07:45 PM aandrew: first time I tried it I kept the stainless steel mask in place... looked like everything was going great until the heat finally made the mask warp (thermal gradient) and I had 256 balls up in the air

07:46 PM aandrew: yeah you flux the chip, put the template over BUT NOT TOUCHING or it sticks to the flux, then sprinkle the balls over the mask, they fall in the holes and sit nice, then every so carefully lift the mask and reflow
07:47 PM aandrew: I think it'd work a LOT better with a MUCH (5-8mm) thick mask than the stencil-thickness mask because you caould reflow with the mask in place
