12:01 AM Lcvette: quite alot
12:01 AM Lcvette: i just ran a tool change and got tons of loading
12:01 AM TurBoss: also you have 2 backplots so doble
12:02 AM Lcvette: yes
12:03 AM Lcvette: the on offset table runs ALOT
12:04 AM Lcvette: ok so i got two load_program when referencing the atc carousel
12:04 AM Lcvette: one for each backplotter
12:05 AM Lcvette: could it be the settings for the machine bvoundaries program boundaries etc maybe?
12:05 AM Lcvette: lcvette is so confused
12:05 AM TurBoss: xD
12:05 AM TurBoss: i think i call it a day
12:06 AM Lcvette: yeah same here
12:06 AM Lcvette: my brain is fried
12:06 AM Lcvette: we got many wins today
12:06 AM TurBoss: yup
12:06 AM Lcvette: \o/
12:06 AM Lcvette: i call it a victory
12:06 AM Lcvette: the vtk thing will come with fresh brains
12:06 AM TurBoss: cool
12:06 AM Lcvette: night turboss, get some rest!
12:06 AM TurBoss: night

06:51 AM Lcvette: morning
06:51 AM Lcvette: whoa hazzy was busy this morning
06:51 AM Lcvette: turboss stayed up later last night
08:20 AM * hazzy-m is remoted into dev from the airport
08:21 AM Lcvette: \o/
08:21 AM Lcvette: hurray!
08:23 AM Lcvette: Good way to pass time
08:24 AM Lcvette: In the airport hurry up and wait game...lol
08:25 AM hazzy-m: yep
08:25 AM Lcvette: How bad is the checkbox bug.
08:25 AM hazzy-m: I tthe tool change error might be related to loading the NGC file multiple times in VTK
08:26 AM Lcvette: Yeah.
08:26 AM Lcvette: Turbos and i saw it loads alot
08:26 AM hazzy-m: Lcvette: I decited its not a bug with the checkbox, since the values are pesistend
08:26 AM Lcvette: * Turboss and i saw it loads alot
08:26 AM hazzy-m: persistent
08:26 AM Lcvette: Ah
08:27 AM hazzy-m: I think for some reason the stack widget is not piking up the changed signal
08:27 AM Lcvette: Maybe syntax error?
08:27 AM hazzy-m: on startup
08:27 AM Lcvette: Oh
08:27 AM hazzy-m: well it works when cheking the boxes after evryhting is up and running
08:27 AM * hazzy-m its hard typing with the lag from neing remoted in lol
08:28 AM Lcvette: Yes i meant my py fike syntax
08:28 AM Lcvette: Did not have a checkbox to model after
08:28 AM hazzy-m: it looks fine
08:28 AM Lcvette: Ok
08:30 AM hazzy-m: how is a tool added to the ATC?
08:30 AM hazzy-m: which sub
08:30 AM Lcvette: Toolchange
08:31 AM hazzy-m: would it be ok if it was just added in the ToolTable file?
08:31 AM hazzy-m: ok
08:32 AM Lcvette: Toolchange is the master, it's called anytime m6 is requested
08:32 AM Lcvette: So to store a tool, the command is m6 t0
08:32 AM hazzy-m: but I mean when you hit the store tool button inthe GUI
08:32 AM Lcvette: But of course you must first load the tool in spindle when storing or from the CD as riusel
08:33 AM Lcvette: * But of course you must first load the tool in spindle when storing or from the carousel
08:33 AM Lcvette: M6 t0
08:33 AM Lcvette: That's all the store button is
08:33 AM Lcvette: Mdi call
08:33 AM hazzy-m: OK sweet
08:34 AM Lcvette: Toolchange then looks for an empty pocket to put the tool into
08:39 AM * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/LuysWFxtpYqtiAEzfaYpkQec >
08:39 AM Lcvette: this is the subcall for storing the tool
08:39 AM Lcvette: i just added the subcall so that i could run the G49 line
08:40 AM Lcvette: hazzy ^^^
08:40 AM Lcvette: used to be just an mdi line but i was having some scary things happen without he the G49
08:40 AM hazzy-m: thanks
08:41 AM hazzy-m: if their is no open pocket in the atc then it should ask to remove the tool by hand?
08:47 AM Lcvette: yes
08:47 AM Lcvette: remove tool from spindle manually
08:48 AM hazzy-m: ok
08:48 AM * Lcvette posted a file: atc_remaps_files_combined.ngc (8KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/QqjGOVEvJoKuzcTQbEFEPAWH >
08:48 AM Lcvette: i made you a combined single file with all of the ngc files for the remap
08:48 AM Lcvette: for easier viewing and checking
08:48 AM Lcvette: i headered above the ngc file for easy finding
08:49 AM Lcvette: this was helpful for me while constructing
09:07 AM TurBoss: o/
09:07 AM TurBoss: making progress?
09:07 AM Lcvette: o/
09:10 AM Lcvette: hazzy is plugged into the matrix at the airport
09:10 AM Lcvette: lol
09:10 AM TurBoss: lul
09:24 AM Lcvette: whatcha typin hazzy?
09:24 AM Lcvette: need answered question?

09:33 AM Lcvette: * :o
10:12 AM Lcvette: hazzy wear a mask on the plane
10:13 AM Lcvette: coronavirus is nasty
11:15 AM dremeier[m]: How can I set an offset for the 3d-Probe? Because my 3D-Probe is not in the Spindle, it is on a slider outside the Spindle.^^
11:15 AM * dremeier[m] posted a file: 3d-Probe_up-down.MOV (18055KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/JwQFhUfrizewBWARMmeDelrm >
11:20 AM Lcvette: add the offset in the probe routines?
11:24 AM Lcvette: or maybe add a subcall button that applies the offset when pressed
11:26 AM dremeier[m]: wow, that will be a lot of work, will see :-)
11:26 AM Lcvette: i would do it externally to the probe routines i think
11:37 AM Lcvette: dremeier: i think if you want it automated the simplest way would be to write a single offset subroutine and put it at the bottom of the main subroutinesso that it uses the very latest stored parameter data and offsets against it in the final subcall
11:38 AM dremeier[m]: that sounds good!
11:38 AM dremeier[m]: could you help me?
11:39 AM Lcvette: that way you would just be copying and pasting the same thing in the same place on all of the probes
11:39 AM dremeier[m]: I guess I´ve to forward the measured variables to the suproutine
11:39 AM Lcvette: no
11:40 AM Lcvette: if it is at the end of the main subroutines, then all of the measured data has already been stored in parameters
11:40 AM Lcvette: for example you would not put it in the primary subcall routines
11:40 AM Lcvette: xplu xminus zminus etc
11:40 AM Lcvette: * xplus xminus zminus etc
11:41 AM Lcvette: those proimary subcalls are in every probe routine
11:41 AM Lcvette: so you would not want them to be doubled
11:41 AM Lcvette: so only use in the main button subcall routines
11:42 AM Lcvette: that way it uses all the previously obtained data from all of the subcalls and the main button subroutine
11:42 AM Lcvette: you could also make a vcpsettingslineedit in probe basic gui to enter the xyz desired offset that is used
11:43 AM Lcvette: and its data would be pulled in for the offset in the subroutine calculations
11:45 AM Lcvette: and make a rule such that if the vcplineedit value is eq 0 then return to the main sub instead of running the offset sub
11:45 AM dremeier[m]: Yes I´ll make some vcpsettingslineedit for the offset to pull in subroutine
11:46 AM dremeier[m]: puhh, will do my best...
11:46 AM ewildgoose[m]: Hi. Just discovered probe_basic. Love the look of it. Question though: should I be able to type into the various feed rate or spindle rpm (or axis position) boxes? They seem to be just labels?
11:46 AM ewildgoose[m]: If that's not yet implemented, any pointers to how to implement this... (Be gentle)
11:47 AM Lcvette: thos are just labels
11:47 AM Lcvette: you would not want to type into the dro's thats bad practice
11:48 AM Lcvette: if you want to set offsets you can do so in the offsets table
11:48 AM Lcvette: currently for spindle and feed rate you would use the mdi s word and f word to change those
11:51 AM Lcvette: dremeier: http://linuxcnc.org/docs/2.8/html/gcode/g-code.html#gcode:g10-l20
11:51 AM Lcvette: i think this is what you would want to use in your calculations
11:51 AM Lcvette: im finishing lunch then back to the shop to mfinish some parts
11:52 AM Lcvette: but this evening if you want to show me what you have i can help you fine tune it
11:52 AM Lcvette: i would maybe make a subcall button just to test it out on its own before putting it in the subroutines
11:53 AM Lcvette: then once you know you have it working as expected implement the call for it from the main probe subs
11:59 AM dremeier[m]: ok, thank you so far!
12:01 PM Lcvette: you would give the probe a tool length
12:02 PM Lcvette: i would use a g43 for it to define its distance from the spindle nose gaugeline
12:02 PM Lcvette: so you really only would need the xy offset
12:04 PM dremeier[m]: yes, that was my thought too, only xy offset
12:22 PM Lcvette: dremeier: see below
12:23 PM Lcvette: whipped something up real quick
12:23 PM * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/jtPOnGIpngVIcuIeBnLEgvvH >
12:24 PM Lcvette: untested
12:24 PM Lcvette: but should give you what you need to get started
12:24 PM dremeier[m]: looks good, will try that, but first I´m about to understand all the probe routines.
12:24 PM dremeier[m]: I´m back in 1h, have to pickup my son.
12:25 PM Lcvette: have fun with that
12:25 PM Lcvette: lol
12:25 PM Lcvette: they are intricate
12:25 PM Lcvette: i was in the zone when i wrote them
12:25 PM Lcvette: i get confused now looking at them
12:25 PM Lcvette: lol
12:26 PM dremeier[m]: in which zone?
12:26 PM Lcvette: the emntal zone
12:26 PM Lcvette: * the mental zone
12:26 PM dremeier[m]: does the probe-routines tested in real world?
12:27 PM Lcvette: yes
12:27 PM dremeier[m]: lol ^^ menatl-zone !
12:27 PM Lcvette: i used them daily on my machine
12:27 PM dremeier[m]: nice
12:27 PM dremeier[m]: cu
12:27 PM Lcvette: later
12:37 PM Lcvette: dremeier: actually the one below is simpler and should be easier to implement
12:37 PM * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/jSGLFnXMjqnDumsmAuJIqhaf >
12:39 PM * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/MyAMBqeyEzocCuyQxluMMUJb >

12:43 PM * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/hFqpJPfHuOsDcjeHYGLRfiMg >
12:46 PM Lcvette: you will need 3 seperate subs i think to make this work
12:46 PM Lcvette: one for x only offset
12:46 PM Lcvette: one for y only offset
12:46 PM Lcvette: and one for x and y offset
12:47 PM Lcvette: that way it won't change your offsets in probing operation that only have an x or a y probe event
12:47 PM Lcvette: but it should need othing else pulled in to work as expected
12:50 PM * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/NpKkvpfOLxMwYaNBbVrsTRUL >
12:50 PM Lcvette: that one would be for x only probe subs
12:50 PM Lcvette: ^^^
12:51 PM Lcvette: the one below for Y only probe subs
12:51 PM * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/JkQQvvpdDggQaJAKqnxcOfNh >
12:51 PM Lcvette: and the top one for both x and y
12:53 PM * Lcvette uploaded an image: Screenshot_2020-02-26_13-46-15.png (31KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/hGJDEHUyOwgowQyTPMOqUAbl >
12:54 PM Lcvette: then you would just add the appropriate subcall to the bottom of the main probe subroutine
12:54 PM Lcvette: like in the picture above
12:54 PM Lcvette: obviously if it is a Y probe only main sub then you would use the o<non_spindle_probe_offset_y> call
01:05 PM Lcvette: then you make you persistent VCPSettingsLineEdit boxes and format and name them appropriately
01:06 PM * Lcvette uploaded an image: Screenshot_2020-02-26_13-59-08.png (110KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/NSRBVkboWDdsNEKBgJSuhztm >

01:07 PM Lcvette: then setup your settings in the yaml file for persistence
01:07 PM Lcvette: ^^^
01:24 PM Not-c468: [02probe_basic] 07ctbenergy forked the repository - 13https://git.io/Jvu7q
01:43 PM Lcvette: dremeier: i am having toruble getting that to work
01:43 PM dremeier[m]: I´m just about to setup all you metioned ^^, testing now
01:48 PM Lcvette: however, you can add the line edits to the top of each main probe subroutine
01:48 PM * Lcvette uploaded an image: Screenshot_2020-02-26_14-41-07.png (32KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/TjbBAJbdRBXFYZyzrlVupLIT >
01:48 PM Lcvette: #17 and #18 in this picture
01:49 PM Lcvette: and at the end of each main subroutine add them to the final results
01:49 PM * Lcvette uploaded an image: Screenshot_2020-02-26_14-41-42.png (18KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/tFejezlZSPZsIMacAARDsuYK >
01:49 PM Lcvette: and this does work
01:49 PM Lcvette: would not be that hard to do
01:49 PM Lcvette: for all the main probe routine
01:50 PM Lcvette: i tested and at the completion of the probe sub the shown dro's in the work coordinate system selected show the offsets that are in the boxes in the settings page
01:50 PM Lcvette: so just play with it from there
01:51 PM dremeier[m]: so no sub calls?
01:51 PM Lcvette: maybe hazzy knows about doing a seperate subroutine that would make it easier but he is not here at the moment i don't think
01:51 PM Lcvette: the way above ^^^ is not using subcalls no
01:51 PM Lcvette: you would need to put the linedit calls at the top of each main button subroutine
01:52 PM Lcvette: and add them to the final equation as shown in the picture above
01:52 PM Lcvette: like i said that seems to work perectly fine
01:54 PM dremeier[m]: great... will test it
01:56 PM * Lcvette posted a file: spindle_probe_offset.mkv (4475KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/WrVjGNdcWgQMTdORtDILeLXZ >
01:56 PM Lcvette: vids of the test
02:25 PM ewildgoose[m]: <Lcvette "you would not want to type into "> I'm not experienced enough to disagree, however I can't see how to type it put something in the offsets page either?? The two main boxes all seem to be labels only? (I'm using the 0.22 release)
02:42 PM Lcvette: on the offsets page is the offsets table
02:43 PM Lcvette: not the dro's but a list table with G54 G55 G56 etc
02:43 PM Lcvette: i would jog next to your part, hit zero, jog up and over 3mm then hit zero
02:44 PM Lcvette: the alternative is to do it in the mdi
02:44 PM Lcvette: but that would in my opinoon take longer
02:45 PM Lcvette: fastest way os to use a touch probe
02:45 PM Lcvette: it does everything for you and if your tools are in the tool table then they are already to go for the part machining
02:46 PM Lcvette: if you have an er collet, you could do a touch probe like what dremeier has which is not in the spindle, but requires an offset once probing is completed
02:46 PM Lcvette: this would be relatively easy and cheap to do depending on what probe type you want to use
02:46 PM Lcvette: they can be had for about $120 now days or you could make a solid probe in delrin holder and wire it to mesa or your breakout board
02:47 PM Lcvette: then just put your probe tip diameter in and it autmatically will set the offset after probing completes
02:48 PM dremeier[m]: Lcvette: Man, thanks a lot, it is working here as well, hurray!!!! 👍️
02:48 PM Lcvette: hurray!
02:48 PM Lcvette: dremeier, show @ewildgoose:matrix.org: your probe setup

02:51 PM Lcvette: /o\ what have you done to my masterpiece
02:51 PM Lcvette: lol
02:51 PM dremeier[m]: lol
02:51 PM dremeier[m]: it is not ready, still wip
02:52 PM dremeier[m]: playing around, and will start with a new sreen from scatch later
02:53 PM Lcvette: that clock...
02:53 PM Lcvette: lol
02:53 PM dremeier[m]: testing and was looking for some free space, but clock is important for me
02:54 PM dremeier[m]: lol
02:54 PM Lcvette: it appear to be the most important thing on the screen
02:54 PM Lcvette: it is huge
02:54 PM Lcvette: lol
02:54 PM Lcvette: :D

03:00 PM dremeier[m]: what are these for?^^
03:03 PM Lcvette: for probing routine settings and touch off settings
03:03 PM Lcvette: must remain
03:04 PM Lcvette: if you remmove will fail
03:04 PM Lcvette: they are connected to buttons
03:04 PM Lcvette: through python
03:05 PM Lcvette: and the labels change with the button setting in the gui and that value is pulled into the probing and touch off routines
03:07 PM dremeier[m]: ok, can´t follow the fuction, but anyway
03:07 PM dremeier[m]: thx
03:07 PM Lcvette: just know they must remain for probing to function
03:08 PM Lcvette: they are tied to buttons like probe posn and probe wco
03:08 PM Lcvette: and in the calibrations page
03:08 PM dremeier[m]: will remember :-)

03:11 PM Lcvette: dremeier: they are connected to these buttons
03:13 PM dremeier[m]: good to know
03:13 PM Lcvette: those buttons are important for functionality
03:14 PM Lcvette: for example
03:15 PM Lcvette: "SET WCO ROTATION FOR ANGLE PROBE OPERATIONS" this button will set the zero point of a rotated part with all the correct math and add the rotation offset in the current work coordinate system
03:16 PM Lcvette: with it unchecked it does not set the position but is rather used for locating and finding the corner and determining the engle
03:16 PM Lcvette: * with it unchecked it does not set the position but is rather used for locating and finding the corner and determining the angle
03:16 PM Lcvette: the CAL buttons are to decide if you want to use a single axis calibration for super important one directional probing
03:17 PM Lcvette: removes the tripod error, on mine it repeats to a micron when used
03:17 PM Lcvette: when not used the average is about 0.0001"
03:18 PM Lcvette: the probe WCO and probe POSN buttons determine if you want to set wco to zero or just probe for a location in the current work offset
03:18 PM Lcvette: very handy for measuring things or checking vise parallelism to the axis
03:19 PM Lcvette: once you begin using them you will wonder how you lived without it
03:20 PM ewildgoose[m]: <Lcvette "i would jog next to your part, h"> Seriously? I'm reading your suggestion and trying to figure out why tapping 3mm in is such bad practice? Gmoccapy let's you tap things in?
03:22 PM Lcvette: you are totally welcome to make it the way you want, that is the beautiful thing about this platform it is open for you to tweak as you like
03:23 PM ewildgoose[m]: Hmm. This app has evaporated all my spacing and formatting. I hope the above comes over respectfully. I came here just wondering how to set spindle speed and dro..
03:23 PM Lcvette: dremeier is a great example, he is making things how he wants them to be
03:24 PM Lcvette: but in my strong recommendation, i would get a touch probe
03:24 PM Lcvette: then its one button click
03:24 PM Lcvette: thats the premise this gui was built around
03:24 PM ewildgoose[m]: Sure. Ok. Well for me it would be useful to edit spindle speed directly (and DRO). So my original question was: could someone give me a leg up on starting that please? (I accept you have answered no to accepting such changes upstream)
03:25 PM Lcvette: but like i said its not locked down so you can change anything you want on it]yeah im not going to put them into the main release
03:25 PM Lcvette: start with the tutorials
03:26 PM ewildgoose[m]: I have a touch probe. What I don't have is a quick change spindle. So using the probe isn't a quick change (and looses my z)
03:26 PM Lcvette: set it up like dremeiers
03:26 PM Lcvette: then its even faster then a tool change
03:27 PM Lcvette: no tool change required even
03:27 PM ewildgoose[m]: Yeah. Could do. Could buy a vmc as well...
03:27 PM Lcvette: ok...
03:27 PM Lcvette: im out
03:27 PM Lcvette: later
03:27 PM Lcvette: need to get my parts finshed
03:27 PM ewildgoose[m]: Right now I have a new conversion from Mach 3. Just want to cut some chips really...
03:27 PM Lcvette: procrastinbated it
03:28 PM ewildgoose[m]: Other problems I will eventually overcome are lack of inputs to connect all unit probes. One step at a time though
03:32 PM Lcvette: mesa
03:32 PM Lcvette: all the inputs and outputs you can handle
03:33 PM Lcvette: http://store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=290
03:34 PM Lcvette: you can zero the axis with the zero button then type the ofset in the offset table
03:34 PM Lcvette: that would work and works better because the table reloads the offsets
03:35 PM Lcvette: and is verified by the dro which is a status output for linuxcnc
04:15 PM dremeier[m]: @ewildgoose:matrix.org: please have a look to my repro https://github.com/dremeier/probe_basic
04:15 PM dremeier[m]: there is a dro for spindle-speed you can edit
04:16 PM * dremeier[m] uploaded an image: image.png (19KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/rbQSXYdBoXVxmJcULnPclEuA >
04:18 PM dremeier[m]: @ewildgoose:matrix.org: I also have a mesa extrention for 40 Inputs plus 32 outputs

04:38 PM Lcvette: man i am having the worst luck with taps lately
04:38 PM Lcvette: broke another one today
04:38 PM Lcvette: think i may have to resign myself back to threadmilling
04:38 PM Lcvette: at least for under m6
04:39 PM Lcvette: i did order some more drill bits the next size up, windering if maybe the ones i have are on the lower part of the spectrum
04:40 PM Lcvette: they were US wire size drills an not metric drill bits which is what i just ordered. maybe the hole was a bit tight for the taps.. funny though m3 rocks and rolls without an issue and m6 also but m4 and m5 is a crap shoot
04:41 PM Lcvette: or maybe linuxcnc or the machine isn't liking rogod tapping and i need to get a floating head
04:53 PM ewildgoose[m]: Are you using multi step hand taps? Or those nice machine spiral taps (that seem to cut out debris nicely)?
04:53 PM ewildgoose[m]: I've not done a lot on micro taps but I would be thinking it's hard to do by hand? Need a guide or put it in a drill press or similar?
04:54 PM ewildgoose[m]: <dremeier[m] "there is a dro for spindle-speed"> Thanks. I'll take a look!
04:54 PM Lcvette: rigid tapping
04:54 PM Lcvette: spiral flute cnc taps
04:55 PM ewildgoose[m]: <Lcvette "you can zero the axis with the z"> Ok. I seem to have some basic "error between keyboard and chair" problem then because I can't see how to type anything in the offsets page? All the boxes *appear* to be just labels?
04:55 PM Lcvette: double click
04:56 PM Lcvette: the table not the dros
04:56 PM Lcvette: when zeroed the dro for the offset will have a number in it
04:56 PM Lcvette: for whatever axis you are touching off
04:56 PM Lcvette: just add your tool radius too it
04:59 PM ewildgoose[m]: <Lcvette "rigid tapping"> Ooh I see... I wonder if you can measure or calculate the tolerances you need on that rigid tapping? I wonder if even thread variation or small mismatches in location put more strain than one imagines??
05:02 PM * Lcvette posted a file: manual_offset.mkv (1838KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/clhdrefRMltOGxlOCEzMbxAj >
05:02 PM Lcvette: @ewildgoose:matrix.org: see above
05:04 PM Lcvette: @ewildgoose:matrix.org: the floating tapping heads are a pain becaus eyou typically have one head and multiple taps to change out
05:04 PM Lcvette: so having all your tooling in the ATC isn't possible without multiple multi hundred dollar tapping head tool holders
05:04 PM Lcvette: where as rigid tapping collets are about $30 eac
05:05 PM Lcvette: but i strongly think its the hole size that is an issue as i bought wire sized carbide drills which for those two taps was just a tad undersized
05:06 PM Lcvette: i was htinking it wouldn't matter much in aluminum but it seems to grab them a bit more than i anticipated
05:06 PM Lcvette: have the metric sized drills recommended coming for them
05:06 PM Lcvette: should reduce the chip size as well as the load on the tool itself when reversing
05:07 PM Lcvette: the method used for the offset setting using the table reloads the table in linuxcnc which updates the status correctly
05:08 PM Lcvette: im not sure if a line edit with no reload would work or not but i suspect it may be problematic without a bunch of code auto reloading when data was entered
05:08 PM Lcvette: right now there is a fairly simple method to do what you are trying but again as simple as adding a probe would be, that would save tons of time
09:36 PM hazzy-m: @ewildgoose:matrix.org: I didn’t read the whole conversation, but I like being able to type into the DROs to set positions as well. The original hazzy interface would even accept mathematical expressions in the DROs which is extremely handy.
09:38 PM hazzy-m: But as lcvette says, the beauty of open source software is that if you don’t like something you can change it
09:44 PM Lcvette: hazzy: i was under the impression that you couldn't do that because it didn't reload like the offset table does and might not register the changed offset?
09:44 PM Lcvette: Is that not the case?
09:45 PM hazzy-m: Typing in offsets?
09:45 PM Lcvette: Yes
09:45 PM Lcvette: Typing in dro
09:46 PM hazzy-m: When you’re done typing into the fro it issues an mdi command to set the offset
09:47 PM hazzy-m: It works extremely well
09:48 PM Lcvette: Oh so enter triggers the g10 l20 p
09:48 PM Lcvette: We're should have those then no?
09:48 PM Lcvette: I thought there was some reason we're could not do it
09:49 PM Lcvette: * We should have those then no?
09:49 PM Lcvette: * I thought there was some reason we could not do it
09:50 PM hazzy-m: Yes! It would be fantastic!
09:50 PM Lcvette: Do i just convert top vcplinedits?
09:50 PM hazzy-m: No, we need a DRO line edit wiget
09:51 PM hazzy-m: We can steal all the logic from hazzy
09:51 PM hazzy-m: I’ll work on that
09:51 PM hazzy-m: But sleep now
09:52 PM hazzy-m: It’s been a loooong day lol
09:52 PM Lcvette: Sweet
09:52 PM Lcvette: @ewildgoose:matrix.org: will be happy
09:52 PM hazzy-m: Me too!
09:52 PM Lcvette: Hey some rest,
09:52 PM Lcvette: Hurray!
09:52 PM hazzy-m: Night!
09:52 PM Lcvette: Night
