[00:44:26] <linuxcnc-build> build #189 of 4017.5.deb-wheezy-armhf is complete: Failure [4failed shell_3] Build details are at
http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/4017.5.deb-wheezy-armhf/builds/189 blamelist: Chris Morley <chrisinnanaimo@hotmail.com>
[08:45:07] <jepler> seb_kuzminsky: hmm sudo: sorry, you are not allowed to set the following environment variables: DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS
[09:02:55] <seb_kuzminsky> yeah, i just saw that
[09:03:00] <seb_kuzminsky> i fixed it and restarted the deb build
[09:03:06] <seb_kuzminsky> it should be ready in ~70 minutes
[09:03:41] <mozmck> I wonder if $1500 is a good price for a lagunmatic 250S? They say the only problem is a stripped drawbar.

[09:28:34] <skunkworks> so much easier now that I can ftp files from my phone to my website. Technology...

[09:29:05] <skunkworks> quintessential snot nosed kid..
[09:32:10] <jepler> just for a minute I was worried that was a pluto board, but I see now it's a mesa sserial something. phew.
[09:32:20] <skunkworks> heh
[09:34:09] <skunkworks> yes - the 7i73
[09:34:32] <skunkworks> pendant interface.

[09:52:43] <seb_kuzminsky> always good to have a shop helper
[09:54:31] <seb_kuzminsky> jepler: i dug a spare 80mm fan out of the junk pile, hooked it up to a spare ATX power supply, set it pointing at my u3, and now it's build rip and deb without a glitch
[09:54:59] <seb_kuzminsky> if it stays fixed i'll see about some more permanent active cooling solution for it
[10:00:12] <jepler> there is 5v available at one of the 2mm headers, if you have a 5v fan you could just solder direct to it for maximum jankiness
[10:04:20] <jepler> or of course use a sacrificial USB cable
[10:04:29] <jepler> mounting the fan well may be the bigger issue
[10:04:39] <seb_kuzminsky> there's an itty bitty fan header on the u3, bit i'd want to look up the current rating before i hook it up to this fan i got
[10:04:48] <seb_kuzminsky> it's bigger in every dimension than the whole u3
[10:29:14] <mozmck> seb_kuzminsky: just put the u3 in the freezer :-)
[10:43:39] <seb_kuzminsky> only push commits when it's snowing in boulder
[10:43:59] <seb_kuzminsky> cradek: could you add a pre-receive hook to check the weather?
[10:57:26] <ikcalB> seb_kuzminsky: tnx very much, am going to test that & report back!
[14:32:03] <seb_kuzminsky> ikcalB: sure thing :-)
[14:34:00] <seb_kuzminsky> ok, armhf uspace debs are a thing now
[14:39:47] <jepler> yay, a box ticked
[14:58:33] <seb_kuzminsky> until my u3 catches on fire and burns my garage down
[14:58:42] <seb_kuzminsky> with my stupid little fan fanning the flames

[17:50:58] <CaptHindsight> jepler: how did video behave on your u3 when running Axis?
[17:52:26] <CaptHindsight> smooth as silk, choppy only when the windows was moved, like Cape Horn during a storm?
[18:58:21] <jepler> CaptHindsight: I only load simple part programs. axis only gets software acceleration on u3.
[18:58:42] <jepler> axis / gremlin need to be rewritten for egl + opengl es 2.0 instead of glx + opengl 1.x
[19:00:02] <jepler> http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?MinimumSoftwareVersions this will be compatible with all our supported platforms for master branch, and actually get HW acceleration on most of the SBCs (at least with the binary blobs in use)
[19:04:52] <CaptHindsight> we went back to look at the performance on the mali in the old cubieboard
[19:05:14] <CaptHindsight> it runs axis just fine until you move the window
[19:05:26] <CaptHindsight> it renders the simulation just fine
[19:06:02] <CaptHindsight> until you move the window
[21:14:29] <jepler> CaptHindsight: yes I think moving windows was also not great on u3. I forget if it was bad for latency, or just not fast. but I know I turned off "solid window moves" in my window manager, back to the 1990s for me
