08:17 AM skunkworks: out for delivery...
11:31 AM skunkworks: jepler, http://electronicsam.com/images/matsuura/20170504_105600.jpg
11:32 AM jepler: skunkworks: exciting
11:34 AM skunkworks: so when you jog the z axis up - it seem to bump the Y into the axis limit. sound familiar? (right after homing
11:34 AM skunkworks: biab
11:36 AM pcw_home: I'm more excited by the cookie (diet day)
11:36 AM jepler: skunkworks: I don't think anything like that happens on mine
11:37 AM jepler: are you saying it hits a physical end of travel or something with the home/limit switch?
11:37 AM pcw_home: is that the Monoprice printer?
11:37 AM jepler: pcw_home: yeah
11:37 AM jepler: the $220 "version 2"
11:38 AM pcw_home: looks good for that price
11:52 AM jepler: (tbh I was eyeing that cookie too)
11:52 AM jepler: (skunkworks, bake us a batch of cookies!)
11:53 AM skunkworks: heh
11:53 AM skunkworks: I will play with it. I home it - when I jog the z axis up - the Y axis (or x) seems to move and it the limit.
11:54 AM skunkworks: hit
12:05 PM jepler: skunkworks: is it interfering with the printing process?
12:06 PM skunkworks: no - not yet
12:06 PM skunkworks: just sounded odd
12:06 PM skunkworks: still printing the cat ;)
12:09 PM jepler: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maneki-neko "A common belief is that the raised left paw brings in customers, while a right paw brings good luck and wealth,[4] although some believe the opposite, or that one paw is for luck and the other for wealth.[5]" original may be http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:923108
12:46 PM skunkworks: jepler, so - in your opinion - do you think with that bed (some sort of texture) and a glue stick should be fine for most things?
12:47 PM skunkworks: I didn't do anything and you can see the edges of the print are pulling up. It may fall off before it is done - I don't know
01:18 PM skunkworks: got to the neck and de-laminated.
01:18 PM skunkworks: still pretty amazing
01:26 PM jepler: skunkworks: That's a different bed topping than I started with, so it's hard to say
01:26 PM jepler: I'd at least use it until I ripped it up
01:27 PM jepler: we can talk more later, I have a meeting to go to I think
02:11 PM skunkworks: glue stick seems to have worked
02:12 PM Tom_itx: you just gotta share it with your kid
02:13 PM skunkworks: we have tons of glue sticks at home.. ;)
02:13 PM skunkworks: took a good search to find one here at work
02:13 PM Tom_itx: they use those at the vo-tech here, seem to work rather well
08:18 PM skunkworks: successful cat print
08:57 PM jepler: I should print another cat
08:57 PM skunkworks: it is pretty amazing.. I think a few of my coworkers are buying the printer
08:58 PM jepler: just based on that? you must be an excellent salesman.
09:00 PM skunkworks: http://electronicsam.com/images/matsuura/20170504_202641.jpg
09:00 PM skunkworks: I think just seeing it run
09:00 PM skunkworks: kinda magical if you haven't been exposed to it before
09:01 PM jepler: looks good!
09:02 PM skunkworks: I think I tweeked the print bed when I tried to get it off. But It seems to have bent back
09:02 PM skunkworks: I figured out heating it back up helps to get the print off. :)
09:04 PM skunkworks: stella liked it :)
09:05 PM jepler: you may have to learn some different tricks than me with that build surface
09:06 PM jepler: I don't even use a heated bed with PLA
09:06 PM jepler: I mostly use this for print removal https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VB1U886 but I don't care if I tear the layer of tape, and the surface under that is just aluminum that is fine unless I put a huge gouge in it
09:07 PM jepler: but you've got one of those high tech surfaces, just don't know exactly which one it's a copy of
11:12 PM Tom_itx: the guys at school use a flat chisel similar to this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Marshalltown-462-15072-1-5-inch-Chisel-Knife-Rosewood-Handle/118861399?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=1148&adid=22222222227051869299&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=148210252227&wl4=pla-262224585800&wl5=9024248&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=112562587&wl11=online&wl12=118861399&wl13=&veh=sem
