07:24 PM Tom_L: rue_mohr, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDEtsDa2aRk
07:37 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/rue/Can_Holder/Tube_slots/Tube_slots.txt
07:44 PM Tom_L: the back edge of the tube is Y0 now
07:44 PM Tom_L: and i used grbl post
07:44 PM Tom_L: notice it's shorter than the other one
07:45 PM rue_mohr: I can check all the numbers when I get some time
07:45 PM Tom_L: i don't have any 1" tube
07:46 PM Tom_L: the only issue is the bottom small slot needs open space below it so the cutter doesn't hit the vise
07:46 PM Tom_L: the wall is .055" and i went .090" below so it was sure to cut thru
07:47 PM rue_mohr: thats ok,
07:47 PM rue_mohr: so, how does one mount the tube...
07:47 PM rue_mohr: oh the formed thing
07:47 PM rue_mohr: right
07:47 PM Tom_L: Z0 is 1" above the top of the tube
07:48 PM Tom_L: i can move X & Y if you make a U clamp or such for it
07:49 PM Tom_L: Y would need to move a little for clamp thickness
07:50 PM Tom_L: i may see about making something here. today was rather hectic
07:51 PM Tom_L: i would make 2 squares like you did and a U just a tiny bit wider so it clamps the U and not the squares
07:51 PM rue_mohr: I can make something like that shape you did yesterday
07:52 PM Tom_L: 1/2" thick should be wide enough for those clamps you think?
07:52 PM rue_mohr: I can space it to match the height of the current positioning blocks
07:52 PM rue_mohr: <my brain isn't turning anymore today>
07:52 PM Tom_L: i'd just need the distance from the edge of the tube to the outside edge of your U clamp
07:53 PM Tom_L: so i can move the program down a bit in Y
07:54 PM rue_mohr: I'll get the measurements, give me to the weekend.
07:54 PM Tom_L: i just had to do something today or i'd go nuts
07:55 PM rue_mohr: :]
07:55 PM rue_mohr: I need to work out why I'm going zombie so much
07:55 PM rue_mohr: but I just came out of a day where every half hour I was distracted with something else going on
07:55 PM Tom_L: i shortened the leadin to .250 too
07:57 PM Tom_L: you might even put a shallow cut in that holder for the small slot. wouldn't have to go all they way thru
07:57 PM Tom_L: would give it more clamping area at the end where it would buzz
07:58 PM rue_mohr: there was a fire alarm system disable for testing check valves. a circuit with a 2 pole breaker one side ran important lab equipment and the other side ran the break room microwave (guess who tripped the breaker?) and a cafe with a bunch of wtf wiring and a freezer in there with wtf happened to the compressor start cap? and then there was a survey by a company to install a temp electrical line, and something....
07:58 PM rue_mohr: I didn't get some power bars installed
07:59 PM rue_mohr: or the thing with the outdoor light
07:59 PM rue_mohr: details were worked out about a big shutdown on the 29th
08:04 PM Tom_L: at the hospital?
08:05 PM Tom_L: they should know better to wire a microwave to critical lab equipment
08:19 PM rue_mohr: heh
08:19 PM rue_mohr: lets not start the list today
08:20 PM rue_mohr: are you familiar with 70V PA systems?
08:20 PM rue_mohr: its for like, a mall
08:21 PM rue_mohr: the 0db ( I think) is 70V p-p (I think)
08:21 PM rue_mohr: but its for large area systems
08:21 PM rue_mohr: you can reduce the wire gauge and run a bunch of speakers in parallel
08:21 PM Tom_L: right
08:22 PM rue_mohr: so lets say you have a hospital with 20 speakers down the hall, you can just use 18 guage wire
08:22 PM rue_mohr: even if its like 150 feet
08:24 PM rue_mohr: just make sure your amplifier is rated, maybe the volume on the last speaker needs to be bumped up a bit, whatever
08:25 PM rue_mohr: now, lets say, in 1963 you install said system, but then in 1964, you need one more speaker at the end of the hall
08:25 PM rue_mohr: you can just tack it to the last speaker
08:25 PM rue_mohr: now, lets say in 1965 you need a speaker in a room along that hall, you can just tap it into the line going down the hall
08:25 PM rue_mohr: do you see where this is going?
08:26 PM rue_mohr: hint: in 1978, you add a new floor to the building...
10:10 PM Tom_L: maybe i'll see if i can find some 1" tubing tomorrow
10:10 PM Tom_L: you can always shove a wood dowel inside to cut down the vibration
