06:05 AM hazzy-m: Morning
06:13 AM TurBoss: morning
06:14 AM jthornton: morning
08:22 AM hazzy-m: Hendrik: hello
08:23 AM hazzy-m: How are you trying to set spindle speed, the slider on the GUI?
08:47 AM Hendrik[m]: Jepp
08:49 AM Hendrik[m]: Speed override, which shows 150 to 600 but is always 100hz which is 6000 RPM herr
08:49 AM Hendrik[m]: Herr
08:49 AM Hendrik[m]: Here
09:12 AM hazzy-m: And it works on gmoccapy?
09:14 AM Hendrik[m]: Yes, but it was on linuxcnc 2.7, maybe the problem is here
09:49 AM Lcvette: hazzy: i can confirm spindle speed override is not working in probe basic sim either
09:49 AM Lcvette: morning
09:49 AM Lcvette: :D
09:52 AM Lcvette: the sliders in PB are action sliders, do they need to be halsliders or vcpsettingsliders?
09:57 AM * Lcvette uploaded an image: Screenshot_2020-02-24_10-49-52.png (64KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/qnMwIEDLNkqDqDNPxRaXdwwk >
10:22 AM TurBoss: it should be action slider
10:22 AM Lcvette: mornign turboss~
10:22 AM Lcvette: \o/
10:23 AM TurBoss: morning!
10:23 AM Lcvette: do you know the mystery of the spindle override?
10:24 AM TurBoss: does spindle.0.override do something?
10:24 AM Lcvette: lemme try
10:27 AM Lcvette: no change
10:27 AM Lcvette: doesn't change speed
10:27 AM TurBoss: oh
10:27 AM TurBoss: ok
10:28 AM * Lcvette uploaded an image: Screenshot_2020-02-24_11-20-48.png (13KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/UJDrzTlzgVJezWfWDDthUGap >
10:29 AM TurBoss: me is away
10:29 AM Lcvette: go to dev
10:29 AM Lcvette: lol
10:29 AM Lcvette: :D
10:29 AM Lcvette: kiddiung
10:29 AM Lcvette: * kidding
10:29 AM Lcvette: * kidding
10:30 AM Hendrik[m]: 😆 you are awsome guys
10:30 AM TurBoss: https://github.com/kcjengr/qtpyvcp/blob/master/qtpyvcp/actions/spindle_actions.py
10:31 AM TurBoss: Hendrik: hello
10:31 AM TurBoss: I.me is moving to dev
10:31 AM Hendrik[m]: thank you so much 🙂
10:33 AM Lcvette: going to dev?
10:33 AM Lcvette: :o
10:34 AM TurBoss: booting
10:36 AM Lcvette: \o/
10:44 AM TurBoss: Lcvette: you said it doesn't work on sim but it does on atc_sim
10:44 AM Lcvette: works on atc_sim?
10:45 AM Lcvette: checking
10:45 AM TurBoss: vismach simulation reacts to S100 M3
10:50 AM Lcvette: not working on atc sim here
10:52 AM * TurBoss uploaded a video: Peek 24-02-2020 17-44.mp4 (144KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/goqtjUVYZcifNrlbLeIZQVDz >
10:53 AM Lcvette: but it nis not registering on the gui spindle speed setting
10:53 AM TurBoss: ah
10:53 AM Lcvette: no clue whatt eh speed is
10:53 AM Lcvette: * no clue whatt the speed is
10:54 AM Lcvette: turboss, is that with the spindle.0.override?
10:54 AM Lcvette: or no zero
10:55 AM TurBoss: nono
10:55 AM TurBoss: default
10:55 AM TurBoss: non zero
10:55 AM TurBoss: spindle.0 doesn exist for spinfle actions
10:57 AM Lcvette: ok, fixing to test again
10:57 AM TurBoss: cool
10:57 AM Lcvette: the grea background spindle speed should be displaying the current spindle speed
10:57 AM Lcvette: the white box is for the commanded S word
10:58 AM Lcvette: still not working
11:01 AM Lcvette: dunno
11:01 AM Lcvette: maybe the rule needs to be different or have something else added to it?
11:02 AM * Lcvette uploaded an image: Screenshot_2020-02-24_11-55-07.png (28KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/MSQIcGfcuaxvaKvqOQplxzBO >
11:02 AM Lcvette: maybe needs the 0 removed?
11:03 AM Lcvette: tried says channel not valid
11:03 AM Lcvette: need a current spindle.0.speed
11:03 AM dremeier[m]: shouldn´t the motion.spindle−speed−in be connectet in Spindle.HAL?
11:04 AM Lcvette: like the feed rate overrride box has
11:05 AM Lcvette: not sure what you are asking
11:09 AM Lcvette: Or an equation
11:09 AM Lcvette: In the rule
11:16 AM dremeier[m]: what I mean in the hal file the ```net spindle-speed-cmd => spindle.0.speed-in``` should connected to the spindle.0.speed-out or the speed from encoder or so. And in Rules Editor the REAL spindle.0.speed-in should be pulled. NOT the speed cmd.
11:21 AM dremeier[m]: what is behind the "status:spindle.0.speed" is that the spindle-cmd-out or the in?
11:21 AM dremeier[m]: In realworld the spindle-speed out is working - just for info
11:40 AM * dremeier[m] uploaded a video: spindle-Speed.mp4 (5322KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/wWsWIDWwNQfRzhbPCAYbgGrm >
11:43 AM TurBoss: it should work out of the box
11:43 AM TurBoss: but yea thats also posible
11:46 AM dremeier[m]: status:spindle.0.speed from the Rueles Editor is here also not working
11:46 AM TurBoss: just noticed
11:46 AM TurBoss: 😲
11:48 AM dremeier[m]: but what is with the problem from yesterday, with tool in spindle lcnc does not start, could you solve it?
11:50 AM TurBoss: fun how probebasic was missing all the fun
11:51 AM TurBoss: didnt fix the bugs
11:55 AM Lcvette: for alot of folks they may not have an encoder on the spindle
11:55 AM Lcvette: iprobably need to amke an option in settings
11:56 AM Lcvette: to display the calculated value in the actual spindle speed box or the returned value from spindle encoder
11:56 AM Lcvette: i do have a spindle encoder so i I want to have that returned
11:56 AM Lcvette: need to connect like you did in hal probably
12:01 PM TurBoss: Lcvette: if you set feedoverrider and click FWD again it updates the speed label
12:02 PM Lcvette: lol
12:02 PM Lcvette: not sure that is the best method
12:02 PM TurBoss: is how it works now
12:02 PM Lcvette: should be automatically updated probably
12:02 PM TurBoss: yes but what I mean is that the label only gets updated if button pressed
12:02 PM Lcvette: ah
12:02 PM TurBoss: error should be there
12:03 PM Lcvette: error?
12:03 PM TurBoss: non working speed rpm label
12:04 PM TurBoss: spindle
12:05 PM Lcvette: Wonder if we could update it with slider move
12:22 PM * TurBoss uploaded a video: Peek 24-02-2020 19-15.mp4 (481KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/omdUAYnULUeSlXjzgFVRyjBT >
12:24 PM TurBoss: the status channels doesn't notice there is a change in speed becaus its on override
12:24 PM Lcvette: Ah i see
12:25 PM Lcvette: But how to have it update real time with almost position?
12:25 PM Lcvette: So you can watch it move with slider to set the override
01:26 PM Hendrik[m]: but even if i see the 600 rpm instead of the normal 300 in probe_basic, my spindle keeps being at 100hz - even after stopping and starting again the spindle, so maybe an hal issue in my case?
01:27 PM Lcvette: which slider are you using?
01:27 PM Lcvette: show a picture
01:30 PM dremeier[m]: have a look at HAL-show - pins- spindle.0.speed-out
01:30 PM * Hendrik[m] uploaded an image: VirtualBox_LinuxCNC_24_02_2020_20_22_33.png (204KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/jauriarts.org/AFwXnCuBasidlKYXsHzumVDw >
01:30 PM * dremeier[m] sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/WSGGTZAfLTbWmhJfmyHYWcbm >
01:32 PM Lcvette: dremeier: maybe we just set it for real feedback i guess
01:32 PM Lcvette: how did yours look in the designer for that?
01:33 PM Lcvette: ok, that is the override
01:33 PM Lcvette: Hendrik: are you trying to do something different with it?
01:33 PM Lcvette: that changes the spindle speed based on the base sword used
01:34 PM Hendrik[m]: <span class="d-mention d-user">dremeier</span> which vfd are u using?
01:34 PM Lcvette: by a percentage amount
01:34 PM dremeier[m]: <Hendrik[m] "<span class="d-mention d-user">d"> Bonglifioli ACU-410
01:35 PM Hendrik[m]: yeah would be nice to optimize speeds during a running program
01:35 PM Lcvette: it should do that
01:36 PM Lcvette: just the display is not showing a change cuirrently
01:36 PM Hendrik[m]: and it accepts 0-XXv as an pwm signal?
01:36 PM dremeier[m]: Lcvette: ^^
01:36 PM * dremeier[m] uploaded an image: image.png (1002KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/rNLEPyQhavyCREleEhFJEXSL >
01:36 PM dremeier[m]: yes Hendrik
01:37 PM Lcvette: Hendrik: sounds like you have a hal issue
01:37 PM Lcvette: dremeier: what about the ruile for the actual spindle speed box you made there
01:38 PM Lcvette: the blue one
01:38 PM dremeier[m]: <Lcvette "dremeier: what about the ruile f"> net spindle-speed-cmd => qtpyvcp.spindle-speed-dro.in-f
01:38 PM dremeier[m]: thats all^^
01:38 PM Hendrik[m]: the stupid thing is that this worked on gmocappy (2.7)
01:41 PM dremeier[m]: Hendrik: let me see your hal
01:42 PM Hendrik[m]: <span class="d-mention d-user">dremeier</span> https://github.com/HendrikRoth/hildegard
01:44 PM dremeier[m]: do you have an encoder at your spindle, you are using a servo as spindle?
01:46 PM Hendrik[m]: i have just a simple Huanyang vfg
01:46 PM Hendrik[m]: i have just a simple Huanyang vfd
01:46 PM * Hendrik[m] uploaded an image: unknown.png (388KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/jauriarts.org/PGOpZUDZXmZsUQDHnglhVdqD >
01:46 PM dremeier[m]: and why you have the pid in in you spindle?
01:46 PM * Hendrik[m] uploaded an image: unknown.png (123KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/jauriarts.org/SWMxStnrEuISFGghNFiziuld >
01:46 PM Hendrik[m]: and connected it this way (sorry german titles)
01:47 PM dremeier[m]: you should first clean up and make ur hal simple
01:51 PM dremeier[m]: ```net spindle-vel-cmd-rpm <= spindle.0.speed-out => hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.spinout```
01:52 PM dremeier[m]: braucht man bei der 7i76e kein pwm?
01:53 PM dremeier[m]: wir sollen wieder ins englishe wechseln, sonst gibt es ärger :-) oder zu cnc,späne und chaos wechseln
01:53 PM Lcvette: english
01:56 PM dremeier[m]: sorry, u are right, I just mentioned
01:56 PM Lcvette: lol
06:35 PM jthornton: finally got down to the knock sensors this evening...
06:59 PM hazzy-m: jthornton: nice!
06:59 PM hazzy-m: Hendrik: did you get it working?
07:13 PM Hendrik[m]: i am not at the machine at the moment, i have to try the next days 😦
07:38 PM hazzy-m: Hendrik: I think it's hal problem is you have switch from 2.7
07:38 PM hazzy-m: I had the same problem when upgrading my machine
07:39 PM hazzy-m: I can't remember how I fixed it though
07:39 PM hazzy-m: but the VFD would not change speeds until I changed something in my HAL file
07:39 PM hazzy-m: I think it was related to multi spindle

09:31 PM Lcvette: :o
09:31 PM Lcvette: Hazzy you did it?
09:31 PM hazzy-m: working on it
09:32 PM Lcvette: Can i help.
09:32 PM hazzy-m: the sim config was such a mess I had to lean/clean it up a bit first lol
09:32 PM hazzy-m: i was getting claustrophobic
09:32 PM Lcvette: Yes
09:32 PM Lcvette: Sim g for atc branch was a nightmare
09:32 PM hazzy-m: I added a new sim.atc config
09:32 PM Lcvette: Fabulous
09:32 PM hazzy-m: so I can leave everything else alone and compare
09:33 PM hazzy-m: yeah
09:33 PM hazzy-m: now I just have the needed files
09:33 PM Lcvette: Super
09:33 PM hazzy-m: I started off by coping the working vmc_index_inch config over and making sure it all worked right
09:34 PM hazzy-m: then cleaned it up and renamed some files and made sure I had not broken anything
09:34 PM Lcvette: \o/
09:34 PM hazzy-m: so I am modifying a know good working configuration
09:34 PM Lcvette: Smart
09:35 PM hazzy-m: so I can go back thru the commits down the road and see exactly what has and has not been changed
09:35 PM Lcvette: I tried cleaning up the config but they always broke the vismach
09:35 PM Lcvette: Took me weeks to getvthe inch one working
09:35 PM Not-c468: [02probe_basic] 07KurtJacobson pushed 036 commits to 03ATC_Remap [+96/-1/±4] 13https://git.io/JvEMI

09:35 PM Not-c468: [02probe_basic] ... and 3 more commits.
09:35 PM Not-c468: [02probe_basic] 07KurtJacobson created branch 03ATC_Remap - 13https://git.io/JeDwL
09:36 PM Lcvette: I wish were had a vismach guru who could fix its issues
09:36 PM hazzy-m: this one is based on the inch
09:36 PM hazzy-m: and it works
09:36 PM Lcvette: Hurray
09:36 PM hazzy-m: so that's my first set of commits
09:36 PM Lcvette: Yay
09:37 PM Lcvette: If you need rs274 work let me know
09:37 PM hazzy-m: if you run it and watch the terminal it will print the correct pocket numbers as defined in the tool table
09:37 PM travis-ci: kcjengr/probe_basic#306 (ATC_Remap - 671f7c1 : Kurt Jacobson): The build passed.

09:37 PM Lcvette: Nice!
09:37 PM hazzy-m: the logic is not there fore the ATC so it fails there, but getting close
09:38 PM Lcvette: Hurray \o/ :D
09:38 PM * hazzy-m has to go to Philadelphia and then Pittsburgh
09:38 PM hazzy-m: so I may not get much more done this week
09:38 PM Lcvette: /o\
09:38 PM Lcvette: Lol
09:38 PM hazzy-m: but at least wanted to get it up there so you could play with it if you wanted
09:38 PM Lcvette: Man they send you everywhere
09:39 PM Lcvette: Awesome
09:39 PM hazzy-m: some times it is just easier to go then send a tech
09:39 PM Lcvette: Are you in charge of the techs?
09:40 PM hazzy-m: we have sent 2 techs for a week each to this one customer, and the machine is still down, so I'm going to go see what I can find out
09:40 PM Lcvette: Ah
09:40 PM hazzy-m: and gonna make a few courtesy visited while I'm up there
09:40 PM Lcvette: Very cool
09:40 PM Lcvette: What kind of tech stuff do they do?
09:42 PM hazzy-m: No, thankfully. We have a head of technical services that manages the techs, so I don't have to get drawn into that stuff unless its really bad
09:43 PM hazzy-m: everything from PMs, to simple trouble shooting of control problems to complete machine rebuilds
09:43 PM hazzy-m: we have a whole rebuild department in fact
09:43 PM Lcvette: Wow
09:43 PM Lcvette: Nice
09:44 PM hazzy-m: we have 1000s of machines out there, and have been in business for 30years, so there are a lot of old machines with good bones
09:45 PM Lcvette: So some control updates i would imagine
09:45 PM hazzy-m: we buy them back or take them as trade ins and then stip them down to bare castings and build them back up with new controls etc.
09:45 PM hazzy-m: the look like brand new machines when they are done
09:45 PM Lcvette: Nice
09:46 PM Lcvette: Do they have small machines or only monsters
09:46 PM Lcvette: What's the website
09:46 PM hazzy-m: yes, we have small hand folders starting at just a few grand
09:47 PM hazzy-m: in fact most of our sales are small machines
09:47 PM hazzy-m: but I'm on the industrial side so don't do as much with the smaller machines
09:48 PM hazzy-m: https://www.metalforming-usa.com/
09:49 PM hazzy-m: our website sucks lol
09:49 PM hazzy-m: ok, better sleep
09:50 PM hazzy-m: I really want one of these: https://www.metalforming-usa.com/schechtl/handbrakes/ukf/
09:50 PM Lcvette: Ok night,
09:50 PM hazzy-m: they never come in for rebuild, unfortunately
09:50 PM Lcvette: Travel safe!
09:51 PM hazzy-m: so I guess I'll just have to bribe one of the warehouse guys to drop one for me :)
09:51 PM hazzy-m: thanks
09:51 PM hazzy-m: gn8
09:53 PM Lcvette: How much is that machine
09:53 PM Lcvette: Looks line it can handle both way box folds
09:53 PM Lcvette: Very cool
09:53 PM Lcvette: I need one
09:53 PM Lcvette: Bet ours way out of my budget
09:53 PM Lcvette: * Bet its way out of my budget
09:57 PM hazzy-m: $11400.00
