12:00 AM JamesW[m]: what is "safe torque"?
12:01 AM Lcvette: torque the motor should have to safely run that recipe
12:01 AM Lcvette: for load spikes from transitions
12:01 AM Lcvette: those recipes are for a "static" load
12:02 AM Lcvette: but in the real world there will be significant dynamic loading from corners, transitions etc
12:02 AM Lcvette: so you will see spikes
12:02 AM JamesW[m]: ok
12:02 AM JamesW[m]: on your grizzly - you are running 1:1 ratio?
12:03 AM Lcvette: if the spindle cannot handle it and recover quickly, then the feed rate and dropped rpm compound the load
12:03 AM Lcvette: yes
12:03 AM Lcvette: but with a 2hp 2 pole motor
12:03 AM Lcvette: ie 3600rpm base speed at 60hz
12:03 AM Lcvette: i have amax motor safe rpm of 5400
12:03 AM JamesW[m]: right
12:04 AM Lcvette: if i ever get around to changing out the bellvilles i might over drive it 2:1
12:04 AM Lcvette: * if i ever get around to changing out the bellvilles i might over drive it 1:2
12:05 AM Lcvette: but i don't think the bearings will handle 10.8k rpm for long periods
12:05 AM JamesW[m]: i'm looking for some info on the poly-v pulley sizes that the dual range PM25's have
12:05 AM Lcvette: j eries
12:05 AM Lcvette: * j series
12:06 AM JamesW[m]: that will help me and my friend drawup and build out pulleys
12:06 AM JamesW[m]: J series I had worked out
12:07 AM JamesW[m]: so that gives me the groove data. Just not sure what sizes they are using. Mind you have found a brochure that has a scary amount of math in it that will allow me design it all up from scratch
12:07 AM Lcvette: just use a pulley calculator
12:07 AM Lcvette: the pulley sizes are tsaken from the pirch diameter
12:08 AM Lcvette: * the pulley sizes are tsaken from the pitch diameter
12:09 AM JamesW[m]: like this? https://www.blocklayer.com/pulley-belt.aspx
12:10 AM Lcvette: yup
12:11 AM JamesW[m]: awesome
12:12 AM JamesW[m]: soooo good having chaps like to get a steer on this stuff. Saves a heap of pissing about.
12:12 AM Lcvette: lol
12:12 AM Lcvette: for sure
12:13 AM JamesW[m]: lol - if the servo experiement is a total wash I might be coming back and asking "what SHOULD I have done".
12:13 AM JamesW[m]: hopefully it will be a step up on the stock motor. It sure as heck runs quietly
12:14 AM Lcvette: im sure it will be a nice step up from the stock motor
12:15 AM JamesW[m]: think so. Hmmm ... what qtpyvcp think could I tackle next.
12:16 AM JamesW[m]: * think so. Hmmm ... what qtpyvcp thing could I tackle next.
12:17 AM Lcvette: im headed to bed
12:17 AM Lcvette: late here!
12:17 AM Lcvette: long day tomorrow
12:17 AM Lcvette: night!
12:20 AM JamesW[m]: nite
