01:16 AM rue_mohr: everyone seems to much like the rc controlled servo
01:27 AM rue_mohr: I'm working on the trike
01:27 AM rue_mohr: building provisions for the rear brakes
01:27 AM rue_mohr: so, at work, the care-aids been sticking their fingers thru holes in faceplates of the nursecall system to push the switch cause the buttons are gone
01:27 AM rue_mohr: did some quick design work and a bit of 3d printing
09:38 AM rue_mohr: wow, the potentiometer controlled stepper motor 'servo' post has over 400 likes....
09:38 AM rue_mohr: usually things top-out at 100
10:04 AM Tom_L: +1 for rue
11:13 AM rue_mohr: it was a fun project
11:13 AM rue_mohr: I made a really nice needle for indicating shaft position too
11:15 AM rue_mohr: https://twitter.com/RueNahcMohr/status/1664839090796199937
11:16 AM rue_mohr: The position is tracked in software via accumulating the steps sent
11:16 AM rue_mohr: A proportionate error is calculated and capped, used for velocity target
11:16 AM rue_mohr: A timer ramps the velocity to the target to provide acceleration
11:16 AM rue_mohr: A variable timer is used to time steps, with the conversion from velocity using that math that caps the upper frequency
11:18 AM rue_mohr: I was trying to think how I could get everything rolled into one factor
11:18 AM rue_mohr: velocity and acceleration
11:18 AM rue_mohr: I think it might oscillate a bit
11:18 AM rue_mohr: like, the internal feedback loop
01:27 PM polprog_: evening
01:49 PM rue_mohr: hey
03:32 PM polprog_: im playing with that gameboy thingy
03:32 PM polprog_: https://polprog.net/rozne1/ircjunk/anbernic/lightdm.jpg
03:32 PM polprog_: it runs debian now
03:36 PM polprog_: these controllers for RC stuff, they emit PWM right?
03:42 PM polprog_: night
05:29 PM rue_shop2: polprog_, its 50Hz, 1-2ms pulses
05:29 PM rue_shop2: pwm
05:57 PM aandrew: is it just me or is that gameboy not a normal one?
05:59 PM aandrew: oh polprog_ (and probably WormFood too) - any interest in 2022 ed of ARRL handbook or 2019 ARRL antenna book?
06:03 PM WormFood: hhhmmm
06:04 PM WormFood: I think I have a much older antenna book, but a newer one would be cool, but I'm trying to get rid of stuff. And, I'm pretty sure all that info is available online (but probably not in a nice neat format, like the ARRL book)
06:43 PM aandrew: well thesse are pdfs of course
06:43 PM aandrew: and yeah I have my dad's arrl handbook from like 86
08:45 PM Tom_L: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZEKUREK2HE
09:54 PM rue_mohr: hmmm
09:55 PM rue_mohr: I dont like standing over the pot like that
09:56 PM rue_mohr: mine is supposed to ahve two people
09:56 PM rue_mohr: but I'm alawys alone
09:56 PM rue_mohr: I was looking at some of the other deisgns with a pillar/crane
