[08:06:37] <skunkworks> cradek, what do you think of the lookahead proposal?
[08:17:15] <cradek> I think the guy knows what he's talking about
[08:18:20] <cradek> wish he'd show up here one of these days
[08:19:34] <cradek> I think it's interesting he's considering keeping the blend style we already have
[08:19:44] <cradek> I haven't seen anyone else suggest that
[08:20:28] <cradek> well for that matter I haven't seen anyone else really look into solving the problem at all...
[08:20:37] <cradek> so I hope he gives it a shot
[08:34:07] <skunkworks> It seems promising...
[08:34:56] <skunkworks> so - keep the same blend style but able to accellerate over more than 1 segment?
[08:36:40] <cradek> yeah I think that's it - I haven't fully understood his paper yet
[08:40:22] <cradek> there was too much going on this weekend to sit down and actually read it for content
[08:53:58] <skunkworks> I read it. (but that doesn't help anyone) ;)
[08:54:50] <archivist> I didnt read it, maths...I hate it
[08:57:39] <archivist> I did some curve fitting some years ago, if you choose the wrong method it wont fit well, I had to use more than one method depending on the curve
[08:57:40] <skunkworks> I used to like maths..
[08:58:18] <KimK> This was on the mailing list? (I'm way behind on the mailing list again.)
[09:00:00] <archivist> yes title is [Emc-developers] Proposing a Lookahead implementation for the EMC2 module
[11:59:20] <IchGuckLive> micges: thanks for the hint yesterday it works perfect
[11:59:59] <IchGuckLive> i made a german vid if you folks think it is good to go english 2 with it i will do also
[12:00:09] <IchGuckLive> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Akhx4gL-Vlo
[12:04:11] <jepler> mhaberler: you can't memset _setup because it is not POD
[12:08:42] <IchGuckLive> jepler: mh is not here
[12:08:50] <jepler> I think he generally reads the logs
[12:08:55] <IchGuckLive> i 2
[12:09:11] <IchGuckLive> is his hemap now in the 2.5.3
[12:09:17] <IchGuckLive> remap
[12:09:26] <jepler> I don't think so
[12:09:40] <IchGuckLive> its so usefull on Mcode larger then 200
[12:12:52] <IchGuckLive> jep is ther a consider on how to get a factor userbased calculadet to the properties
[12:13:38] <IchGuckLive> it woudt be good as people almost lots of do simalar jabs at the time and they may now there mashine time factor
[14:49:25] <seb_kuzminsky> linuxcnc-build: force build --branch=master checkin
[14:49:26] <linuxcnc-build> build #1350 forced
[14:49:26] <linuxcnc-build> I'll give a shout when the build finishes
[14:51:49] <skunkworks_> seb_kuzminsky, is your parents house a total loss?
[14:54:33] <seb_kuzminsky> no, just the basement
[14:54:45] <skunkworks_> oh good
[14:54:47] <seb_kuzminsky> the ground floor it fine and currently inhabited by my parents
[14:54:49] <skunkworks_> how about the cabin?
[14:55:32] <seb_kuzminsky> you mean my mountian house? same deal - the basement's stripped down to the concrete, the upper floor is fine
[14:56:17] <skunkworks_> good
[14:56:38] <seb_kuzminsky> the city was out in my neighborhood trying to clear some blocked under-ground drainage pipes, and accidentally drilled into the gas main, so we got evacuated again last night
[14:56:43] <seb_kuzminsky> whee!
[14:56:49] <seb_kuzminsky> but no fireballs, so there's that, i guess
[14:56:56] <cradek> yikes, how much of that work did you have to do yourself?
[14:56:57] <skunkworks_> wow
[14:57:23] <seb_kuzminsky> i did most of the demolition at the mountain house, and maybe 25% at my parents place
[14:57:36] <seb_kuzminsky> they got lots of help from a volunteer group called the boulder mudslingers
[14:58:10] <seb_kuzminsky> just a bunch of folks who show up with saws & shovels and help people out, very cool grass roots organization
[14:58:42] <seb_kuzminsky> i spent one day this weekend with my family at a friend's place in Lyons, that place got hit pretty bad
[14:58:52] <seb_kuzminsky> whole town's without water, gas, or electricity
[14:59:07] <cradek> wow, still?
[14:59:14] <seb_kuzminsky> whole neighborhoods washed away: a plain of mud and debris where the houses & cars were
[14:59:20] <seb_kuzminsky> yeah, it's a mess
[14:59:27] <cradek> those poor folks :-(
[14:59:35] <seb_kuzminsky> the national guard was out in force
[14:59:51] <cradek> hope they all have suitable insurance and can rebuild.
[14:59:54] <seb_kuzminsky> lots of heavy equipment trying to rebuild the road that goes up through lyons to estes park
[15:00:44] <seb_kuzminsky> without that road, estes will be unreachable except by air starting in a few weeks, the only surviving road in or out of estes goes over the continental divide and is not passable in the winter due to snow
[15:01:47] <seb_kuzminsky> i bet lots of folks in lyons had flood insurance, and fema's being pretty helpful too (though not for us, only for houses that are the primary residence of the owner)
[15:02:15] <seb_kuzminsky> september did not go at all as i had planned!
[15:02:30] <cradek> no I bet not.
[15:03:10] <cradek> I kind of laugh about listening to you guys say "It usually doesn't rain like this..." on Monday before we left
[15:03:37] <seb_kuzminsky> heh yeah
[15:04:41] <cradek> so fema doesn't do anything to help people who rent?
[15:04:56] <seb_kuzminsky> they help the renters but not the landlords
[15:05:04] <cradek> ah ok
[15:05:10] <seb_kuzminsky> <--- first world problem
