01:23 PM rue_mohr: another distraction
01:34 PM rue_mohr: building a relay operated 7 segment decoder
01:34 PM rue_mohr: only takes 5 relays, using 6 cause I'm short a few contacts on one
04:47 PM aandrew: my workshop has been reduced to an 8' and 6' folding table in the tiny garage that my car is also parked in. I think I was fortunate in that this garage is "deep" enough for this. With my car inside, I have roughly 10 x 10. sadly only one 20A outlet
04:50 PM aandrew: I decided to bite the bullet and try an SLA printer; Amazon had a hell of a deal on an anycubic mono 2 so that's what I got. it has *zero* remote control ability, it prints only from USB but it's not bad otherwise and the electronics that drive it are basic enough that I could probably make it remote-controllable in future
04:52 PM aandrew: no network down there either although I have a half-assed wifi signal; I bought a cheap power line ethernet thing and it seems able to give me about 50Mbit reliably. I might move the side in the apartment to another outlet and see if it can do better. The option is to try to run some cat5 down the inside of the downspout without being caught but that might be trickier than it sounds
04:56 PM Tom_L: mine is not folding but that's about the size of mine as well
05:05 PM aandrew: I definitely don't want cheap floating tables but gotta be frugal like crazy now
05:05 PM aandrew: at least until I get my green card, then I can restart contracting
10:36 PM rue_mohr: hmm
10:37 PM rue_mohr: aandrew, your position is the start of a lot of disaster stories, I hope this goes well

11:29 PM aandrew: rue_mohr: yep I know. worse comes to worst I can go back to canada
11:29 PM aandrew: no restrictions there
11:50 PM rue_mohr: which mastadon server do you suggest?
11:51 PM rue_mohr: that relay decoder is pretty damn cool
