04:25 AM polprog: rue_mohr: check this out https://www.microsemi.com/document-portal/doc_view/1245185-coreabc-hb
04:36 AM polprog: it's a simple micro core that is used for configuring FPGA designs after boot
04:36 AM polprog: page 23 starts with the interesting stuff
06:36 AM rue_mohr: ugh, nobody can just use html anymore
06:36 AM rue_mohr: oh its a pdf even
06:38 AM rue_mohr: huh
06:38 AM rue_mohr: but, FPGA will load from eeprom all by them self....
06:39 AM rue_mohr: why are they boot loading FPGAs...
06:40 AM rue_mohr: FPGAs take long enough to start up as-is...
06:44 AM rue_mohr: I been thinking lots about the 1 bit processor latley
06:44 AM rue_mohr: brought it back out, its sitting on the desk infront of me
06:44 AM rue_mohr: I had problems with the programming interface
06:44 AM rue_mohr: not sure quite what
06:45 AM rue_mohr: but I'v been realizing that, if you have a system that can basically just move numbers around, no ALU, your fine
06:45 AM rue_mohr: an ALU can be done with LUTs
06:46 AM rue_mohr: I'd like to get that serial loading working right
06:46 AM rue_mohr: and make a CPLD version of the system
06:46 AM rue_mohr: and figure out how to integrate ram or shift registers into the design
07:05 AM rue_mohr: oh, of course
07:05 AM rue_mohr: hmm
07:05 AM rue_mohr: 86 billion neurons
07:06 AM rue_mohr: 86G
11:00 AM polprog: rue_mohr: because you have to configure the IP cores over AMBA bus
11:18 AM polprog: sometimes you cant configure them with rom, but wait for some external devices hence you need a simple CPU
05:03 PM rue_mohr: so their using a rom configurable fpga to configure a amba configured fpga?
06:28 PM rue_mohr: polprog, so, one of the things bothering me about that ai stuff is the itterate-correct-and itterate again
06:28 PM rue_mohr: I have a long history of saying "wait..." {lots of work} "Here is the one formula that will solve everything in one pass"
06:29 PM rue_mohr: been doing it for about 30 years now
06:30 PM rue_mohr: I'm especially triggered when told something is impossible
06:50 PM rue_mohr: polprog, you wrote that network tho, right/
06:50 PM rue_mohr: ?

08:15 PM Tom_L: what are you looking for?
08:16 PM rue_shop3: problem with a debian install
08:16 PM rue_shop3: its a common one that comes up when they mess up packages
08:16 PM Tom_L: what version?
08:17 PM Tom_L: i installed 12 last night on a ssd
08:17 PM rue_shop3: no
08:17 PM rue_shop3: just hold on, I'll put this to #debian
08:22 PM rue_shop3: useless channel
09:28 PM rue_mohr: ok I think they got it tho'
09:29 PM rue_mohr: polprog, I'm trying to see how to write that program
09:29 PM rue_mohr: I'm not in much of a coding mind tho
09:30 PM rue_mohr: I have a few abmitions, but not mch energy to act on them
09:30 PM rue_mohr: and their being drowned by lots of voices in my head all shouting useless things
09:31 PM rue_mohr: I guess I should have some supper
