01:55 AM CaptHindsight: wasted more time on the Rpi's and Orange Pi's
01:55 AM CaptHindsight: need too much work to be really stable
01:56 AM TurBoss: just got a pi
01:56 AM TurBoss: need the oficial adaptor
01:56 AM CaptHindsight: power?
01:56 AM TurBoss: power issues give bad latency
01:57 AM CaptHindsight: power, temp, and kernel :)
01:57 AM TurBoss: yes as soon the power icon is shown latency excursions go to infinite
01:57 AM CaptHindsight: cpu speed throttling
01:57 AM TurBoss: added a heatsink
01:58 AM CaptHindsight: video drivers also have issues
01:58 AM TurBoss: I think I need a bigger oner
01:58 AM CaptHindsight: killed all hardware rendering and latency was ~50,000 without video payback
01:59 AM TurBoss: I also need a fan
02:00 AM CaptHindsight: Orange pi has driver issues and USB overlay isues
02:02 AM CaptHindsight: Rpi4 seems stable at 4K at 30fps
02:03 AM CaptHindsight: still flakey at 50 and 60fps no matter what cables are used
02:04 AM CaptHindsight: all the ARM distros are flakey so far except for Gentoo
02:05 AM CaptHindsight: https://github.com/sakaki-/gentoo-on-rpi-64bit stable so far
02:06 AM CaptHindsight: the ARM boards are just not as stable as just about any x86 PC
02:07 AM CaptHindsight: TurBoss: https://www.elektor.com/pimoroni-aluminium-heatsink-case-for-raspberry-pi-4
02:08 AM CaptHindsight: the tiny cases with fans just get clogged
02:08 AM CaptHindsight: ^^ keeps it cool enough to overclock to 2GHz

01:53 PM Joco[m]: <TurBoss "https://github.com/TurBoss/sg_cn"> nice. I've been looking into programmed moves for the table instead of an arbitrary oscilation. Not too sure which method is better or worse. I think if your machine has existing hydrualics then your sim makes absolute sense. I'm looking at a full manual to semi auto with programmed control over table, z and potentially Y.
