04:29 AM aandrew: lol
04:39 AM aandrew: fuck tdd
04:39 AM aandrew: I'm definitaly a fan of writing smal, modular functions and "smart" documentation
04:39 AM aandrew: but writing a million nonsensical tests? no thanks.
04:39 AM aandrew: One of my very first motherboards was an XT compatible that used an NEC V20. It has two BIOS sockets (for two different sized EPROMs) and I was able to program *some* EPROMs with it by lifting the... VPP? pin and doing something funky with it and the write signal. it was a weird motherboard but cool
02:17 PM rue_mohr: no I just mean doing sanity checks on a function before integrating it
02:18 PM rue_mohr: NE602?
04:37 PM rue_shop3: Rue, do backups
06:34 PM polprog: aandrew: hm, you just pointed out something i missed, i wanted to use an ADF4351 but i totally forgot it outputs a square D:
06:35 PM polprog: i also want to build an rf signal gen around it but actual RF
06:35 PM polprog: so, sines
06:35 PM polprog: with modulation as well
06:35 PM polprog: So first thing ill probably build an IF generator VCO
06:35 PM polprog: then use that ADF with a mixer
06:36 PM polprog: I will likely have to build a bandpass for that, and a tunable one furthermore
07:15 PM polprog: this will be a looooong project
07:15 PM polprog: if you want to cooperate i can add you to the gitlab aandrew
07:16 PM polprog: for now i have to fight the power supply board, which as i noticed (theoretically) wpuld blow 2 of its 3 converters upon powerup (making negative bucks is hard for me apparently)
07:16 PM polprog: i overlooked the fact that V across the buck in that topology is Vin-Vout which is a *large number* when you want to convert 12 to -24V
11:23 PM rue_mohr: Rue, do backups
