08:01 AM polprog: rue_mohr: thanks!
09:52 AM polprog: rue_mohr: i made a few changes in my version, i dont have rgb leds so i put 3 smd ones instead and added a 4 pin uart header cause i like them
09:53 AM polprog: it's a very compact board, I wanted to add an edge connector but I think ill use an angled pin header instead
09:53 AM polprog: no place to route the traces to an edge conn :D
09:54 AM polprog: and when i need to ill just add a baseboard instead
10:46 AM rue_mohr: the pin header is nice cause you can job in dupont cables
10:46 AM rue_mohr: if you did a dual sided edge connector with the one side ground and vcc it might work
10:47 AM rue_mohr: there are a number of hacking jumpers there, do ask cause their not clear
11:39 AM rue_mohr: polprog, I'd like to see your version sometime :]
11:39 AM rue_mohr: do you have some PLCC 8051?
11:41 AM polprog: i have
11:41 AM polprog: oh damn i was to upload a pic
11:44 AM polprog: https://github.com/polprog/8051recyclerPCB
11:46 AM polprog: lol, github did not update the renderd pics
11:46 AM polprog: oh, it was just my cache
11:51 AM polprog: i didnt add much because there is barely any space left on the board
11:51 AM polprog: but i had an idea that i could make it a clock using a ublox GPS module
11:52 AM polprog: for Time of Day and 1 Pulse per second signal
11:52 AM polprog: use the uart from the module for TOD and pps output for 1pps to an interrupt
11:52 AM rue_mohr: yea it was pretty damn tight
11:52 AM polprog: and make it run some display
11:52 AM polprog: it's pretty awesome!
11:53 AM rue_mohr: hah, images seem the same...
11:53 AM polprog: ctrl-F5
11:53 AM polprog: github is borked
11:54 AM rue_mohr: oh I see it
11:54 AM rue_mohr: hah, its subtle
11:55 AM rue_mohr: good show
11:56 AM rue_mohr: oh right I didn't do the image with parts anyhow, hahaha
11:56 AM rue_mohr: wake up Rue...
11:57 AM rue_mohr: oh yea, you got a pile of 'em!!!!
11:58 AM rue_mohr: a W27C512 flash rom seems to work in my prototype
11:59 AM rue_mohr: oh and yea, green vs purple, where is my head at
11:59 AM rue_mohr: my plan is to use a 90 degree header
11:59 AM rue_mohr: oh I ahve to buy more
12:09 PM polprog: dunno what else I could place there
12:09 PM polprog: cause uh
12:09 PM polprog: the way you routed external memory WR and RD to the headers
12:09 PM polprog: the address bus is there too right?
12:10 PM polprog: i was thinking if this just makes it have 8 output and 8 input pins
12:10 PM polprog: or can i make a baseboard with an address decoder and some peripherals
12:37 PM rue_mohr: yea, I wanted something that just gave me "gpio"
12:38 PM rue_mohr: the perphial chips are what I need to confirm operation of
12:38 PM rue_mohr: I tested the memory on the veroboard, but not the external 244/373
12:38 PM rue_mohr: I'm completely sure it will work fine
12:40 PM rue_mohr: oh drat
12:40 PM rue_mohr: I didn't get a PLCC44 adapter for my programmer yet
12:40 PM rue_mohr: I have a few atmel 8051 it can reprogram
12:43 PM rue_mohr: oh wait, 44<->40, no, hmmm
01:38 PM rue_mohr: https://hackaday.com/2015/10/28/programmable-logic-build-yourself-a-cpld-module/
02:38 PM BloodMoon: rue_mohr: !
02:54 PM rue_mohr: yea...
06:19 PM rue_shop2: drat, if I'd set up options for pin 1 of the 74373 on the output, I could set it high and use a 74273
09:20 PM BloodMoon: Go on...
09:46 PM rue_shop2: for the 8051 board
