01:36 PM TurBoss: stuck on g92
01:36 PM TurBoss: broken latc merge
01:36 PM TurBoss: and tooltable
01:36 PM Lcvette: @hazzy, i did feel the earthquake but we get alot of activity out from the continental shelf shifting in the ocean so i thought thats what it was
01:36 PM Lcvette: /o\
01:36 PM TurBoss: :P
01:37 PM TurBoss: the vertical VCP has great work done
01:37 PM TurBoss: code is fantabulous

01:42 PM TurBoss: its a feature
01:42 PM TurBoss: now docs have 404 page
01:42 PM Lcvette: :o
01:42 PM Lcvette: bug feature?

01:44 PM Lcvette: so i can stay up to date
01:44 PM TurBoss: \o/
01:44 PM Lcvette: i should make a linuxcnc laptop to take with me
01:45 PM TurBoss: download the iso
01:45 PM TurBoss: there is a super secret develop version
01:47 PM TurBoss: http://www.linuxcnc.org/temp/2.8test5.iso
01:50 PM Joco[m]: Morning
01:50 PM TurBoss: Good morning!
01:51 PM Joco[m]: I see lcvette has found his way back in.
01:51 PM TurBoss: he is back!! hurray!
01:52 PM TurBoss: ~o~
01:52 PM TurBoss: oh man i went to the work but forgot to take pictures of the surface grinder
01:53 PM TurBoss: 🤐
01:53 PM Joco[m]: lol. No rush remember.
01:53 PM TurBoss: and the vertical drill is biger
01:53 PM TurBoss: lol
01:53 PM Joco[m]: I”m going to be taking the table off again anyway.
01:54 PM Joco[m]: Did I post the picture of the table height mapping?
01:55 PM TurBoss: yes
01:56 PM TurBoss: did something about the hal ploter ¿?
01:56 PM TurBoss: * was something about the hal ploter useful ¿?
01:58 PM TurBoss: <Joco[m] "ima_3c279ff.jpeg"> this one
01:58 PM TurBoss: > <@joco_nz:matrix.org> sent an image.
01:58 PM TurBoss: * this one?
01:58 PM Joco[m]: Yeah. Well i also did some checks using the zero points as the reference surface and did a sweep from from to back. If the table was the issue would have seen the 0.4mm rise. Didn’t. It was within 0.01mm front to back. So the 0.4mm differences has to be in the saddle as it is shifted along the Z axis. I cant believe there is 0.4mm wear. Think something must be riding up.
02:00 PM Joco[m]: Re the halplots. Have those in my gui ane hooked up to the x & y FERROR. Very cool to check them during machining.
02:58 PM TurBoss: amazing
04:59 PM hilo90mhz: Does anyone have any hints on installing python-pyqt5 on newest Linux Mint? "sudo apt install python-pyqt5" gives me "unable to locate package" and pip install pyqt5 gives similar error. I need newest kernel 5.6 RT for my 10th gen intel CPU ethernet + wifi + graphcis to function.
05:01 PM hilo90mhz: It seems like the only way is to compile the pyqt5 package from source - but I have not got that working yet.
05:06 PM TurBoss: Hello
05:08 PM TurBoss: maybe becaus of python2.7
05:08 PM TurBoss: a soon linuxcnc does
05:09 PM TurBoss: we are spectating
05:09 PM TurBoss: master has the posibility to build using py3
05:10 PM TurBoss: linuxcnc:master branch :P
05:10 PM Joco[m]: You can get around it. I did on my Linux mint dev laptop. I’m running 2.8
05:10 PM TurBoss: there is a development version of the linuxcnc iso ready for 2.8
05:10 PM TurBoss: http://www.linuxcnc.org/temp/
05:11 PM TurBoss: true Joco runs on mint
05:11 PM Joco[m]: Went hunting. If you are running the very very latest mint you might have an issue. I’m on 19.3 I think.
05:12 PM Joco[m]: I think I found all the packages I needed in the mint package manager
05:12 PM TurBoss: :/
05:13 PM Joco[m]: 19.3 isn’t that old.
05:13 PM Joco[m]: hilo90mhz: what version of mint did you install?
05:18 PM TurBoss: cool
05:18 PM TurBoss: keep in mind thats begin developed
05:19 PM TurBoss: ☹️
05:20 PM TurBoss: no idea
05:20 PM TurBoss: the linuxcnc development team is small
05:22 PM TurBoss: :-)
05:25 PM TurBoss: kernel 4.19 is preemtp
05:26 PM TurBoss: it works with interface boards
05:26 PM TurBoss: there is also rtai 5.2.3
05:26 PM TurBoss: in the temp folder
05:27 PM TurBoss: for software steps
05:27 PM TurBoss: ops i think thats not the kernel
05:28 PM TurBoss: great
05:29 PM TurBoss: 2800?
05:29 PM TurBoss: wow nice numbers
05:30 PM TurBoss: ohhhh
05:37 PM TurBoss: I don0t know to read that graph just the latency test numbers :-)
05:43 PM TurBoss: is ok
05:43 PM TurBoss: mesa cards can work up to 100000
05:44 PM TurBoss: my old pentium 4 did 6000
05:44 PM TurBoss: ddr
05:44 PM TurBoss: ddr or ddr2
05:44 PM TurBoss: yup :D
05:46 PM Joco[m]: I have some backups as well. main machine is an i3. Have spare i3 board with ram and a couple of core2 duo's that run up to aroun 40-50k on the latencny
05:46 PM Joco[m]: but with mesa - its all good
05:46 PM TurBoss: 🙂
05:46 PM TurBoss: NICE!
05:47 PM TurBoss: awesome enclosoure
05:47 PM Joco[m]: That's a nice tight unit
05:48 PM TurBoss: 🤐
05:48 PM TurBoss: today took some pics of the shop
05:49 PM TurBoss: an engraver

05:50 PM TurBoss: the mosd new is the jog wheel
05:50 PM TurBoss: :P
05:51 PM TurBoss: the X axis is from some machine
05:52 PM TurBoss: not cnc
05:52 PM TurBoss: ops

05:53 PM TurBoss: overkill lol
05:53 PM Joco[m]: that case is kind of what I need to build for my rig
05:53 PM Joco[m]: so I get some space to lay stuff out well
05:54 PM TurBoss: the electronics case?
05:54 PM Joco[m]: yup
05:54 PM Joco[m]: I also need to build a full enclosure like Lcvette has. Well actually per his new design. With the forward slanting bed.
05:55 PM Joco[m]: I have no view either way. I think anything that moves you away from software stepping is a plus
05:55 PM TurBoss: matrix.org
05:56 PM Joco[m]: i'm on the element.io web app
05:58 PM TurBoss: yes
05:58 PM * TurBoss uploaded an image: image.png (205KiB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/jauriarts.org/jQtUVyWPbQcGNWBQZTKnlSMh/image.png >
05:58 PM TurBoss: maybe?
05:59 PM TurBoss: matrix is the main but its federated there are many servers
05:59 PM Joco[m]: I tinker with it. I'm a light weight though
05:59 PM TurBoss: I do widgets and some litthe
05:59 PM TurBoss: * I do widgets and some little
06:00 PM TurBoss: if you need some fantastic animation GUI element
06:00 PM TurBoss: i can do in QML
06:00 PM TurBoss: like the ATC carousel
06:01 PM TurBoss: sure

06:04 PM TurBoss: not sold separated
06:05 PM Joco[m]: that is a very full on looking electronics case
06:05 PM TurBoss: duno how to obtain
06:05 PM Joco[m]: or is it an engraving unit?
06:05 PM TurBoss: case
06:07 PM Joco[m]: if you can get Mint 19.3 running then you can get qtpyvcp running
06:07 PM TurBoss: is minimal featured
06:07 PM TurBoss: cool thank
06:07 PM TurBoss: nice
06:07 PM Joco[m]: wow
06:08 PM TurBoss: I have one of that Fadal 6030
06:08 PM Joco[m]: I wish. Just no space for something like that
06:08 PM TurBoss: at work...
06:08 PM TurBoss: or 6040
06:08 PM TurBoss: 🤞
06:09 PM TurBoss: I don't operate it but the guy who does tried to tech me some times
06:10 PM TurBoss: E1
06:10 PM TurBoss: H1
06:11 PM TurBoss: y just draw some cubes hit calculate and send the tap file
06:11 PM TurBoss: * I just draw some cubes hit calculate and send the tap file
06:11 PM TurBoss: also wrote the post for the CAM software
06:11 PM TurBoss: 🏅
06:11 PM TurBoss: heheheh
06:12 PM TurBoss: yes
06:12 PM TurBoss: yes
06:12 PM TurBoss: many lines empty the buffer
06:12 PM TurBoss: or what do you mean
06:13 PM Joco[m]: hilo90mhz: I followed this: https://gnipsel.com/linuxcnc/uspace/linuxmint19-rt.html
06:13 PM Joco[m]: but used Mint 19.3
06:13 PM TurBoss: we tried increasing the baud rate of the port but there was allready at max
06:15 PM TurBoss: lol
06:19 PM Joco[m]: BASIC?? Really?
06:20 PM TurBoss: was like python of the era
06:20 PM TurBoss: * was like python of the ege
06:20 PM TurBoss: * was like python of the age
06:23 PM Joco[m]: lol - yeah. It was my era. ;-) But even back then I would have said there were better options than BASIC. But oh well. Those decisions are lost in time.
06:23 PM TurBoss: ok
06:23 PM TurBoss: I'm from spain my english is muy ole ole
06:24 PM Joco[m]: TurBoss: just the fact you are here doing english has me in awe.
06:24 PM * TurBoss uploaded an image: linear_atc.gif (33KiB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/jauriarts.org/OhduNfBHdmflxMOJXiRdpPyY/linear_atc.gif >
06:25 PM Joco[m]: I have enough problems with english let alone another language
06:25 PM TurBoss: xD
06:25 PM TurBoss: I know english from online gamming
06:25 PM TurBoss: lol
06:25 PM TurBoss: and academies :P
06:28 PM TurBoss: thats done with QML
06:28 PM TurBoss: 🥳
06:29 PM TurBoss: you can login to you irc account from here
06:29 PM TurBoss: to mess more the thing
06:33 PM * TurBoss sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/RpnhCcGYJsZAvaOBCfceiAMj/message.txt >
06:38 PM TurBoss: hmmm
06:40 PM Joco[m]: there you go
06:40 PM Joco[m]: so with that as the base you should be able to move the kernel forward to an RT version
06:40 PM Joco[m]: ;-)
06:40 PM TurBoss: bravoo
06:40 PM Joco[m]: see - I have my moments.
06:41 PM TurBoss: 🎖️
06:41 PM Joco[m]: the only downside to Mint is its not an offical supported OS by Linuxcnc
06:42 PM Joco[m]: but - there are people out there running Mint based Plasma tables
06:42 PM Joco[m]: and those things fly
06:42 PM TurBoss: do you run debs or build from source guys?
06:42 PM TurBoss: linuxcnc i mean
06:42 PM Joco[m]: I build from source
06:43 PM Joco[m]: there were some prebuilt mint kernels I thought.
06:43 PM Joco[m]: but the instructions for building from source are pretty extensive.
06:44 PM Joco[m]: you could give it a try.
06:45 PM Joco[m]: heck - maybe you should use a Debian build
06:45 PM Joco[m]: well give it a whirl. If not: https://gnipsel.com/linuxcnc/uspace/linuxmint19-rt.html really does spell out what to do
06:48 PM Joco[m]: should be able to. You just need to get the right RT source
06:51 PM Joco[m]: this is the 5.6 RT patch you want: https://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/rt/5.6/patch-5.6.19-rt12.patch.gz
06:52 PM Joco[m]: and this is the relevant kernel source: https://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v5.x/linux-5.6.19.tar.gz
06:54 PM Joco[m]: try the Debian's and if that works rock 'n roll. If not. Try rolling your own
