interpreter, as far as I've intuited so far)

01:29 PM cradek: stustev: the zip you sent me has a rs274 binary in it. Since rs274 is distributed under the GPL2 the person who distributed this zip to you is obliged to give you the corresponding source upon request. If you want to figure out what "built for AC" means you can do it that way.
