02:36 AM rifraf: finally got a pretty little round nut spanner, from 19mm to 52mm OD in single tool
02:50 AM rifraf: and new belts :) hopefully right size this time
03:17 AM rifraf: finally perfect belt fit, without tensioner
03:20 AM rifraf: and doing up 51mm round nut like soft margerine after trying to beat it 1/4 turn with screw driver and hammer for 10 minutes every time
03:21 AM rifraf: gonna squash this spring and get the tension i need, and add a spacer
05:08 AM rue_mohr: good show rif
05:08 AM rue_mohr: got a callout at 1:30am
05:08 AM rue_mohr: emergency dept doors wouldn't lock
05:10 AM rifraf: good overtime?
05:10 AM rue_mohr: yup
05:10 AM rifraf: this thing is tight now rue, pushed sping to extreme, no way i can move the stock in collet now
05:11 AM rue_mohr: nice
05:11 AM rifraf: and doing all up tight with nice new belt, is fully sick bro
05:11 AM rue_mohr: can the cylinders move it ok?
05:11 AM rifraf: still to see\
05:11 AM rifraf: am sure they will
05:12 AM rifraf: having to machine metal because sping at limit
05:13 AM rifraf: but lookin oh so good, just takin me time, gonna be makin vids on weekend, got help coming
05:14 AM rue_mohr: gnight
05:14 AM rifraf: cya
05:16 AM rifraf: hope spring does not explode, gonna be pushin past closed length, in my theory the cylinders just cannot push past that and all is well
05:17 AM rifraf: as only need to move 2mm or so am tightening everything up, feels rock solid
05:23 AM rifraf: turns out i owe the baby turkeys an apology, was not them in the kitchen, saw the big rat last night
05:24 AM rifraf: so rat trap we got this arvo, about to set, is pre baited, pretty fancy trap, hands free, lol
05:55 AM rifraf: amazed, they actually did make a better rat trap
05:56 AM rifraf: and collet chuck working , both cylinders still on same valve, could double the valves but no need it seems, so tight
05:58 AM rifraf: need to rewire controller switch in morning and will be close to making the servo spin
11:13 AM rue_mohr: ah good show!
12:44 PM polprog: the artifician nitinol muscle project is starting
12:44 PM polprog: ill be making a heater controller
02:44 PM aandrew: picked up an old 3d printer for $50
02:45 PM aandrew: Jgaurora A5S, bigger than my ender 3 back home but we'll see how good it is. So far all the basic functions work out, levelling done, need filament here though, that comes tomorrow
06:24 PM rue_mohr: if you know how to build a printer, its all good
07:01 PM aandrew: yep
07:01 PM aandrew: it's together, I just need to wait on the filament
07:02 PM aandrew: I also set up the little 3020 cnc as well but I have to see if I can find a way to isolate it
07:02 PM aandrew: it's sitting in a rack right now and if I actually use it for anything it'll make a hell of a mess
07:02 PM aandrew: I was thinking just some of that styrofoam board cut to shape to help keep the mess contained
07:03 PM aandrew: and a little shop vac both for air and for suction
07:03 PM aandrew: I have one of those brush things that is supposed to mount to the head but haven't installed it
07:07 PM aandrew: $50 for a fairly stuff and large volume FDM printer seems like a pretty good win
09:02 PM rue_mohr: :]
10:31 PM rue_shop3: https://github.com/adafruit/Uncanny_Eyes/blob/master/uncannyEyes/uncannyEyes.ino
10:54 PM rue_mohr: so, the pipe I need
10:55 PM rue_mohr: I'm playing this the hard way, ordering online from a place in vancouver for pickup, then having a courier bring it in for me
10:55 PM rue_mohr: see if it ends up costing a million bucks
10:55 PM rue_mohr: 🦌
10:58 PM rue_mohr: the pipe was $280
10:58 PM rue_mohr: for 100'
11:24 PM rue_mohr: aandrew, SPI
11:24 PM rue_mohr: 74HC299
11:25 PM rue_mohr: but, PLUS support circuitry, which blows it out of proportion on a crazy level
11:25 PM rue_mohr: so, XC9572?
11:25 PM rue_mohr: I dont know how to do bidirectional pins
11:26 PM rue_mohr: I dont think I can just get a GAL16V8 to do all the junk to operate a 74LS299
11:51 PM rue_mohr: I guess the bus is always wired as an input,
11:51 PM rue_mohr: and outputs are 3 stated
11:51 PM rue_mohr: and trigger into output mode on read
11:51 PM rue_mohr: I should try a simple readback register
11:51 PM rue_mohr: a 1 byte ream
11:51 PM rue_mohr: ram
11:52 PM rue_mohr: blaaaah
11:52 PM rue_mohr: hmm, do I want do to this for SPI or i2c
11:52 PM rue_mohr: i2c is harder
