[08:33:32] <skunkworks> zlog,
[08:35:30] <skunkworks> pcw_home,
[08:36:40] <skunkworks> it is the hp i5 that I was playing with. I never setup the interfaces per the hm2_eth manual - so I did that this morning (originally set the ip using the gui)
[08:36:49] <skunkworks> So trying again
[09:35:13] <cradek> seb_kuzminsky: http://classicprogrammerpaintings.tumblr.com/
[09:40:20] <jepler> it's like devops reactions was forced to use only images from an art museum
[09:44:25] <archivist> is that page borked at the bottom for you as well, I get repeats, else so true
[09:45:41] <jepler> archivist: it seems to be an "infinite scroll" type page. since you habitually use an unusual browser with unusual settings, I'll guess it's related to that.
[09:47:27] <archivist> I call that a lazy load method, it only loads when you get there
[10:14:07] <cradek> I hate that because it utterly breaks the scrollbar
[10:22:59] <seb_kuzminsky> cradek knows all the best tumblrs
[10:23:22] <cradek> yes but I should only share a certain subset here
[10:28:50] <skunkworks> you are filtering? I don't know if I like that...
[10:29:05] <cradek> you'll have to trust me
[10:29:09] <cradek> it's for your own good
[10:35:27] <seb_kuzminsky> those are brilliant, thanks
[10:38:00] <cradek> my favorite is http://classicprogrammerpaintings.tumblr.com/post/142586036029
[10:38:42] <seb_kuzminsky> yeah rebase can be a bit surreal
[10:58:55] <seb_kuzminsky> i wonder what the Eschaton would have to say about git rebase
[11:01:11] <jepler> I liked classicprogrammerpaintings.tumblr.com/post/142650211884/two-developers-ask-forgiveness-of-technical-debt
[11:07:35] <seb_kuzminsky> yeah
[11:07:56] <seb_kuzminsky> "our field is barren, and we know it is because of our earlier sins"
[11:12:22] <jepler> "still life with horrific photoshop" https://www.toperfect.com/Still-Life-With-Fruit-Game-Vegetables-and-Live-Monkey-Squirrel-and-a-Cat-Classic-still-life.html
[11:13:34] <jepler> "software maintainence lifecycle" http://i0.wp.com/broadstrokes.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/sam-taylor-johnson-still-life-screenshots.jpg
[11:13:50] <seb_kuzminsky> heh
[11:18:34] <jepler> software dependencies continued to accumulate http://ww3.hdnux.com/photos/41/75/52/8903298/4/920x920.png
[11:19:06] <cradek> ha!
[11:32:14] <skunkworks> zlog
[14:24:52] <seb_kuzminsky> christ you guys, i linked devops reactions and programmer paintings on our internal irc-wannabe medium and you have distracted my whole office
[14:27:49] <cradek> ha, irc-wannabe medium
[16:27:22] <jepler> still running that old distro .. http://www.missionmedia.com/uploads/image/blog/Lascaux_painting.jpg
[16:32:17] <andypugh> What would be the guidelines about what HAL components go in the “User contributed components” bit of the Wiki, and which go in the main HAL components list?
[16:32:44] <jepler> the wiki "user contributed components" page was intended for components not in the linuxcnc source distribution.
[16:32:54] <andypugh> For example: https://github.com/sleepybishop/linuxcnc-mirror/blob/fedora-2.7/src/hal/drivers/max31855.comp
[16:32:54] <jepler> a component that is in the linuxcnc source distribution doesn't belong there
[16:33:02] <cradek> something like: probably widely useful, and not weird
[16:35:41] <jepler> conditions for adding a new component to the source tree would include that the author or committer says they will maintain the component
[16:35:47] <jepler> compatible license, etc
[16:37:57] <andypugh> So, before I ask the authir if he wants to put it in the project, does it look useful and not wierd to you?
[16:41:38] <cradek> useful yes! looks like a cool chip
[16:42:07] <cradek> not sure about weird. the output pins named something.#.in seem weird at first glance
[16:51:55] <andypugh> It is a chip that insists on telling you just how cool it is :-)
[16:54:27] <skunkworks> andypugh: http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net/threads/70204-Cut-my-first-functional-gear!?p=1043438#post1043438
[16:55:05] <skunkworks> You got name dropped
[17:03:19] <andypugh> So I did, and not, for a change, about the gear cutting thing. :-)
[17:17:41] <skunkworks> :)
