[08:19:01] <jthornton> can we change the text on the signup email to be correct and tell the newbee that his/her first posts are moderated?
[08:24:19] <jthornton> http://paste.ubuntu.com/15372502/
[08:26:38] <jthornton> well geeze a large green box shows up and tells them the post is moderated... maybe some electro shock therapy to get their attention
[08:32:30] <jthornton> it would still be better to spell it out in the two emails a new user gets
[08:36:44] <jthornton> ah ha I found it, there is an option to override the form letter that is used
[08:51:19] <jthornton> now that I understand how that works I'd like to suggest this http://paste.ubuntu.com/15372744/ as the pending email
[09:19:33] <jepler> it's worth a try
[09:19:42] <jepler> .. go ahead
[09:32:35] <jthornton> ok, I'll try that and then register again to test
[09:42:46] <jthornton> one little tweak to remove the extra NOTE: which I didn't know was automatically added to the pending message http://paste.ubuntu.com/15373218/
[09:54:11] <jthornton> that is much better and pedantic
[10:44:10] <jepler> Yay, Lee won the 4th game against alphago
[11:18:27] <KGB-linuxcnc> 03Jeff Epler 052.7 737a394 06linuxcnc 10docs/src/remap/remap.txt docs: remove outdated information * 14http://git.linuxcnc.org/?p=linuxcnc.git;a=commitdiff;h=737a394
[13:17:49] <skunkworks> hooked up an mpg to the 7i73. works awesome
[13:18:03] <skunkworks> why is there an index enable input?
[13:18:25] <skunkworks> And I see it isn't a X4 encoder. cool
[13:19:10] <pcw_home> I think Andy added a simulated index so the sserial encoder could be used for spindles
[13:19:25] <skunkworks> ooh -- really? neat
[13:19:58] <skunkworks> That should probably be added to all encoder counters
[13:20:08] <skunkworks> (with some way to enable it...)
[13:20:11] <pcw_home> its not terribly fast bust faster than a servo thread (I think its sampled at 50 KHz)
[13:20:49] <pcw_home> yeah it would allow rigid tapping with just A/B
[13:21:24] <skunkworks> right - just not alignments through reboots
[13:21:42] <skunkworks> does the reset then reset the index position?
[13:21:52] <pcw_home> Right, It would forget the absolute location on linuxcnc restarts
[13:22:29] <pcw_home> not sure, Ive never actually messed with it
[13:22:33] <skunkworks> famous last words - but this conversion should be pretty easy
[13:22:53] <skunkworks> (no real hadware issues that need fixing)
[13:23:21] <pcw_home> Thats often where things get sticky
[13:24:32] <pcw_home> default sserial MPG encoders are 1X mode but can do step/dir 4x, 2x etc
[13:26:12] <pcw_home> very poorly documented though
[14:21:53] <andypugh> A user reports that wheezy scratch-rt in the repositories is giving 403. I am pretty sure that I didn’t get that on Friday.
[15:05:05] <cmorley> skunkworks: if you are using the 7i73 are you going to add a keyboard? If you use panelui let me know how it goes - I know you tested the demo config.
[15:16:57] <cmorley> jepler: It seems from a little testing the change in pncconf for the 5i24 is fine. I can't test with the actual card but I used dummy firmware looks fine. Candidate for 2.7. Thanks
[15:27:24] <jepler> cmorley: thanks again for testing. I'll do the git and github parts
[15:27:43] <cmorley> thanks for that.

[18:23:10] <andypugh> jepler: Is it a different incantation to use halcompile in uspace? https://forum.linuxcnc.org/forum/38-general-linuxcnc-questions/30567-uspace#71487
[19:03:33] <skunkworks> cmorley: I don't know yet - probably not (still going to have a mouse and keyboard.. atleast for now
[19:04:36] <KGB-linuxcnc> 03Dewey Garrett 05joints_axes12 ed0a2bd 06linuxcnc 10(35 files in 23 dirs) tests/ use LIB:halfiles instead of symlinks (JA) * 14http://git.linuxcnc.org/?p=linuxcnc.git;a=commitdiff;h=ed0a2bd
[19:18:19] <andypugh> JT-Shop: Have you forgotten that I _did_ experience hundreds of spammers in one day, and handled about half of them. In fact wasn’t the record more than 1000?
[20:58:32] <jepler> skunkworks: the package halcompile comes from is called linuxcnc-uspace-dev
[20:58:40] <jepler> er andypugh: ^^
