05:03 AM JT-Cave: morning
06:37 AM TurBoss: hello
06:47 AM TurBoss: are this ini valid settings ?
06:47 AM TurBoss: ```
06:47 AM * TurBoss sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/azDzQYMTmLIbSHQcxwHXomNm/message.txt >
06:54 AM JT[m]: looks valid to me
06:57 AM TurBoss: it doesn't show any pins on hal show
06:57 AM TurBoss: :/
06:58 AM JT-Cave: the mdi commands?
06:58 AM TurBoss: the halui section doesn't work
06:58 AM TurBoss: yup
06:59 AM JT-Cave: do you see this halui.mdi-command-00
07:00 AM TurBoss: nop
07:01 AM JT-Cave: bbib time to be a chicken tender
09:25 AM hazzy-m: TurBoss: is the halui component loaded?
09:26 AM hazzy-m: Need to add to your main HAL file
11:34 AM TurBoss: oh great
11:45 AM TurBoss: <hazzy-m "Need to add to your main HAL fil"> how i can do this?
11:45 AM TurBoss: o/
11:49 AM JT-Cave is now known as jthornton
12:00 PM TurBoss: ```
12:00 PM TurBoss: loadusr halui -ini /path/to/inifile.ini
12:00 PM TurBoss: ```
12:00 PM TurBoss: like this?
12:06 PM TurBoss: got this error
12:06 PM TurBoss: ```
12:06 PM TurBoss: <commandline>:0: halui exited without becoming ready
02:01 PM TurBoss: ok figured
02:01 PM TurBoss: wrong kinematics made halui crash
02:10 PM TurBoss: i need my own kinematics lol

05:16 PM JT-Shop: is (axis, stop) persistent?
05:20 PM JT-Shop: (AXIS,stop) Stops the preview from here to the end of the file.
05:20 PM JT-Shop: is our behavior the same?
05:21 PM JT-Shop: reason I ask is I lost the backplot...
05:21 PM JT-Shop: (AXIS,hide) Stops the preview (must be first)
05:21 PM JT-Shop: (AXIS,show) Resumes the preview (must follow a hide)
05:23 PM TurBoss: JT-Shop: did you lost the machine boundaries also?
05:24 PM TurBoss: maybe it has to do with the focus to part changes....
05:30 PM JT-Shop: yes, I think so
05:31 PM roguish[m]: JT-Shop: hey, reading back.. I see you got the probing routine to work. congrats. are you probing an inside or an outside? i probed an outside and it was fine.
05:31 PM JT-Shop: pretty much lost all backplot after issuing (axis, stop)
05:32 PM JT-Shop: inside but the G91 was wrong it needed to be G90
05:32 PM roguish[m]: ok. was that the only change for the inside?
05:32 PM JT-Shop: it was not a change for inside it was to stop run away
05:33 PM roguish[m]: ok. nice to know.
05:33 PM JT-Shop: the G0 move would be actual position not just an incremental move
05:33 PM JT-Shop: so it would run away
05:33 PM roguish[m]: new to me laptop today. loading solidworks and other stuff.
05:34 PM JT-Shop: I wish SW was not an ass and allow you to have a copy on the desktop and one on the laptop
05:34 PM JT-Shop: dried mealworm time!
05:34 PM roguish[m]: yeah, it's a PITA. always having to move the license.
05:35 PM roguish[m]: go feed the girls...
05:46 PM JT-Shop: so I probed the part but the profile is 1/2 the probe ball small... I guess I need to use cutter comp to cut my hole out???
05:50 PM roguish[m]: that should work. or read the output file into a cad prog and draw it....
05:52 PM roguish[m]: i've definitely found cutter comp to be pretty handy. to move things a little bit...
05:54 PM JT-Shop: that's a thought, can you import that in the linux cad program which I don't have here lol
05:56 PM roguish[m]: not networked to all the other boxes ?
05:57 PM JT-Shop: know anyone in the NW that might want to work on water jet machines converting them to linuxcnc
05:57 PM JT-Shop: hmm no it's on each linux ps
05:57 PM JT-Shop: pc
05:57 PM roguish[m]: oooooh. sound interesting. where exactly?
05:59 PM JT-Shop: Arlington WA
05:59 PM roguish[m]: way up.
05:59 PM JT-Shop: yep
06:00 PM JT-Shop: can you import a list of coordinates in SW?
06:00 PM roguish[m]: not sure, but maybe....
06:02 PM JT-Shop: https://www.cati.com/blog/2017/08/connecting-the-dots-inserting-solidworks-xyz-curves/
06:03 PM roguish[m]: that makes sense. love excel.
06:04 PM JT-Shop: cool, I can offset it in SW and export a dxf file...
06:05 PM JT-Shop: time to retire for the day here
06:05 PM roguish[m]: good night Gracie
06:05 PM JT-Shop: if you want to speak to the guy I'll give you his email... 84 years old consultant
06:06 PM JT-Shop: goodnight Gracie
06:08 PM TurBoss: goodnight Gracie
06:15 PM becksvill: hey everyone just running a injection mold here with linuxcnc and thought I would see what is happening here with probe basic
06:33 PM TurBoss: hello, welcome
06:38 PM becksvill: thanks turboss
06:40 PM becksvill: I am a beginner really on probe basic but keeping tabs on progress I have one 6 ton cnc mill running parts all the time making injection molds for plastic injection molding and the other one I am about to retrofit.
06:40 PM becksvill: Once the second cnc mill is working I want to spend some serious effort getting probe basic working mint with auto probing and auto touch off of tools etc
06:41 PM becksvill: just don't want to stuff with my current cnc lol as I might take it out of action and suddenly not have a machine to use
06:48 PM TurBoss: awesome
06:50 PM becksvill: whats the status on probe basic for lathes? was thinking about using pathpilot but of course would prefer probe basic if possible . It would be nice to have conversational stuff for a lathe though
06:51 PM TurBoss: there is lathe specific version of probebasic
06:52 PM TurBoss: hmmm
06:52 PM TurBoss: it doesn't have conversational yet
06:54 PM TurBoss: mill is 120% lathe is ?%
06:54 PM TurBoss: in development succes
06:54 PM TurBoss: :D
06:55 PM TurBoss: i don't know maybe i'm just messing
06:55 PM TurBoss: Lcvette may know
06:56 PM TurBoss: 🤐
07:01 PM TurBoss: https://github.com/kcjengr/probe_basic/tree/master/probe_basic_lathe
07:01 PM TurBoss: since virus not much active
07:01 PM TurBoss: :(
07:02 PM TurBoss: we have been working on the lathe support for the 3d plotter
07:28 PM becksvill: haha awesome. Ok I might start out with pathpilot for lathe and probe basic for cnc mill
07:28 PM becksvill: I am slowly getting my head around qtpyvcp and I know hal pretty well now
07:32 PM TurBoss: we were looking for a lathe guy that knows al the bits
08:09 PM becksvill: yes I saw that lol
08:11 PM becksvill: I have run cnc lathes for several years. (I am only 24 so not that long but I know what I want in a controller. I have used fagor fanuc and siemens controllers happy to help out where I can
08:12 PM becksvill: If I don't see this you can message on the linuxcnc email user list and I will get back to you and check in here if you still wanted help.
08:13 PM TurBoss: cool ty
08:15 PM becksvill: sweet
