05:23 AM jthornton: hazzy-m, that's a good idea to have pluggable things for the VCP's
07:44 AM hazzy-m: morning
07:45 AM Lcvette: morning
07:46 AM Lcvette: wow lots of fun new things!
09:26 AM roguish[m]: good morning all. still alive and kickin'
10:21 AM * JT-Shop is in the middle of a huge clean up in the garage
10:42 AM Lcvette: lcvette is going to the doctors office
10:42 AM Lcvette: thinks he has cat scratch fever
10:42 AM jthornton: are you sick?
10:42 AM Lcvette: :(
10:43 AM Lcvette: not with corona
10:43 AM Lcvette: have had swollen painful glands in my neck for 4 days now
10:43 AM jthornton: ouch
10:43 AM Lcvette: no other symptoms
10:44 AM Lcvette: got torn up a last week by one of my cats
10:44 AM Lcvette: diring bathtime
10:44 AM * jthornton broke through the 180 barrier this morning
10:44 AM Lcvette: * during bathtime
10:44 AM Lcvette: 180
10:44 AM jthornton: ouch and they are big cats
10:44 AM Lcvette: ?
10:44 AM jthornton: 180 pounds
10:45 AM Lcvette: wow!
10:45 AM jthornton: I weighed in at 179.2 this morning
10:45 AM Lcvette: thats crazy good
10:45 AM jthornton: yea gotta keep it up till I'm down to 12 stone
10:45 AM Lcvette: how tall are you?
10:46 AM Lcvette: me at 180 looks sickly
10:47 AM Lcvette: where did you start?
10:47 AM Lcvette: ie how much have you lost?
10:52 AM JT-Shop: 60 pounds so far, but I gained 10 back and had to loose that again
12:30 PM roguish[m]: Lcvette: hey, you there?
12:30 PM roguish[m]: you've been machining stuff for a while, right? ever do any die work?
12:46 PM Lcvette: roguish: hey, no die work, that takes a pretty dedicated type of machine generally to do with any sort of efficiency
12:47 PM Lcvette: usually super high rpm spindle, very stiff and very high speed since the stepovers are usually tiny for surface finish purposes
01:27 PM roguish[m]: Lcvette: sorry was working on my dev setup, trying to figue out a new drive.
01:29 PM roguish[m]: ok, well, the company I am consulting to makes an insulation material that is extruded out of a die. very hot, very high pressure. die parts are round, 6 to 10 inch diam. several parts.
01:30 PM roguish[m]: the founder does not like haveing to pay 5 or 6k for a set of dies, and waiting for 4 or 5 or more weeks. SO he wants to have a machine shop in house. he knows absolutely nothing of machining.
01:30 PM roguish[m]: I have been asked ot figure it out. and make a recommendation as to what kind of mill and / or lathe.
01:31 PM roguish[m]: he really thinks you buy one like a lawnmower at HomeDeopot or something. throw it on the floor and it spits out dies in hours.....
01:31 PM roguish[m]: funny but sad.
01:32 PM roguish[m]: he also met a Haas salesman at a party, who of course wants to see him what ever he wants,
01:35 PM TurBoss: hello
01:35 PM * roguish[m] uploaded an image: image.png (305KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/DQZuYoKGQJuvyiqrVGUdYeNk >

01:37 PM roguish[m]: Lcvette: those are some of the parts. either stainless or a hardenable steel
01:38 PM roguish[m]: in your experienced, proffesional opinion, what type of machine would do these best and most efficienly?
01:45 PM JT-Shop: at the local plastic injection factory they have a pretty big HAAS VMC and a host of other fancy stuff
01:46 PM JT-Shop: they have a welder with a microscope that can deposit 0.001"
01:50 PM roguish[m]: JT-Shop: i started with a large VMC, but now am thinking a cnc lathe with Y axis combined with a decent cnc bed mill.
01:51 PM roguish[m]: live tooling for the lathe too.
01:53 PM roguish[m]: but I don't really know. and they won't give a budget..... added another 50k or so just for all the ancillary tools. and it needs an enclosed room to go in. the insulation is make withe powder which gets everywhere. and if any chips ever got into the powder material, any at all, it will cause many thousands of dollars of damage to the extruder.
01:54 PM roguish[m]: a small screw got in somehow, cost over 10k out of pocket to fix, tens of thousands in lost production.
01:58 PM JT-Shop: yea extruders don't like metal bits... they don't have a magnetic drawer in the pellet feet?
01:58 PM JT-Shop: that is a must for plastic injection
01:59 PM JT-Shop: well a SS screw would get past that lol
02:06 PM Lcvette: Yeah those are beat suited for multiaxis lathe
02:06 PM Lcvette: Best
02:06 PM * JT-Shop just looked and round = lathe
02:07 PM roguish[m]: and of course out here right now a machinist to do that and program is like 120+k
02:08 PM roguish[m]: per year....
02:08 PM * JT[m] uploaded an image: VectorImage_2020-03-20_020810.jpg (292KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/cquipzccfecuPucLjrLcHeOA >
02:09 PM JT-Shop: Lcvette, managed to get everyone in the garage with room for the wifes Honda
02:09 PM roguish[m]: show off....
02:10 PM JT-Shop: hey I worked my ass off
02:10 PM roguish[m]: dropping some tonnage sure helps in the bike riding.
02:10 PM JT-Shop: the garage was just full of crap... been cleaning for days
02:10 PM JT-Shop: been thinking of getting a 27.5 mountain bike the 29er is just a bit tall for me
02:11 PM * JT-Shop still has a ton of crap to sort through
02:11 PM roguish[m]: sell it if you can. cash is king
02:12 PM JT-Shop: yea, I'll sell the 29er
02:13 PM * JT[m] uploaded an image: VectorImage_2020-03-20_021244.jpg (252KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/MoxwfaoMOsQtTWaZiCyysXDg >
02:13 PM JT-Shop: I found my first welding table I built years ago, it was buried up in the garage lol
03:14 PM JT-Shop: roguish[m], I just pushed some more font fixing
04:11 PM TurBoss: JT-Shop: is that for bp or milltouch?
04:13 PM TurBoss: ok milltouch
04:13 PM TurBoss: just saw the commit date
04:22 PM TurBoss: works great but it shows this error messages 😕
04:22 PM TurBoss: http://dpaste.com/00TFNCK
04:24 PM TurBoss: just noticed clipping area on VTK camera
04:24 PM TurBoss: maybe because the new camera options for pan
04:25 PM TurBoss: 🤔

04:44 PM JT-Shop: TurBoss, I don't get that error message, however on my dev PC I get a bunch of build errors on the docs
04:48 PM TurBoss: how do I trigger the docs build?
05:16 PM Lcvette: JT-Shop: nice!!! looks tody!!
05:16 PM Lcvette: i think JT has a strong affection for the color blue
05:16 PM Lcvette: :D
05:18 PM TurBoss: my sister says the same
05:27 PM Lcvette: TurBoss: o/
05:27 PM Lcvette: how are you doing?
05:28 PM Lcvette: are you and your family still corona free
05:28 PM TurBoss: welll
05:28 PM Lcvette: ?
05:28 PM TurBoss: yes
05:28 PM TurBoss: bored
05:28 PM TurBoss: improvint TurboNC
05:28 PM TurBoss: * improving TurboNC
05:29 PM TurBoss: 7 dais confined
05:30 PM Lcvette: roguish: back at computer, i don't think he is going to want a haas for die making, generally the machines that make dies hold higher tolerances than haas. I would look into doosen machines, they are about twice the weight of a haas for a similar envelope and have better quality components in them.
05:31 PM Lcvette: maybe a 5 axis mill turn machine for what he is making if the parts are 10" plus in size, that would handle all he needed to do
05:36 PM Lcvette: :(
05:36 PM Lcvette: sorry you are confined
05:36 PM Lcvette: /o\
05:39 PM TurBoss: we are in "ALARM STATE"
05:40 PM Lcvette: whats that mean?
05:40 PM TurBoss: all closed
05:40 PM TurBoss: just food and tabako
05:40 PM TurBoss: and health
05:40 PM TurBoss: and you can only go in single there
05:40 PM Lcvette: gotta have tobacco
05:40 PM Lcvette: lol
05:41 PM TurBoss: and back
05:41 PM Lcvette: one person at a time?
05:42 PM TurBoss: yes
05:42 PM TurBoss: no groups
05:42 PM TurBoss: police with speakes
05:42 PM TurBoss: * police with speakesrs
05:42 PM TurBoss: * police with speakers
05:42 PM TurBoss: military with sprays
05:42 PM TurBoss: desinfectating
05:43 PM Lcvette: they should have the grocers doing the shopping and just have people swing b the front to pick them up and pay
05:43 PM TurBoss: ?¿
05:44 PM Lcvette: order online, and have pickup at a selected time
05:44 PM TurBoss: no
05:45 PM TurBoss: it will happend there ?
05:45 PM Lcvette: thats how we do it here
05:45 PM TurBoss: oh cool
05:45 PM Lcvette: my wiofe never leaves the car
05:46 PM Lcvette: she orders online the night before and they do the shopping then she drives through and they come out and load the groceries and she pays
05:47 PM TurBoss: good
05:48 PM Lcvette: do you have chain grocery stores?
05:49 PM TurBoss: mercadona?
05:49 PM TurBoss: :P
05:50 PM Lcvette: they have online ordering
05:50 PM TurBoss: yes and they send home also
05:50 PM TurBoss: but I don't know if that works at now

06:08 PM Lcvette: :o
06:08 PM TurBoss: turbonc xD
06:09 PM TurBoss: added the edit find replace and save buttons
06:10 PM Lcvette: nivce!!!
06:11 PM hazzy-m: Yo
06:11 PM TurBoss: need it to find why it doesnt replace
06:11 PM TurBoss: yo
06:14 PM JT[m]: hazzy: got any thoughts on how to make mill touch 6 user configurable without being over written during an update
06:15 PM hazzy-m: JT: what type of things need to be configurable?
06:16 PM Lcvette: JT: you can use the settings things
06:16 PM Lcvette: they store and as long as the json file stays with the users config file it should remain through an update
06:16 PM TurBoss: maybe using gitignore?
06:22 PM JT[m]: I dunno font size maybe or adding something
06:22 PM hazzy-m: just read the logs
06:23 PM * hazzy-m has trouble staying over 130lbs lol
06:23 PM JT[m]: just thinking out loud

06:30 PM Lcvette: rest of the body was blackish
06:30 PM Lcvette: not other distinguishing marks
06:30 PM TurBoss: kingcobra
06:30 PM Lcvette: never seen one before until today
06:30 PM Lcvette: lol
06:30 PM Lcvette: probably
06:31 PM TurBoss: here there are rat snakes
06:31 PM TurBoss: inofensive
06:31 PM hazzy-m: TurBoss: that should work, but we have to tell designer about the widget somehow
06:32 PM TurBoss: ahhhh
06:32 PM JT[m]: black snake
06:32 PM Lcvette: JT: ive never seen a black snake with the red stripe
06:32 PM Lcvette: but it looked like a black sname other than the stripe
06:33 PM JT[m]: I've not seen one with a red stripe either
06:50 PM Lcvette: wow, just searched all of google and no images of this damned snake are the same
06:50 PM Lcvette: should have caught it
06:51 PM jthornton: might have been a rare one
06:52 PM Lcvette: probably mutated from cornoa virus
06:52 PM Lcvette: * probably mutated from coronoa virus
06:52 PM TurBoss: /o\
06:52 PM TurBoss: ~~~
06:52 PM jthornton: maybe it escaped from jurassic park
06:53 PM jthornton: it's fun to watch chicken TV at quitting time
06:56 PM Lcvette: i think it did escape from jurassic park
06:56 PM Lcvette: raptor snake
06:56 PM Lcvette: im namin it because its not on google dammit!
06:57 PM TurBoss: @hazzy I lost logs they are not shown in console anymore
06:57 PM jthornton: chickens are descendants of T Rex
06:57 PM TurBoss: only linuxcnc ones
06:57 PM Lcvette: i beleive it
06:57 PM TurBoss: be carefull JT
06:58 PM Lcvette: the chicken claws look like dinosaurs feet
06:58 PM Lcvette: i always discovered i have glass snakes in my yard
06:58 PM jthornton: all covered with scales
06:58 PM Lcvette: saw them this morning
06:58 PM Lcvette: they are wierd
06:59 PM jthornton: grass snakes?
06:59 PM Lcvette: they stick up out of the yard about 4" out of a hole
06:59 PM Lcvette: glass
06:59 PM Lcvette: i had not seen them before
06:59 PM jthornton: not seen them before
06:59 PM Lcvette: but i tried to get one with a golf club and it broke in half
06:59 PM jthornton: the golf club?
06:59 PM Lcvette: i looked them up and they are known as glass snakes
07:00 PM Lcvette: they are actually legless lizards
07:04 PM hazzy-m: TurBoss: do you know how to import from a module object?
07:04 PM TurBoss: what?
07:05 PM hazzy-m: `<module 'widgets' from '/home/kurt/dev/cnc/BlueControl/widgets/__init__.pyc'>`
07:05 PM TurBoss: nope
07:05 PM hazzy-m: I have this module, that contains custom widget plugin classes
07:05 PM TurBoss: oh
07:05 PM TurBoss: cool1
07:05 PM hazzy-m: I need to find a way to import the classes into the current scope
07:06 PM hazzy-m: and it should be done
07:06 PM TurBoss: i tried in main.py
07:06 PM TurBoss: of the vcp
07:06 PM hazzy-m: then custom widgets can be installed as separate packages and added to the qtpyvcp.widgets group
07:07 PM * hazzy-m sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/aFtDVyYuxtTRWXMTPeQrHhmg >
07:09 PM TurBoss: and how designer will detect thoose?
07:10 PM TurBoss: it doesn't need a path to widgets?
07:10 PM TurBoss: aka plugins?
07:10 PM TurBoss: could multiple paths be added?
07:13 PM TurBoss: QT_PLUGIN_PATH
07:13 PM hazzy-m: yes, any path will work
07:13 PM hazzy-m: just like the vcp entry points
07:13 PM hazzy-m: you can import from anywhere
07:26 PM TurBoss: hazzy: any idea about missing logs in terminal?
07:27 PM TurBoss: i can only see linuxcnc logs
