01:57 PM rue_mohr: hi Rue!
02:54 PM WormFood: Have any of you guys ever looked into reusing a display from a tablet? I got a 9" display that can do 2560x1600, that I wouldn't mind putting to use for something. I can get another tablet exactly like mine, with a bad battery (mine is good), for less than $15, so it's not worth repair.
02:55 PM WormFood: Mine has a cracked glass, with a 25% working touch screen. I can't even unlock the tablet. I thought about connecting a mouse and keyboard, but for <$15, it's not worth the effort. I'll just use it for parts.
05:30 PM rue_mohr: lvds, there are only like 80 types
06:13 PM aandrew: WormFood: sure, you need a HDMI or DP or VGA to MIPI DSI board
06:14 PM aandrew: something like this, but less expensive: https://www.displaymodule.com/products/display-adapter-for-hdmi-to-mipi-dsi
06:14 PM WormFood: I'm aware of the adapter boards, but it's moot, since I can find no info on my display.
06:15 PM WormFood: I'm sure the pinout follows *some* standard, but who knows what?
07:22 PM rue_mohr: lvds
07:23 PM rue_mohr: I dont understand it much, but it seems as tho there are like 2 layers of 3 standards out there and thats it
