10:19 AM aandrew: heater is under, but the connector they use has legs that can come in contact with the top of the chassis that holds the electronics. not a great design and I didn't notice it
10:20 AM aandrew: have to take that computer apart and see just how much of it is fried. I suspect it's either the power supply or it'll be the motherboard

09:15 PM aandrew: well no it didn't put 24V on the 5V rail (I don't think), it brought the USB shield up to 24V (relative to ground)... but of course that is likely impossible since the chassis of both the computer and the printer are grounded, so *something* gave
