06:40 AM polprog: Tom_L: rue_shop3: are you doing all that on raspberry pi?
06:50 AM polprog: wha I do is i blow the ready made linux image on the sd card
06:51 AM polprog: i dont make them myself
06:51 AM polprog: raspi uses a boot partitoon where the 2nd stage bootloader and the kernel image are
06:51 AM polprog: its a fat formatted partition
06:51 AM polprog: there is no bootsector like with MBR, this is all IBM PC stuff
06:52 AM polprog: unless you want to install u-boot for raspi and dabble in boot scripts then find a linux distribution that suits you and has a raspi port, and just dd if= of= the image to the SD card
07:01 AM Tom_L: polprog, cross compiling on the pc for arm64
07:04 AM polprog: ahh
07:04 AM polprog: i was using crosstool-ng for that
07:04 AM polprog: its complicated
07:05 AM polprog: took me 2 days to set it up (granted, my target was extremey unusual)
07:14 AM Tom_L: well i don't know what i'm doing with it so i may never get there
07:16 AM Tom_L: i have local logs
07:17 AM Tom_L: just easier to get to from the bot
07:17 AM polprog: rue_shop3: I have a USB to eBus box that goes on a din rail too. so i just took a DIN enclosure and cut it down so that the pi sits in there
07:17 AM Tom_L: <polprog> this guy here gets an *.img file from lb
07:17 AM Tom_L: <polprog> https://www.mail-archive.com/debian-live@lists.debian.org/msg18104.html
07:17 AM Tom_L: there.
07:17 AM polprog: rue_shop3: for starters it will log the parameters (if any) that are sent by the boiler on the bus
07:17 AM polprog: :)
07:18 AM Tom_L: that one is for pi3
07:18 AM Tom_L: not the same
07:19 AM polprog: it should be similar
07:19 AM polprog: this probably changes:
07:19 AM polprog: echo "raspi3-firmware" >config/package-lists/raspi.list.chroot
07:20 AM Tom_L: gotta run
07:20 AM polprog: np
07:20 AM polprog: have a nice day
07:20 AM Tom_L: have more ideas, i'll read later
07:30 AM polprog: rue_shop3: p1150065.jpg what kinda card readers?
11:21 AM rue_shop3: ...
11:21 AM rue_shop3: hu
11:54 AM polprog: it was some MAXxxxx rs232 converter going to some open drain drivers
11:54 AM polprog: im just curious what was that card reader
11:54 AM polprog: wiegand?
12:48 PM rue_mohr: stand by...
12:48 PM rue_mohr: oooh
12:48 PM rue_mohr: its for LONNG lines for a wiegand card reader
12:48 PM rue_mohr: the local hospital had one in an elevator
12:49 PM rue_mohr: but the cable was too long
12:49 PM rue_mohr: so I made that to convert it to rs232 over the middle of the haul
12:56 PM Tom_L: where to find bootloader binaries for rpi
01:02 PM rue_mohr: you can just download them ""
01:03 PM Tom_L: it would be nice if i can find one in the live build format
05:33 PM splyne is now known as spline
05:59 PM aandrew_ is now known as aandrew
