09:22 AM jepler: wow what a jerk
09:23 AM jepler: jthornton: I don't know what you're seeing but the change you made to getting-linuxcnc.txt seems suspicious to me. Packages won't be removed from wheezy. More than likely, what you saw is that on a 32-bit system only the package name linux-image-rt-686-pae exists. On a 64-bit system, only the -amd64 package name will exist.
09:42 AM skunkworks: I don't mean to be a jerk
09:47 AM skunkworks: I thought I ran into the same problem a while ago.. I couldn't install the rt_preempt kernel on wheezy because it didn't exist anymore
09:48 AM skunkworks: maybe it was stretch for a short period of time?
09:49 AM Tom_L: his name is rucas
10:05 AM jepler: https://packages.debian.org/wheezy/linux-image-rt-amd64 anyway debian says this package is in wheezy
10:05 AM jepler: I think it's jessie-backports where -rt kernels have appeared and disappeared, because that is the way of -backports
10:17 AM skunkworks: happy new year!
10:37 AM jthornton: jepler: for some reason it returns not found for 64 bit but 32 bit is ok
10:37 AM jthornton: I've tried for two mornings to get it to work
10:41 AM jthornton: I also did a search, I forget the syntax for linux-image and only 32bit showed up
11:33 AM seb_kuzminsky: jthornton: it's available on stretch, on an amd64 install
02:56 PM jthornton: seb_kuzminsky: I'll give that a try in the morning
