12:10 AM Joco[m]: solved. Seems to be working like a dream
12:11 AM Lcvette: solved here too
12:11 AM Lcvette: as a position he misunderstood for the tool touch off position location and what that was
12:11 AM Joco[m]: oh well. Sorted now then
12:16 AM Lcvette: so he set it with the spindle on top of the tool setter
12:17 AM Lcvette: so it was not in a probing move when he was trying to trigger it was in a positioning move going to the tool touch off start position which he defined as spindle on tool setter
12:17 AM Lcvette: /o\
12:40 AM Joco[m]: Oh dear.
04:57 AM JT-Cave: morning
07:47 AM Lcvette: monring
07:54 AM JT-Cave: moorning
09:27 AM roguish[m]: not really. smoke is back. had 2 days with enough breeze to keep the air clear, but the breeze is gone again............so smoke is back.

12:44 PM roguish[m]: hey all. any clue as to the password for the rpi .iso install, for doing some system stuff? user name is: linuxcnc
01:02 PM JT-Shop: tux
01:07 PM roguish[m]: JT-Shop: thanks, i'll give it a try. is that common knowledge? or documented anywhere that I should have known or looked? i really hate being ignorant.
01:13 PM JT-Shop: it's jepler's favorite password for emc and the wiki
01:17 PM roguish[m]: JT-Shop: thanks

01:18 PM roguish[m]: interesting, though. that works with user: linuxcnc. but when i use the installed 'add/remove software' the user comes up as 'root' and that does not work......
01:22 PM JT-Shop: that's odd for sure, using add from the menu?
01:37 PM roguish[m]: JT-Shop: yes
01:38 PM roguish[m]: just used sudo and installed synaptic. now using it to install caja, and a few other things.
01:38 PM roguish[m]: R u still working on the spoke machine?
01:58 PM JT-Shop: yea, that's the dog from it
02:13 PM roguish[m]: JT-Shop: I'm repairing one of these. It has bushings for the rotating shafts, and received no maintenance. replacing all the bushings and shafts, and gearbox (which i'm told is bad).

02:34 PM JT-Shop: cool
02:36 PM roguish[m]: ah, just installed gdebi. and synergy (IP kvm), and caja, and pluma. added share, now I can see the rPi on my network.
02:37 PM * JT-Shop needs to make an iso that works out of the box and uses openbox
02:47 PM roguish[m]: JT-Shop: this has openbox buried deep inside. but I know what you mean.
02:48 PM roguish[m]: gotta push off for bit. more memory and a graphics card came. need to install. ciao....................
06:10 PM hazzy-m: hello
06:11 PM hazzy-m: anything that needs attention?
06:45 PM Lcvette: Hola!
07:13 PM Joco[m]: hi ho
07:14 PM Joco[m]: Lcvette: got a 1080p touchscreen now. Guess I have no excuse not to move to PB. :-p
07:18 PM Lcvette: Do it!
07:18 PM Lcvette: Then we can play probe basic!
07:19 PM Lcvette: We're need top make a new release
07:23 PM Lcvette: But turboss changed how to make releases and lcvette don't know how anymore
07:23 PM Lcvette: /o\
07:23 PM Lcvette: Lol
07:25 PM Joco[m]: true, And I can work out how to make PB work for a mill that is not designed for preset tools
07:50 PM Joco[m]: the monitor is an HP2105tm. Was super simple to get working. Once I found the xinput map-to-output command.
08:00 PM hazzy-m: Joco: sweet!
08:03 PM hazzy-m: TurBoss: How easy is it to change the center of rotation in VTK?
08:04 PM hazzy-m: I think it might make sense to set it to the part origin
08:05 PM Joco[m]: hazzy: yeah. That single command and it just works. I have it in a shell script that is auto run on login. Looking at my current setup. I might need to go portrait on the monitor.
08:06 PM hazzy-m: I think some progress has been made on PB vertical
08:09 PM Lcvette: hazzy: yes!
08:10 PM Lcvette: Vtk needs some love
08:10 PM Lcvette: Also maybe get program extents zoom working
08:11 PM Lcvette: I hate when i change view it complete zooms all the way out
08:11 PM Lcvette: I would rather hit a button for full zoom out
08:11 PM Lcvette: AMD have view changes maintain the current zoom factor
08:12 PM Lcvette: * And have view changes maintain the current zoom factor
08:13 PM hazzy-m: Lcvette: agreed, but I have a feeling that might not be trivial to get working
08:13 PM hazzy-m: Lcvette: BTW, how are your parents?
08:14 PM Lcvette: Dad is having a routine and of course it's hard on mom
08:14 PM Lcvette: * Dad is having a rough time and of course it's hard on mom
08:16 PM Lcvette: But he stays positive as much as possible.. it's hard to see though
08:19 PM hazzy-m: sorry to hear, but at least he is staying positive
08:19 PM Lcvette: Yes!
