05:14 AM hazzy-m: morning
05:29 AM Tom_L: hey
05:30 AM jthornton: morning
09:04 AM roguish[m]: good morning from the left coast....
09:13 AM jthornton: morning
09:17 AM roguish[m]: how are the chicks doing?
09:19 AM jthornton: spoiled lol
09:19 AM jthornton: Molly is molting big time so her nickname is Porky Pine now
09:22 AM roguish[m]: did you ever get the killer dogs?
09:22 AM jthornton: not yet
09:24 AM jthornton: a different pack killed and was eating his goats the other day in broad daylight, he killed 4 or 5 of them
10:56 AM Lcvette: Oh no, still have wild dog problems?
10:56 AM Lcvette: We have coyotes here now
11:15 AM jthornton: we have coyotes, fox, black bear but by far the worst is dogs
11:16 AM jthornton: yea till they are all gone
12:33 PM Lcvette: We have all of those as well, bit coyotes migrated here over the last 30 or so years, now they are becoming a problem

04:55 PM Lcvette: What a day, was adjusting the enclosure legs and one of the nite I side the keg broke free, so havld to remove it cut it open grind all the paint off and clean and reweld the nut back on then reassemble
04:56 PM Lcvette: Then I filled the coolant tank 40 some odd gallons only to find the drain plug had a leak.. so I pumped all the coolant out and fixed that real quick
04:56 PM Lcvette: Then refilled the trough and fired up the coola t to find the enclosure has a leak somewhere
04:57 PM Lcvette: And my washdown setup is not working
04:57 PM Lcvette: Been one of those days
04:58 PM Lcvette: On a lighter note, the flood coolant pump seems to have plenty of flow and pressure with all 4 nozzles wide open
04:59 PM * Lcvette uploaded a video: scv_1570050829440.mp4 (3337KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/tjCvOKtOPzuEQKjCSAHlrqrV >
05:00 PM Tom_L: made in china
05:00 PM Lcvette: Typical Chinese quality control
05:02 PM Tom_L: i like those that have the thru spindle coolant nozzles
05:02 PM Tom_L: ring around the spindle
05:03 PM Tom_L: looks like you could make a big mess with those just fine though :)
05:03 PM Lcvette: they flow well enoug to clear chip and lubricate cutting tool
05:04 PM Lcvette: i would love through spindle colant but that would have added cost that i didn't have in my budget at the time of purchase
05:05 PM Tom_L: all ready to cut chips now
05:05 PM Lcvette: ring around the spindle with the atc wouldn't work
05:05 PM Lcvette: would hit the carousel cover on tool changes
05:05 PM Lcvette: so i did 4 nozzles that i can adjust to get almost fully circles around the machine
05:05 PM Tom_L: i think it would. some are C shaped
05:05 PM Tom_L: dunno
05:06 PM Lcvette: i plan on adding adjustable coolant nozzles that adjkust to the tool height eventually
05:06 PM Lcvette: not yet, have to clean and fix the enclosure leak first
05:06 PM Lcvette: and figure out why my automatice pressure switch controlled washdown isn't working
05:07 PM Tom_L: valve like a sink sprayer?
05:18 PM Lcvette: its supposed to be a pressure switch
05:18 PM Lcvette: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G78KR7V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
05:21 PM jthornton: runs on 0v AC?
05:35 PM Tom_L: coolin down here and started to rain
05:40 PM jthornton: now it's looking like rain here sunday, might get wet riding home from Murray Ky
06:23 PM roguish[m]: my mosfets and drivers just showed up.. now i can attempt to fix the 7i40's........yeah.
06:23 PM jthornton: tiny things?
06:25 PM roguish[m]: pretty small. especially the driver chips. smd. going to be interesting..
06:25 PM roguish[m]: worth a try though. discussed it with pcw.
06:26 PM roguish[m]: gonna try this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0019UZP7I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
06:28 PM roguish[m]: and lots of youtube vidies.....
06:28 PM jthornton: interesting stuff
06:29 PM roguish[m]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=FTQqjggeklo
06:29 PM jthornton: I wonder how it works but I don't wonder enough to watch a video during metered time lol
06:29 PM roguish[m]: it'll be an adventure.
06:30 PM jthornton: 39 seconds I can watch
06:30 PM jthornton: looks like it works
06:35 PM roguish[m]: has a low eutectic temperature so it melts with the solder, but then stays liquid long enough to just pick off the component, then clean up with coppper solder wick
06:36 PM jthornton: yea saw the short video looks like it is some good stuff but might take a bit of practice on a larger chip
06:49 PM Tom_L: you can mask the area with foil if you're using hot air and are worried about sensitive components
07:35 PM roguish[m]: wow. got the first mosfet off. it's about 1/4 x 1/4 inch. not too difficult.
07:36 PM roguish[m]: also got my digital microscope working in debian... using a code called 'cheese' in synaptic.
07:45 PM roguish[m]: 2nd modfet off.
07:50 PM TurBoss: hello
07:51 PM hazzy-m: hey
07:54 PM Lcvette: \o/ o/
07:55 PM Lcvette: Hazzy and turboss here!
07:55 PM Lcvette: Hurray!
07:55 PM hazzy-m: o/
07:55 PM TurBoss: \o/
07:56 PM Lcvette: \o//
07:56 PM Lcvette: Lol
07:56 PM hazzy-m: hey, does anybody know of a good high-speed wire or chain hoist? Only needs to have a 1000lbs capacity..
07:57 PM Lcvette: High speed?
07:57 PM hazzy-m: all I can find are the junk ones like Horror Fright sells
07:57 PM hazzy-m: faster than a normal chain hoist
07:58 PM hazzy-m: 15-20fpm would be nice
07:58 PM roguish[m]: and a driver chip off. it's about 1/8 x 3/16. 4 legs on each long side.
07:59 PM roguish[m]: hazzy: try northern tools.
07:59 PM hazzy-m: roguish: nice! Using hot air?
07:59 PM roguish[m]: https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/NTESearch?storeId=6970&ipp=48&Ntt=chain+fall
08:00 PM roguish[m]: hazzy: no. chipquik. read upwards a bit;
08:01 PM roguish[m]: therer's a link back at 4:20
08:05 PM hazzy-m: wow, he makes that look easy!
08:07 PM * roguish[m] uploaded an image: mosfet.jpg (628KB) < https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/BtXXnMfTuSpMHJpSNLaRGmdE >
08:08 PM roguish[m]: the mosef driver is the smaller on. mosfet the larger.
08:33 PM TurBoss: hazzy: Filewatcher works
08:33 PM TurBoss: \ø/
08:33 PM TurBoss: I only have some issues with some rows not displaying correctly
08:33 PM Not-5e4d: [02qtpyvcp] 07TurBoss pushed 031 commit to 03offset_table [+0/-0/±2] 13https://git.io/JecG1

08:39 PM TurBoss: duno whats wrong on 1 and 6
08:39 PM hazzy-m: saweet!
08:39 PM TurBoss: 😐️
08:40 PM hazzy-m: looking at the code, looks good!
08:40 PM hazzy-m: 1 and 6 are special :)
08:40 PM TurBoss: thanks
08:40 PM TurBoss: is just a tooltable fork
08:40 PM TurBoss: some parts still missing

08:45 PM roguish[m]: 'and the mosfets......
08:45 PM roguish[m]: dinner time/
08:45 PM TurBoss: profit
08:56 PM Not-5e4d: [02qtpyvcp] 07TurBoss pushed 031 commit to 03offset_table [+0/-0/±2] 13https://git.io/JecGN
08:56 PM Not-5e4d: [02qtpyvcp] 07TurBoss 03bd685f9 - WIP offset table init with floats
08:57 PM Tom_L: no comma after 9
08:58 PM Tom_L: ln77
08:58 PM Tom_L: howzitgoin TurBoss?
08:58 PM TurBoss: good catch
09:00 PM TurBoss: also data is fixed in ABCUVWXYZR
09:01 PM TurBoss: it doesn't takes the custom headers
09:01 PM TurBoss: header will show XYZABR but table data is ABCUVW
09:01 PM Tom_L: you're not trying to write to the .var file after the discussion yesterday are you?
09:02 PM Tom_L: reading on startup i think is ok
09:02 PM TurBoss: to write it I thinkg that mdi is fine
09:02 PM TurBoss: * to write it I think that mdi is fine
09:03 PM TurBoss: I also not sure what was said
09:03 PM TurBoss: i forgot lol
09:03 PM TurBoss: a hint?
09:03 PM Tom_L: not a good idea to write to it
09:03 PM Tom_L: linuxcnc handles it
09:04 PM Tom_L: is the sum of it
09:04 PM TurBoss: yeah
09:04 PM TurBoss: read the file is ahack too anyway
09:05 PM TurBoss: also noticed that some vars are missing
09:06 PM TurBoss: in the param file
09:06 PM TurBoss: 1 and 6
09:06 PM TurBoss: you told me that yesterday
09:07 PM Tom_L: i did?
09:07 PM TurBoss: hmmmm
09:07 PM TurBoss: no it seems
09:07 PM TurBoss: ah was the R position
09:07 PM Tom_L: there are other things stored in the file besides just the offsets
09:08 PM Tom_L: and 5220 determines which offset is active
09:08 PM Tom_L: 1 is default which sets G54
09:09 PM Tom_L: valid are 1-9
09:11 PM TurBoss: I can get the active one from python
09:11 PM Tom_L: yeah, just saying... that's what that var is for
09:12 PM TurBoss: ok
10:02 PM TurBoss: aparently the fswatcher is not able to see the param file changes made from linuxcnc but yes the ones i made with the editor by hand
10:03 PM TurBoss: wich was the problem hazzy had previously so hit the same problem
10:41 PM Lcvette: TurBoss (@TurBoss:matrix.org): \o/ so no way to do it?
10:42 PM TurBoss: by reading the params file no
10:42 PM TurBoss: or seems no
10:43 PM Lcvette: What other way is there?
10:43 PM Lcvette: But wait
10:43 PM Lcvette: Can you capture the current we work offset? The active one of it changes?
10:44 PM TurBoss: yes
10:44 PM Lcvette: Ok, that should be all we need if we can read the parade file at start up
10:44 PM Lcvette: Param
10:46 PM Lcvette: If we can read the parade file at start up with all the stored offsets, then only new ones will need to be captured which requires setting the current offset on probe basic
10:46 PM Lcvette: No?
10:46 PM TurBoss: that can work
10:46 PM Lcvette: That should be all we need
10:47 PM Lcvette: Just won't be able to mass enter offsets
10:47 PM TurBoss: if we could add a method on linuxcnc
10:48 PM Lcvette: But something is better than nothing 😰
10:48 PM Lcvette: Then you would become part of the matrix
10:48 PM TurBoss: lol
10:52 PM Lcvette: Can enter offsets manually?
10:58 PM TurBoss: https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/blob/master/lib/python/gladevcp/offsetpage_widget.py#L154
10:58 PM TurBoss: this just reads the file every 500ms
11:03 PM Lcvette: reading now
11:03 PM Lcvette: :o
11:03 PM Lcvette: that would work?
11:03 PM Lcvette: gladevcp?
11:09 PM Lcvette: looks like at the bottom he had an offset page too
11:18 PM Lcvette: TurBoss: still there?
11:18 PM TurBoss: I think figured the issue
11:18 PM TurBoss: now figure how to solve
11:19 PM TurBoss: :P
11:19 PM Lcvette: \o/
11:19 PM Lcvette: you figured out the issue
11:19 PM Lcvette: hurray!
11:19 PM Lcvette: thats a big step!
11:50 PM Not-5e4d: [02qtpyvcp] 07TurBoss pushed 032 commits to 03offset_table [+0/-0/±3] 13https://git.io/JeccS
11:50 PM Not-5e4d: [02qtpyvcp] 07TurBoss 03336a57e - remove extra coma
11:50 PM Not-5e4d: [02qtpyvcp] 07TurBoss 03d4ec3d9 - use absolute paths on fs watch
11:50 PM TurBoss: \o/
11:50 PM Lcvette: Yeah?
11:51 PM Lcvette: You did it¿?
11:51 PM Lcvette: \o/
11:51 PM TurBoss: if you could test it
11:52 PM Lcvette: Sure! How?
11:53 PM Lcvette: Is it in probe basic?
11:53 PM TurBoss: for now its readonly
11:53 PM TurBoss: with the kraken checkout the offsets branch
11:53 PM Lcvette: Ok
11:53 PM Lcvette: Then what do I open?
11:54 PM TurBoss: now
11:55 PM TurBoss: there is a branch of probebasic too
11:55 PM TurBoss: or
11:55 PM TurBoss: just editvcp and add the new widget
11:55 PM Lcvette: Ok
11:55 PM Lcvette: Sek
11:55 PM TurBoss: sure
11:56 PM TurBoss: row names will change
