12:50 AM Lcvette: is that how you change the 1-9 to G54-G59.3
12:50 AM Lcvette: ?
12:51 AM TurBoss: yes thats next
12:58 AM * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/HwFWvOzIFIEapGWingBWaudC >

05:48 AM jthornton: morning
06:07 AM * TurBoss uploaded a video: Peek 04-10-2019 12-59.mp4 (163KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/exqGDryyYNYScyjugVckDlMQ >
06:11 AM jthornton: nice, at the end I get video can't be played because the file is corrupt
06:11 AM jthornton: at 9 seconds
06:16 AM jthornton: TurBoss, is that changing the coordinate system as well?
06:17 AM TurBoss: yes
06:17 AM hazzy-m: Awesome work TurBoss!
06:18 AM TurBoss: ty
06:18 AM jthornton: that does look awesome
06:28 AM TurBoss: jthornton: by changing you mean the values?
06:28 AM TurBoss: not yet
06:29 AM jthornton: no, changing from G54 to G55 in LinuxCNC
06:29 AM jthornton: when you press the button
06:30 AM TurBoss: yes it does
06:30 AM jthornton: nice
06:30 AM TurBoss: thanks
06:53 AM Lcvette: \o/
06:53 AM Lcvette: morning
06:56 AM Lcvette: on my dev machine i have an icon for the designer and double click to open and save anything
06:56 AM Lcvette: the graphical interface of the designer is pretty intuitive for minor changes
06:56 AM Lcvette: fornthe probe default values you siimple double click in the box and change the text
07:01 AM Lcvette: hazzy where is the new probe basic docs site?
07:01 AM Lcvette: not the old pyside one but the new one you setup?
07:01 AM Lcvette: i can't find it for the life of me
07:08 AM Lcvette: TurBoss: mkonring turboss
07:08 AM Lcvette: do you know where the website is?
07:19 AM TurBoss: https://qtpyvcp.kcjengr.com/
07:19 AM TurBoss: oh
07:20 AM TurBoss: new docs?
07:22 AM Lcvette: https://kcjengr.github.io/probe_basic/quick_start.html
07:23 AM Lcvette: G hazzy had posted this but I didn't know it wasn't finished yet
07:23 AM Lcvette: With images and stuff
07:23 AM hazzy-m: Yeah, I just got the infrastructure in place
07:23 AM Lcvette: Ah
07:24 AM Lcvette: Ok
07:24 AM hazzy-m: The screenshots are in the _static folder
07:24 AM Lcvette: Can I edit that sure somehow?
07:25 AM Lcvette: Site
07:25 AM Lcvette: Add the install instructions etc?
07:26 AM Lcvette: Or is it code only
07:26 AM Lcvette: Lol
07:28 AM Not-5e4d: [02qtpyvcp] 07TurBoss pushed 031 commit to 03offset_table [+0/-0/±2] 13https://git.io/JecQE
07:28 AM Not-5e4d: [02qtpyvcp] 07TurBoss 03333b1d2 - Row labels
07:29 AM Lcvette: What #$_-++&_$#
07:29 AM Lcvette: You got to labels?
07:29 AM TurBoss: yes
07:29 AM Lcvette: \o/
07:31 AM hazzy-m: Lcvette: easy to edit.? the files are all in the docs/source folder. They are in restructuredText which has a lot of good info online
07:31 AM hazzy-m: Oops, didn't mean a question
07:33 AM Lcvette: ok
07:33 AM Lcvette: will have a look shortly
07:33 AM Lcvette: gotta checkout turboss's work!
07:34 AM Lcvette: turboss \o/
07:34 AM Lcvette: fantastic
07:34 AM TurBoss: hurray
07:34 AM Lcvette: hurray!
07:35 AM TurBoss: now to figure how to save the data
07:35 AM Lcvette: lcvette goes in to edit the roaws now
07:38 AM Lcvette: TurBoss: did anyhting i posted lastn ight help?
07:39 AM TurBoss: yes you where close
07:39 AM Lcvette: \o/
07:41 AM Lcvette: can i change the row data size?
07:41 AM Lcvette: sorry row header font size
07:41 AM TurBoss: not sure...
07:41 AM TurBoss: is not on designer?
07:42 AM Lcvette: that changes the font size globally in the table
07:43 AM Lcvette: i would like the table text 15 and the headers 14 or maybe even 3
07:43 AM Lcvette: for the row headers
07:43 AM Lcvette: the column headers can be same as data text sze
07:44 AM Lcvette: the rows headers look "bigger" optical illusion because of their color combo
07:45 AM Lcvette: i found
07:45 AM Lcvette: \o/
07:45 AM TurBoss: yes?!
07:45 AM TurBoss: cool
07:46 AM Lcvette: i had to add a second fond line in the stylesheet to differentiate between the headerview and tablewidget
07:46 AM * Lcvette sent a long message: < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/ecJxiPyRwacPLJhCkHfsFSEs >
07:46 AM TurBoss: I'm not sure ond how the workflow of the save function of the offsetable should be
07:47 AM Lcvette: ok
07:47 AM Lcvette: i was thinking same as tool table?
07:47 AM TurBoss: yes but I mean
07:48 AM TurBoss: the tooltable writes the file again
07:48 AM TurBoss: we can't o we don't wan't to do that here
07:48 AM Lcvette: click in cell change number, tab to next axis change number then save and reload?
07:48 AM TurBoss: or &
07:48 AM Lcvette: oh ok
07:48 AM Lcvette: just make it a visible table?
07:48 AM TurBoss: we should need to issue 9 g10 l2 etc
07:49 AM TurBoss: if we can figure a nice way
07:49 AM Lcvette: i know how i could do it in ngc
07:49 AM Lcvette: lol thats the only code i know
07:49 AM Lcvette: i would make the P# correspond to the row being edited
07:50 AM Lcvette: and then all of the cells would correspond to the following axis
07:50 AM Lcvette: but i don't know what that looks like in python
07:50 AM TurBoss: yes but I have 9 offsets
07:50 AM TurBoss: i should do 9 times
07:51 AM Lcvette: correct
07:51 AM TurBoss: no a single way?=
07:51 AM Lcvette: so if row G54 was being edited you would need it to populate P1
07:52 AM Lcvette: single way?
07:52 AM Lcvette: you mean do all at the same time?
07:53 AM TurBoss: yes
07:53 AM TurBoss: if whe fo 9 G10 L20 P1 XYZR
07:53 AM Lcvette: no
07:53 AM Lcvette: dunno
07:53 AM TurBoss: we will issue 9 mdi commands when save button in clicked
07:53 AM Lcvette: unless the save command went through the whole offset table everytime
07:53 AM Lcvette: yes
07:53 AM TurBoss: clear and reload
07:53 AM Lcvette: was typing at same time as you
07:53 AM Lcvette: lol
07:54 AM Lcvette: clear should only clear the highlighted row
07:54 AM Lcvette: i could make a clear row and cl=ear all button
07:54 AM TurBoss: ok
07:54 AM TurBoss: that easi
07:54 AM Lcvette: want me to do that?
07:55 AM TurBoss: I'll focus on save
07:57 AM Lcvette: ok
08:29 AM * Lcvette uploaded an image: Screenshot_2019-10-04_09-23-36.png (25KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/AkppfOytzoyAJVRGIfTuADSF >
08:31 AM Lcvette: turboss i added the clear row and clear all buttons
08:32 AM TurBoss: okk
08:35 AM Lcvette: We how nice the columns and rows fit?
08:35 AM Lcvette: \o/
08:39 AM Lcvette: pushed
08:40 AM Lcvette: what can i help research?
08:40 AM Lcvette: turboss ^^^
08:41 AM TurBoss: hmmm
08:44 AM Lcvette: anything you are stuck on?
08:50 AM Lcvette: i was looking at slots
08:50 AM Lcvette: did you add these?
08:50 AM * Lcvette uploaded an image: Screenshot_2019-10-04_09-44-46.png (25KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/sETRKMAzmiteGHVZpDmnvJQP >
08:52 AM Lcvette: i just connected the buttons, seemed like what we needed but doesn't seem to work
08:58 AM TurBoss: only load works
08:58 AM Lcvette: ah
08:59 AM Lcvette: are you working on now?
08:59 AM Lcvette: or other things?
09:00 AM TurBoss: i was on the sofa thinking the plan
09:00 AM Lcvette: lol
09:00 AM TurBoss: 😋
09:00 AM Lcvette: ok
09:00 AM TurBoss: no on battle station
09:00 AM Lcvette: lcvette is gonna do some work
09:00 AM TurBoss: * now on battle station
09:01 AM Lcvette: but will be available if you need me
09:01 AM TurBoss: good
09:01 AM Lcvette: just type my name so i get notified
09:01 AM Lcvette: oh ok
09:01 AM Lcvette: i will stay
09:01 AM TurBoss: don't worry
09:07 AM TurBoss: there is a bug
09:07 AM TurBoss: in the way I store the table
09:07 AM TurBoss: it has 10 rows
09:07 AM Lcvette: :o
09:10 AM Lcvette: whats that mean?
09:10 AM Lcvette: i need to ass another row?
09:11 AM TurBoss: no some index is wrong
09:12 AM TurBoss: a friend of mine will come in like 10 min and I'll be afk
09:12 AM TurBoss: I'll fix latter
09:12 AM Lcvette: ok
09:12 AM Lcvette: lcvette has shop work to do
09:12 AM Lcvette: leak bugs in the enclosure
09:13 AM TurBoss: good luck
09:16 AM Lcvette: bleh
09:16 AM Lcvette: lol
09:16 AM Lcvette: hate leaks, gonna be a messy day
09:18 AM Lcvette: TurBoss: do you know how to fix a file with dos style line endings?
09:30 AM JT-Shop2: save as
09:32 AM Lcvette: we fixed that issue now another popped up
09:32 AM * Lcvette uploaded an image: image.png (1739KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/eDUEMZsMXiramdScmAjWBSvo >
09:33 AM Lcvette: this is a buddy running gmoccapy
10:01 AM * jthornton can't even spell gmaocappy
10:05 AM jthornton: has he ran that config before or just trying?
10:58 AM Lcvette: hes been running it for a few years
10:58 AM Lcvette: never updated linux
10:58 AM Lcvette: still hasn't updated
10:58 AM jthornton: what did he change?
10:58 AM Lcvette: turned on touch probe in hal that was already there
10:58 AM Lcvette: but turned off and still gets the same error
10:59 AM jthornton: the first line looks like an issue
10:59 AM Lcvette: ok
10:59 AM Lcvette: thats a good place to start
10:59 AM Lcvette: that is his tool probe number
11:02 AM jthornton: copy and paste is way better than a screen shot that only shows part of the information...
11:03 AM jthornton: time to get the Spyder out and get ready to head out...
11:10 AM Lcvette: yup
11:10 AM Lcvette: he put P99 in the tool table
11:15 AM Lcvette: turboss do you remember if the pocket number can be anything?
11:15 AM Lcvette: or is it just the tool number count can't be more than 56?
11:16 AM TurBoss: atc tools can be anything
11:25 AM Lcvette: k
12:26 PM Tom_L: tip of the day: don't use microsoft word as a programming editor.
12:40 PM Tom_itx: Lcvette, http://linuxcnc.org/docs/html/gcode/tool-compensation.html#sec:tool-table
12:40 PM Tom_itx: maximum number of entries in the tool table is 56. The maximum tool and pocket number is 99999.
01:57 PM Lcvette: Tom_itx: yeah wasn't sure with probe basics setup for the ATC
01:57 PM Lcvette: If there was anything different than the standard linuxcnc setup
01:57 PM Lcvette: Thanks!
01:57 PM Lcvette: I finally got the washdown working on a pressure switch
01:57 PM Lcvette: Just squeeze the trigger and you get flow
01:58 PM Lcvette: \o/
01:58 PM Lcvette: Had to replace one of the springs in the squareD pressure switch to get it to cut off at a lower pressure then the lowest unit at Lowe's carried 20-40psi
02:07 PM Tom_L: nice
02:20 PM Lcvette: so now all my piping is leak free, all the pumps are working and i fixed a few easy to fix leaks in the enclosure, now im letting it dry out so i can epoxy the pinhol leaks ate the two leaking welded corners in the front of the pan
02:20 PM Lcvette: if i didn't have bad luck i'd have no luck at all
02:20 PM Lcvette: lol
02:21 PM Lcvette: eventually something is just gonna go easy
02:21 PM Lcvette: and i will be so jaded i won't be able to trust it
02:21 PM Lcvette: lol
02:35 PM Tom_L: chinese metal is porous
02:37 PM Tom_L: done any testing on your f360 post?
04:01 PM Lcvette: no not yet, going to get the machine 100% so its not a project when i need start using it
04:01 PM Lcvette: otherwise what happoens is things left undone tend never to get done]
04:01 PM Lcvette: leaks i can't live with
04:01 PM Lcvette: they gotta be fixed
04:27 PM jthornton: made it to Murray Ky!
04:53 PM Lcvette: wow thats a haul
04:53 PM Lcvette: from where?
05:07 PM jthornton: not that far 175 miles from Poplar Bluff if you follow the dumb GPS lol
05:07 PM jthornton: almost ran out of gas in the Spyder
06:10 PM Lcvette: oh no
06:11 PM Lcvette: i don't know why but i was thinking you lived in Montana
06:26 PM Tom_L[m]: Does anybody?
06:26 PM Lcvette: thought he was closer to the west coast
06:27 PM Lcvette: but i think i confused him and rougish
06:28 PM Lcvette: his location
06:29 PM Tom_L[m]: About a stone's throw from me
06:30 PM Lcvette: where are you at?
06:50 PM Lcvette: is turboss around?
06:50 PM Lcvette: or are you off partying?
07:12 PM Tom_L: we all abandon you
08:16 PM jthornton-: yea roguish[m] lives in cali
08:16 PM * hazzy-m is finaly home
08:16 PM roguish[m]: who me?
08:17 PM jthornton-: I think so
08:18 PM * hazzy-m spent as much as a small house today on carpet, power and air for FABTECH :O
08:18 PM Lcvette: o/
08:18 PM hazzy-m: yo
08:18 PM Lcvette: fabtech is like mini imts?
08:18 PM jthornton-: hazzy-m, you setting up for the show yet?
08:19 PM hazzy-m: jthornton-: getting everything ready, starting to crate stuff up
08:20 PM jthornton-: sounds like crunch time
08:20 PM hazzy-m: but the MetalCon show is first, have to ship 22 machines for that show next week
08:20 PM jthornton-: wow
08:22 PM hazzy-m: its oct 16-18th, but its a much more laid back show and we are the big dawgs there so they treat us like royalty, not so at FABTECH
08:22 PM jthornton-: well that's nice to get treated like big dawgs
08:24 PM hazzy-m: it is, we get whatever cranes, versa lifts and labor we need, whenever we need them at metal con, at FABTECH its almost impossible to get the rigging equip we nead since the big guys get first dibs
08:27 PM hazzy-m: the heaviest machine we will have at FABTECH is 74,600 lbs, so I tried to guesstimate when we will need to move it and put in a reservation for the crane, but we'll see how that goes ...
08:28 PM jthornton-: what a difference in attitudes
08:30 PM jthornton-: 22 folders or 22 machines including some folders?
08:31 PM hazzy-m: 22 machiens total, only 5 folders, the rest are roll formers, coil handling machiens, slitters etc.
08:32 PM hazzy-m: we will only have 4 folders at FABTECH, we brought 11 machines last year and it was just too much money/work for the payback
08:38 PM jthornton-: fabtech sounds like an expensive place to show your stuff
08:39 PM jthornton-: I hope you have some videos of the machines lol they sound fun
08:39 PM hazzy-m: yes, my personal opinion would be to scrap it and use the money we save to have quarterly open houses, we could even pay the flights for people to attend and come out ahead no problem
08:40 PM hazzy-m: They are awesome!
08:42 PM jthornton-: yea sometimes it's better to have a captive audience that is interested in your machines
08:43 PM jthornton-: I'm in Murray Ky is why I'm still at the computer lol
08:44 PM hazzy-m: This is the machine I was in germany to watch its final construction and learn how to run. It will make it's debut at FABTECH: https://youtu.be/ZcpZcLqsavs
08:44 PM hazzy-m: jthornton-: nice! What you there for? Your not up this late usualy, must be more boring then me there lol
08:47 PM jthornton-: a small Spyder get together I go to every year, we just got back from dinner
08:47 PM jthornton-: the video is awesome
08:48 PM hazzy-m: The drive ont he rotating plate on that machine is absolutly ingenious, it uses two identical gear trains, with two servo motors with an offset in the command position, so they they fight eachother to remove all backlash
08:48 PM jthornton-: nice, I was wondering about that
08:49 PM jthornton-: the up/down folding is so awesome
08:49 PM hazzy-m: I took a video of it when the gear box was still open, will try to find it
08:50 PM jthornton-: I'm trying to get a DJI Phantom 3 Advanced and have a line on a used one
08:52 PM * hazzy-m uploaded an image: image.png (901KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/UeaaPdvGaGKuXYkrbvDRXlWh >
08:53 PM hazzy-m: Sweet! What would you use it for, fun?
08:53 PM jthornton-: yea, I have a few drones now but want one like the DJI
08:53 PM jthornton-: ah one gear is off in the photo
08:54 PM Tom_L: are most of em satelite controlled?
08:54 PM jthornton-: no
08:54 PM jthornton-: they use gps to maintain position and to fly
08:55 PM Tom_L: do some monitor battery and go into 'return home' mode when it's half gone?
08:55 PM jthornton-: for follow me and return to home the connected tablet or phone has to have gps as well
08:56 PM jthornton-: yea the dji has a smart battery
08:56 PM Tom_L: nice
08:56 PM Tom_L: my bud has one but i dunno what it is. he couldn't figure out why it wouldn't come on until he took it outside the first time :)
08:56 PM jthornton-: not really long flight time of 23 minutes but if you know it's limits it's ok
08:57 PM jthornton-: yea drones like the dji phantom need gps sat connections
08:59 PM Tom_L: hazzy-m you just make brakes?
08:59 PM Tom_L: any punch presses etc?
08:59 PM jthornton-: they are folders lol
09:00 PM Tom_L: shows what i know about em
09:00 PM Tom_L: fancy brake
09:01 PM jthornton-: pretty much a fancy brake however if you watch that video you can see why they are not brakes
09:01 PM Tom_L: i did
09:01 PM Tom_L: pretty cool
09:02 PM jthornton-: yea the up/down folding is awesome
09:03 PM Tom_L: https://contechusa.com/
09:03 PM Tom_L: my bud had that place until he died
09:03 PM Tom_L: i think the head engineer took over
09:04 PM Tom_L: they did cutting presses for signs etc
09:04 PM Tom_L: large decals etc
09:05 PM Tom_L: that's how i got all the 3M sanding disks i have
09:05 PM Tom_L: boxes full from test runs
09:06 PM jthornton-: I have a bunch of BS engines from building machines for them
09:07 PM Tom_L: one time i got a bunch of the absorbent material used in diapers
09:07 PM Tom_L: he did a press for those
09:07 PM hazzy-m: Tom_L: Whoa, tthat contech equipment is pretty neat!
09:07 PM hazzy-m: “If you need a machine and don’t buy it, then you will ultimately find you have paid for it but don’t have it.” Henry Ford
09:07 PM hazzy-m: amen
09:08 PM Tom_L: heh
09:09 PM Tom_L: he did the press that cut the firebird decal on the 70's firebirds
09:09 PM hazzy-m: Tom_L: just folders, shears and coil processing machines
09:09 PM Tom_L: that sort of stuff is amazing
09:10 PM hazzy-m: https://www.metalforming-usa.com/
09:10 PM hazzy-m: Thats awesome! WOnder if any of those machies are still around
09:11 PM Tom_L: they did alot of sign presses and laminators for road signs etc
09:13 PM jthornton-: say goodnight Gracie
09:14 PM hazzy-m: BTW, if any of you need sheetmetal parts, and they are somewhat intersting and can be formed on a folder, let me know. You cover shipping to you and 50% of material cost. I hate running demo parts that just end up in the dumpster
09:16 PM Tom_L: heh
09:17 PM hazzy-m: parts can be up to 157" long and .25" mild steel, and down to 12" square
09:17 PM Tom_L: do any SS?
09:17 PM Lcvette: :o
09:17 PM Tom_L: not that i need any...
09:17 PM Lcvette: I do!!!
09:17 PM Tom_L: just curious
09:17 PM hazzy-m: sure, even acrylic and non metalic
09:17 PM Tom_L: nice
09:18 PM Lcvette: I need parts for the enclosure on my lathe
09:18 PM hazzy-m: right now I have a bunch of .125" thich by 12' x 3' SS blanks to form
09:19 PM hazzy-m: Lcvette: sure! all I need are STP or DXF
09:19 PM Lcvette: I have some already carded up
09:19 PM Lcvette: Can do stp
09:19 PM Tom_L: trying to figure out how to open turbos offset table branch in designer...
09:19 PM Lcvette: When do you need by?
09:20 PM hazzy-m: Tom_L: double click on the branch
09:20 PM Tom_L: i'm not sure i'm looking at the right one though
09:20 PM Tom_L: i found it in .local
09:20 PM Tom_L: the .py file anyway
