04:43 PM Tom_L: the hole pulled up so i'll cut that first
04:44 PM Tom_L: you want ~2000 rpm @ 6ish ipm
04:44 PM Tom_L: it melted the plastic and i had to clean the cutter off after it paused
04:45 PM Tom_L: but i was using a 4 flute cutter
05:17 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/rue/pointer/Pointer_2nd_try.jpg
05:17 PM Tom_L: beat that rue_mohr
05:17 PM Tom_L: the cd delaminated
05:17 PM Tom_L: so i got 2
05:30 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/rue/pointer/Pointer_fixture.jpg
05:30 PM Tom_L: held it like i suggested to you
09:16 PM rue_mohr: I got it...
09:16 PM rue_mohr: nicely done!
09:17 PM rue_mohr: I had my disc the other way, the shineys peeled off
09:17 PM rue_mohr: brb
09:18 PM Tom_L: i could have spent more time on the lead in lead out moves but meh, it was an exercise
09:19 PM rue_mohr: :)
09:20 PM rue_mohr: do you have a small servo to glue it to?
09:21 PM Tom_L: not that i know of
09:21 PM Tom_L: you did one too?
09:21 PM rue_mohr: yea
09:21 PM Tom_L: nice
09:21 PM rue_mohr: waiting for pictures to copy
09:21 PM rue_mohr: I just tried doubel sided tape, didn't knwo if it would work
09:21 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/rue/pointer/Pointer_1st_try.jpg
09:22 PM Tom_L: no coolant
09:22 PM rue_mohr: ah!
09:22 PM Tom_L: coolant makes all the difference
09:22 PM rue_mohr: I did 1500rpm, I think it was a bit high
09:22 PM rue_mohr: 50mm/min
09:22 PM Tom_L: no the rpm was ok
09:22 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1290287.jpg
09:22 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1290288.jpg
09:22 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1290290.jpg
09:22 PM Tom_L: i did 2000
09:23 PM rue_mohr: ok
09:23 PM Tom_L: F 6 ipm
09:23 PM rue_mohr: I was on a 1mm bit
09:23 PM Tom_L: did you clamp it like i suggested or use tape?
09:24 PM rue_mohr: I decided to just try tape
09:24 PM Tom_L: maybe i see tape there
09:24 PM rue_mohr: it worked, but it was a snot to remove
09:25 PM rue_mohr: I will try clamping
09:25 PM Tom_L: yeah
09:25 PM Tom_L: use coolant and it will come out with a better finish
09:25 PM Tom_L: the bump on the side of mine was because i got in a hurry with the lead in/out moves
09:26 PM Tom_L: and i didn't close off the tip like i should have
09:26 PM Tom_L: my cad brought it in as polylines so it was hard to find the end for the leadin/out moves
09:27 PM rue_mohr: I'm gonna try to find a stamped cd and attempt one more
09:44 PM Tom_L: you could increase your feed some
09:44 PM Tom_L: but you'll want coolant of some sort
10:14 PM rue_mohr: huh, first one turned out the best
10:14 PM rue_mohr: even with cooling the other ones curled as they were being cut
10:17 PM rue_mohr: Tom_L, I think my bit size is wrong, I'm only measuring 10 thou on the shaft, it should be 16
