03:19 PM * JT[m] uploaded an image: VectorImage_2020-04-28_031728.jpg (7284KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/YQTgpgkcIpAonSakVcQSxwjJ >
03:21 PM JT-Shop: roguish[m], gotta take the rear mech off and clean an lube it up... not shifting up right and leaving slack in the cable when I shift up
03:57 PM roguish[m]: lot of times that's the cables... core not sliding in the cover like it should.
03:59 PM roguish[m]: that's one of them thar single chain ring bikes. very nice.
04:03 PM roguish[m]: I use an ultrasonic cleaner for my parts. just water and dish soap. tried a degreaser and it actually ate away at the anodizing.
04:04 PM * roguish[m] uploaded an image: image.png (308KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/EytarmGbEVOZwmKjsNgtGtfD >
04:04 PM roguish[m]: that's what I like for my chain.
04:05 PM roguish[m]: spray some on as you turn the cranks backwards, then wipe of the excess by holding a rag gently around the chain and turning the crank again.
04:23 PM JT-Shop: I'll check the cable outer pieces... it's been in the mud after all it's a mtb
04:23 PM JT-Shop: ah I have some T9
04:44 PM JT-Shop: no ultrasonic, what kind is good?
04:44 PM JT-Shop: roguish[m], I converted it from a 3x9 to a 1x9
05:17 PM roguish[m]: this is what i'm using. borrowed from a friend. works pretty good though. https://www.harborfreight.com/25-liter-ultrasonic-cleaner-63256.html?_br_psugg_q=ultrasonic+cleaner
05:20 PM roguish[m]: a really good brand is Branson. look to ebay.
05:21 PM roguish[m]: pricey, but probably the best
05:25 PM JT-Shop: thanks, it's not the rear mech it's clean and moves smooth
05:36 PM JT-Shop: well maybe it was, after cleaning the rear mech an oiling it shifts up crisply now
06:56 PM hazzy-m: roguish: somebody gave me that same cleaner, it's not tea bag at all
06:56 PM hazzy-m: use it mostly for cleaning carb parts
