04:12 AM rue_mohr: why white?
04:23 AM rue_mohr: I noticed that ALL the christmas lights for sale at the big stores are white, its christmas, want green and red and blue, and stuff
07:14 AM rue_mohr: objcopy -v -I binary -O ihex output.bin out.ihex
09:35 AM VanUnamed_ is now known as VanUnamed
10:05 AM Felix is now known as OK9UWU
10:06 AM OK9UWU: god damnit, i thought that IRC was completelly anonymous and untrackable means of communications... guess not, youtube has started to recommend me polprog' videos haha
10:18 AM aandrew: rue_mohr: https://github.com/monotech/MOS_CPU_Replacer is kind of interesting. Might appeal to you and polprog
10:20 AM aandrew: rue_mohr: why white? I love the simple/clean look of warm white LED lights creating an outline of the roof. Always have. I use warm white LED lights in the christmas tree too. one of my favourite holiday traditions is doing the tree lights
10:21 AM aandrew: I usually play choir christmas music in a foreign language and drink eggnog while everyone else is sleeping because it takes me a good 2h or so to do and it's a "zen" thing for me
10:21 AM aandrew: then the family wakes up and sees a tree full of lights. the kids/wife decorate the tree, something I have zero patience for
06:29 PM rue_mohr: :)
06:42 PM rue_mohr: I got a dropoff of paint sprayers today
06:43 PM rue_mohr: lots of new heads needed
06:46 PM Tom_L: what's it like working 2 jobs?
06:46 PM rue_mohr: hahah
06:47 PM rue_mohr: I went to the bottle depot after work cause the truck is kinda full
06:47 PM rue_mohr: their closed on mondays
06:47 PM Tom_L: got parts to build em?
06:47 PM rue_mohr: repairs
06:47 PM Tom_L: oh
06:47 PM rue_mohr: need heads
06:47 PM rue_mohr: need to make that batch of 10 heads
06:47 PM rue_mohr: but need sleep
06:47 PM rue_mohr: today was hard
06:48 PM rue_mohr: tommorow I wake up early but then will need to work late
06:48 PM rue_mohr: casue on wed I have to start early
06:49 PM rue_mohr: then I'll sand 9 heads and bend them
06:50 PM rue_mohr: tommorow I'll put the latches and links on
06:50 PM rue_mohr: day after I'll do the springs
06:55 PM Tom_L: bender still workin ok?
08:49 PM rue_mohr: ok I'm awake
08:50 PM rue_mohr: yea, bender works good
08:50 PM rue_mohr: it would be nice if it could give it that extra bit of overbend for springback, but whatever
09:08 PM Tom_L: yeah we made hydropress forms with ~2-3 degree undercut
09:08 PM Tom_L: then a big bladder would press against them forming the sheetmetal
09:08 PM Tom_L: that sheet was not near this thick either
09:18 PM rue_mohr: :)
09:23 PM rue_mohr: ok I old told me I'd get them bent, cmon, rue
09:24 PM rue_mohr: (supper is started)
09:24 PM rue_mohr: cold cold cold
09:24 PM rue_mohr: and today,REALLY WET
09:44 PM rue_shop4: 7...
09:50 PM Tom_L: test ran the program again. making an adjustment but it ran ok in air so far
09:51 PM rue_shop4: 10
09:51 PM rue_shop4: :)
09:51 PM rue_shop4: try someheavy wood cuts?
09:52 PM rue_shop4: ok, so tommorow I'll do the links for them
09:52 PM Tom_L: naw
09:52 PM Tom_L: i did notice an odd about the pendant though
09:52 PM Tom_L: it was acting up so i did a watch window on those pins and when i pull up the watch window they work
09:53 PM Tom_L: something fishy goin on
09:53 PM Tom_L: doesn't appear to be wiring
10:05 PM rue_mohr: haha... guess which sprayer is back for repair?
10:05 PM Tom_L: ?
10:06 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1300224.jpg
10:06 PM rue_mohr: :D
10:06 PM Tom_L: heh
10:07 PM rue_mohr: I think this is its second time back for repair
10:07 PM rue_mohr: there are a few completely new heads needed
10:07 PM rue_mohr: one broken handle
10:08 PM Tom_L: how do you figure charges for repairs?
10:09 PM rue_mohr: between $5 and 20 for basic rework
10:09 PM rue_mohr: new head is like 75
10:09 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1300213.jpg
10:09 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1300214.jpg
10:09 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1300216.jpg
10:09 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1300220.jpg
10:09 PM rue_mohr: ^^ some of the wear and stuff
10:11 PM rue_mohr: some of them are from the last guy
10:14 PM rue_mohr: they must be having an issue with rattling - the zip ties
10:15 PM rue_mohr: the other guy was putting some putty in them, hmmm
10:17 PM Tom_L: screw probably doesn't stay tight
10:17 PM Tom_L: isn't there a screw holding the plastic in?
10:18 PM rue_mohr: I changed the system
10:18 PM rue_mohr: yes, it was changed to a machine screw with a nut it pulls on
10:19 PM rue_mohr: the plastic does much better with compression load
10:21 PM Tom_L: well i got it all set up to run tomorrow
10:21 PM Tom_L: redid the program a bit to lighten the cuts some
10:21 PM rue_mohr: k
10:22 PM rue_mohr: aandrew, how did that IR thing with the 556 work out?
10:22 PM rue_mohr: did yo have a change to try my circuit? was it anywhere close?
10:23 PM rue_mohr: Tom_L, oh, I should figure out what the radius on that corner cut of the tube is so I can hole-saw jig makery
10:26 PM Tom_L: would ease your life a bit
10:28 PM rue_shop4: and in the meantime, hexapod robot
10:29 PM Tom_L: ~1" holesaw probably
10:36 PM Tom_L: you need a 1" fostner bit for the tube
10:37 PM Tom_L: getting the hole position for the hole saw may take some measuring. i would cad that up and print 100% on paper then transfer it
10:38 PM Tom_L: put a dowel pin in from the side into the slot as a stop for the right depth
10:38 PM Tom_L: you could even glue that in
10:39 PM Tom_L: push the tube in where it needs to be, mark where it is to the end of the board then measure that to the slot and drill the hole for the slot
10:48 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/rue/Can_Holder/Tube_slots/Tube_jig.jpg
10:49 PM Tom_L: then the tube won't have to butt up against the board but rather the dowel
10:49 PM Tom_L: i have confidence in your measuring ability :)
11:01 PM rue_shop4: I can just 3d print the block
11:01 PM rue_shop4: :)
11:01 PM rue_shop4: I can model the pipe and subtract it from a solid block :)
11:05 PM Tom_L: you get the idea though
