[02:01:32] <linuxcnc-build_> build #3527 of 0000.checkin is complete: Failure [4failed] Build details are at http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buildbot/builders/0000.checkin/builds/3527 blamelist: Jeff Epler <jepler@unpythonic.net>
[08:00:51] <jepler> Running test: /home/buildslave/emc2-buildbot/jessie-amd64/rip-jessie-amd64/build/tests/loadrt.1
[08:00:54] <jepler> halrun: Realtime already running. Use 'halrun -U' to stop existing realtime session.
[08:00:58] <jepler> *** /home/buildslave/emc2-buildbot/jessie-amd64/rip-jessie-amd64/build/tests/loadrt.1: FAIL: test run exited with 1
[11:33:56] <KGB-linuxcnc> 03Sebastian Kuzminsky 052.7 4a24029 06linuxcnc 10src/hal/user_comps/gs2_vfd.c Added an initialize option to gs2_vfd.c so it can be initialized at will. * 14http://git.linuxcnc.org/?p=linuxcnc.git;a=commitdiff;h=4a24029
[11:35:45] <KGB-linuxcnc> 052.7-tom-easterday-gs2 0bd23b2 06linuxcnc 04. branch deleted * 14http://git.linuxcnc.org/?p=linuxcnc.git;a=commitdiff;h=0bd23b2
[12:05:46] <seb_kuzm1nsky> jepler: the loadrt.1 test runs right after the "linuxcncrsh" test
[12:06:13] <seb_kuzm1nsky> the linuxcncrsh test is one of the "test.sh" kinds of tests, and it runs the "linuxcnc" launcher script inside of it
[12:06:57] <seb_kuzm1nsky> when the .ini [DISPLAY]DISPLAY program exits at the end of the test, the "linuxcnc" launcher script tries to clean up by killing all the things it started...
[12:07:46] <seb_kuzminsky> the failure is on a uspace machine, so there's an implicit rtapi_app getting started, and the "linuxcnc" launcher doesn't explicitly kill it or wait for it
[12:08:01] <seb_kuzminsky> maybe there's an implicit kill/wait somewhere that i havent found yet
[12:08:52] <seb_kuzminsky> (oh, and "rtapi_app is still running" is one of the few things that can cause "halrun" to fail at startup with the "halrun: Realtime already running." error)

[15:04:14] <skunksleep> https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/mach1mach2cnc/conversations/messages/149060
[15:05:50] <skunksleep> Because Tormach isn't a bunch of geeks?
[15:06:38] <malcom2073> Eh, still need to be a geek to get it up and running on an on-tormach. It's like calling Android users Linux users
[15:06:44] <malcom2073> on a non-tormach*
[15:09:13] <seb_kuzminsky> tormach added a gui that's more accessible to non-geeks, and that's valuable
[15:09:36] <seb_kuzminsky> i watched the "making your first part" video with rogge, and the conversational machining stuff in path pilot really looks easy to use
[15:10:10] <malcom2073> Yeah, means that if a geek sets it up, a non-geek can actually use it, which is a big step
[15:11:59] <seb_kuzminsky> heh yeah
[15:12:36] <skunksleep> https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/mach1mach2cnc/conversations/messages/149064
[15:13:25] <malcom2073> I'm sure he knows much better than Tormach does about their machines, he sounds very knowlegable
[16:11:26] <skunksleep> I got disconnected.. I said he sounded like an ultimate fan boy... (And I never sound like that) :)
[16:15:22] <pcw_home> The Mach4 camp seems a bit touchy right now , sure you want to poke at them?
[16:24:51] <skunksleep> Is it trolling when you have facts? :)
[16:32:51] <skunksleep> pcw_home: when do you expect to have the 7i76?
[16:35:40] <pcw_home> building now, will still be a while (but should have 7I76e on Monday)
[16:38:02] <pcw_home> trying to get the 7I96 buildable so theres a lower cost alternative to the 7I76
[16:39:07] <pcw_home> alternative to the 7I76E I mean
[16:39:17] <skunksleep> Cool
[16:39:46] <skunksleep> What is the difference?
[16:41:52] <pcw_home> simpler I/O, smaller FPGA
[16:41:53] <pcw_home> 11 3-24V inputs with common 6 floating outputs (24V 2A)
[16:42:56] <pcw_home> only one 26 pin header expension port
[16:43:20] <pcw_home> I think $119 qty1
[16:47:29] <skunksleep> pcw_home: very neat
[16:48:21] <pcw_home> the isolated outputs will require some driver support (new GPIO function = AC out)
[16:49:20] <pcw_home> (gated AC out I shoud say)
[16:49:51] <pcw_home> (for the transformer --> MOSFET isolation)
[16:49:56] <skunksleep> Interesting
[16:50:16] <pcw_home> thats how the 7I37 works
[16:51:27] <pcw_home> but the 7I37 has gates/osc on board to generate the gated AC drive, which the FPGA can do itself
[16:53:02] <pcw_home> so basically gated 5 MHz AC --> ethernet transformer --> voltage doubler --> LED --> MOSFET gate with pulldown

[20:04:41] <jepler> pcw: gated AC will be a new mode of a GPIO, like open drain is now?
[20:05:44] <jepler> er collector, whichever
[20:14:45] <pcw_home> Yeah (with a aux reg for frequency setting)
