Back
[00:00:23] <andypugh> OK, nearly 6am here, and I have stuff to do tomorrow, I will have to stop and get back to this
[00:03:57] <memleak> ok
[00:04:21] <andypugh> It feels close
[00:04:59] <andypugh> Though basically nothing of the ..post patch would take
[04:31:41] <memleak> --with-python= configure option does not affect src/po/fixpaths.py
[04:31:47] <memleak> ^bug
[04:32:15] <memleak> #!/usr/bin/env python is a problem if system default is python 3
[04:32:46] <memleak> syntax error on last line of that file (19)
[09:46:04] <norbert> How can I set a parameter, lets say #1000 from my python handler file, to be able to get the information from a subroutine?
[20:26:23] <cradek> what would it take to fix pncconf+5i25 in master so you don't have to dig through the web forum to make it work?
[20:55:58] <pcw_home> all the xml files?
[21:20:01] <cradek> where do they need to get installed? if it's just a matter of packaging, I should be able to help
[21:32:58] <pcw_home> pncconf looks for them in the normal firmware path
[21:33:28] <cradek> ah so they need to be in the hm2 deb, not the linuxcnc deb?
[21:33:43] <cradek> er - but the 5i25 doesn't need any hm2 deb does it
[21:33:57] <cradek> is this why it's hard?
[21:37:13] <pcw_home> I guess (that and the fact the the xml files were made by the firmware build script)
[21:39:21] <pcw_home> no reason not to include the 5i25 bitfiles along with the xml files either
[21:39:32] <pcw_home> (other than size)
[21:40:03] <cradek> since it's an optional package, a little more size isn't very important
[21:40:26] <seb_kuzminsky> i think we need a new vhdl push from you (peter), and we probably need updates to the debian packaging of the hostmot2 firmwares, then the buildbot should produced debs for us
[21:40:48] <pcw_home> and even xml files :-)
[21:41:27] <cradek> yay, seb appears at just the right time
[21:41:42] <cradek> I was just getting a clone, and would have tried ... something ... with it
[21:41:48] * seb_kuzminsky engages cloaking device
[21:41:54] <cradek> noooo
[21:42:37] <seb_kuzminsky> time to go read books to my kids - be back in a bit
[21:43:00] <pcw_home> I think Chris M made the first 5i25 xml files by hand
[21:43:09] <pcw_home> bye Seb
[21:43:39] <cradek> do you know what vhdl update he means?
[21:43:54] <cradek> (we set up your push access didn't we?)
[21:44:32] <pcw_home> Yes but I have completely forgotten about it
[21:45:26] <pcw_home> maybe Seb can walk me through it when we both have a few minute free
[21:54:00] <cmorley> Ironicly
[21:54:54] <cmorley> I just started coding pncconf to have the 5i25 data internally. I would prefer it from the hostmot2 repo though.
[22:01:49] <pcw_home> I know I keep repeating this, but
[22:01:50] <pcw_home> If pncconf parsed the IDROM as an option it could get by
[22:01:52] <pcw_home> without the XML files (if they were missing)
[22:03:15] <cradek> I strongly support whichever is the best solution :-)
[22:08:12] <pcw_home> well best is hard and involves time travel
[22:08:45] * Tom_itx gets out the delorian
[22:09:12] <cradek> I hate those "step 1, invent a time machine" problems
[22:09:23] <skunkworks_> No, No, No... Tardis
[22:10:28] <skunkworks_> everyone knows the delorian wasn't a real time machine. Flux capacitor? Really? they didn't even pronounce gigawatts right..
[22:11:03] <Tom_itx> details...
[22:24:48] <pcw_home> As long as you have a config that triggers the watchdog bug it seems that
[22:24:49] <pcw_home> hm2_eth is pretty stable (its been up 24/14 with no glitches)
[22:25:02] <pcw_home> (that doesnt trigger)
[22:26:54] <pcw_home> Preemt_RT seems stable as well on the D525 (its not terribly stable on this machine for some reason)
