04:00 AM JamesW: hmmm ... been a long time since I have tried to build a gui on anything.
04:01 AM JamesW: JT: seriously starting to think starting with your Mill v6 and turning it metric might be the better path
04:02 AM JamesW: Or at least pick it apart and use some of you layout approaches.

11:39 AM JT-Shop: missing a dependency
01:34 PM jthornton: sometimes I get that when the internet is flaky
02:24 PM hazzy-m: RacoonRider | MovT: sudo apt install python-pyqt5.qtwebkit
05:12 PM JamesW: just wanted to check some understanding on data channels. A data channel is an object that fronts the collection of info that a rule can interact with. Therefore if you are creating buttons which fire click events. If you want something to react to those events it would need a new data channel implementation to collect and distribute those events? i.e. it will be easier to register the clicks and handlers in python code. Cheers.
06:02 PM jthornton: python
06:03 PM jthornton: take a look at mt6 python code for examples
06:04 PM hazzy-m: JamesW: Yes, that is basically correct. Currently DataChannels are more of a source of info, and not something that receives signals or is interacted with, but im thinking about extending them to be able to receive events as well
06:04 PM hazzy-m: actions are what receive and handle user interactions
06:06 PM hazzy-m: user interactions that are just used within the UI (changing pages etc.) should be handled by slots in the main window class
06:06 PM hazzy-m: I think Jt's VCPs have some good examples of this
06:07 PM joco_nz[m]: yup - looking at his Mill-v6
06:07 PM joco_nz[m]: more admin like question:
06:08 PM joco_nz[m]: after using the "copy.sh" command in the VCP template. If I want to delete that can Just delete the directory or do I need to do more?
06:08 PM joco_nz[m]: referring to the result of the copy not the vcp-template
06:09 PM hazzy-m: JamesW: you should pip uninstall <vcp> name first
06:09 PM joco_nz[m]: cool
06:10 PM JamesW: didn't find that in the "manual" so wasn't sure
06:10 PM hazzy-m: but other than that everything is self contained in the directory, so you can just delete it
06:10 PM * hazzy-m had to read to copy.sh script to be sure
06:11 PM * jthornton has not seen copy.sh...
06:12 PM hazzy-m: jthornton wrote copy.sh
06:12 PM jthornton: I would not doubt it lol
06:12 PM hazzy-m: xD
06:12 PM JamesW: lol
06:12 PM jthornton: so much water under the bridge lol
06:13 PM JamesW: most of my learning to date is how to handle Designer
06:13 PM hazzy-m: haha yes
06:13 PM JT[m]: why do my posts echo twice?
06:13 PM hazzy-m: I think its a bug
06:13 PM hazzy-m: there is another room that is also going it
06:14 PM hazzy-m: or maybe we have two bots??
06:14 PM JT[m]: ah ok
06:14 PM hazzy-m: TurBoss should know
06:14 PM JT[m]: yep that's my coding lol
06:16 PM * jthornton goes to prep the grill for some burgers and try to dodge the random thunderstorms
