04:53 AM JT-Cave: morning
04:54 AM Joco[m]: morning JT
04:54 AM Joco[m]: TurBoss: nice blender logo
05:02 AM TurBoss: thanks! did on blender lol
05:02 AM TurBoss: morning
05:03 AM TurBoss: much better results that the SEGA logo
05:23 AM Joco[m]: getting better feeds/speeds?
05:29 AM TurBoss: this time went at 1000mm/min
05:30 AM TurBoss: also did 0.05 mm per pass
05:30 AM TurBoss: instead of 0.1
05:37 AM TurBoss: I need a more robust table
05:37 AM TurBoss: the machine moves the actual one
09:12 AM hazzy-m: morning
09:13 AM hazzy-m: TurBoss: nice
09:13 AM TurBoss: o/
01:27 PM Joco[m]: Monday. Gah. Why cant weekends be 3 days.
01:27 PM Joco[m]: Or better yet, 4
01:37 PM hazzy-m: Joco: if you were in the US or Canada you would have a 3 day weekend :)
02:36 PM Joco[m]: I get a public holiday in October. Then have to wait to Dec/Jan for the next lot.
02:37 PM Joco[m]: But Dec/Jan is also xmas and summer holiday time.
02:50 PM hazzy-m: it's so strange to think of xmas during the summer!
02:57 PM Joco[m]: lol. Yeah. When I lived in the UK it was weird having white xmas.
03:00 PM roguish[m]: hazzy: have you been watching the mailing list? lots of discussion over 'new gui....' seems like lot involve 'conversational' type gui's, and widgets. I see in Probe_basic that there is space laidout for some operations, but none are really there. what are the plans?
03:03 PM hazzy-m: roguish: there has been quite a bit of work on conversational by Aaron Dargel (Gitter) recently, look here: https://github.com/kcjengr/qtpyvcp/pull/49
03:03 PM hazzy-m: I have not been keeping up with the mailing list at all, guess I should try to be better about that
03:14 PM roguish[m]: hazzy: is that merged yet? or going to be. looks very nice. seems to be a good foundation for more...
03:15 PM roguish[m]: i'm not a good originator, but I copy, paste, and modify like a mad man.....
03:15 PM roguish[m]: and how's the day job coming along?
03:15 PM hazzy-m: they are extremely nicely done. Not merged yet, I'm working in making it less work for him to develop, I don't want him to loos momentum lol
03:16 PM roguish[m]: coooool
03:18 PM hazzy-m: roguish: it's good, we have been crazy busy. Finally hiring some more guys to help out with phone support, so that should free me up to do my actual job lol
03:18 PM hazzy-m: how are things on the west coast?
03:22 PM roguish[m]: hot as hell right now. only 1:30 and it's 105 out.
03:23 PM roguish[m]: i'm slow. 1 client now. I fired the other client. I was getting strung out over 90 days on payments. not big ones, just a couple of grand. they still have 1 invoice and doing it again.
03:24 PM roguish[m]: may get to 110 today....we'll see.
03:38 PM hazzy-m: roguish: that sucks, getting paid that late can really hurt a small operation
03:38 PM hazzy-m: Lcvette: this is neat: https://youtu.be/ryp-dghwCzs
03:42 PM AaronDargelGitte: Still have no idea why i can't send messages in element, but anyway, here is the XY coord drilling MR along with some updates to controls and imports to make it play nice in QtDesigner.
03:42 PM AaronDargelGitte: https://github.com/kcjengr/qtpyvcp.conversational-gcode/pull/1
03:47 PM AaronDargelGitte: The facing op is also done and will post an MR after this is merged. I'm not a professional (or even competent) machinist so any feedback on the generated gcode is appreciated.
03:49 PM hazzy-m: Aaron Dargel (Gitter): this looks awesome!
03:49 PM AaronDargelGitte: thanks.
03:51 PM hazzy-m: the generated gcode looks fine, actually very clean for conversational output which typically has a lot or redundancy
03:55 PM AaronDargelGitte: great! the facing op is a bit more involved since it has ramp in/out and arcs to smooth out the step overs.
04:23 PM Joco[m]: Aaron Dargel (Gitter): loving the work you are doing on the conversational stuff. 👍️👍️
04:23 PM AaronDargelGitte:  thanks
04:31 PM AaronDargelGitte: pushed the facing screen as well. that's it for completed screens. next i am thinking either circular pocketing or thread milling. any preference?
04:31 PM AaronDargelGitte: https://github.com/kcjengr/qtpyvcp.conversational-gcode/pull/2
04:42 PM Not-8b99: [02qtpyvcp] 07adargel closed pull request 03#49: ENH: Hole Circle Conversational GCode Widget - 13https://git.io/JU3nl
04:42 PM hazzy-m: Aaron Dargel (Gitter): sweet! Circular pocket might have more widespread immediate use
04:51 PM roguish[m]: hazzy: I see that hole_ops stuff gets copied way down into python2.7 directory. shouldn't it be python 3 ?
04:52 PM roguish[m]: thought you guys were upgrading across the board...
04:53 PM Joco[m]: is circular pocketing where you define a pocket of some shape and then repeat it around a central point 'n' times?
04:53 PM hazzy-m: roguish: no, were still on Py2.7 for now, but have a branch that runs on 3
04:54 PM hazzy-m: Joco: it's just a single round flat bottomed pocket used for bearings and such
04:55 PM Joco[m]: ok - sort of alike a boring operation.
04:55 PM hazzy-m: Also very useful for boring large holes, just set the depth greater than material thickness
04:55 PM hazzy-m: Yes
04:57 PM roguish[m]: regular shapes like circles and rectangles can be pretty simple. arbitrary shapes can be tough.
04:58 PM Joco[m]: think both boring and thread milling good. But agree the boring one probably first
04:58 PM roguish[m]: be sure to add taper to both boring and thread milling. taper in depth....
05:01 PM roguish[m]: Features (or NativeCAM) does pretty good. check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMu1P9tvkbs

06:29 PM Joco[m]: I just got 2m of 70mm diam iron delivered. 😋
07:02 PM roguish[m]: OK, TOPPED OUT AT 107.6 DEG. SENSIBLE AT 109.7.
07:13 PM Joco[m]: erk. That is not plesent
