01:15 AM rue_shop3: ok, sprayer repairs are done
01:24 AM rue_shop3: that only look about a month
01:24 AM rue_shop3: 5 broken handles
01:24 AM rue_shop3: 4 broken heads (old ones that fractured and newer ones that the lip tore out on)
01:24 AM rue_shop3: 2 or so triggers
01:24 AM rue_shop3: one of them you made, the link wire siezed into it, broke off flush and wont come out
03:04 AM rue_mohr: wow those things weigh 88 lbs
03:05 AM rue_mohr: recon the top half is about 70 of that
05:07 AM Tom_L: morning
05:21 AM Tom_L: probably the difference in the 1/16" drill and what you use
09:41 AM Tom_L: drop of lube could help
02:04 PM rue_mohr: hi
02:05 PM rue_mohr: ok, I finished designing up a gear for a fellow with a teletypewriter on twitter
02:05 PM rue_mohr: Tom_L, I cant get the bit of steel out of the darn trigger
02:05 PM rue_mohr: its really siezed in!
02:10 PM Tom_L: press
02:10 PM Tom_L: don't waste your time... they're cheap
02:11 PM rue_mohr: I know, its just that its a new one
02:11 PM rue_mohr: its one of the triggers you machined
02:11 PM rue_mohr: if it was a 3d printed or something I wouldn't have even thought once about it
02:11 PM Tom_L: drill the hole out
02:11 PM rue_mohr: cant, steel in aluminum
02:11 PM Tom_L: i used 1/16" bit
02:12 PM rue_mohr: yup
02:12 PM rue_mohr: it just rusted a lot
02:12 PM Tom_L: throw the trigger away and get another one
02:12 PM rue_mohr: hah
02:12 PM Tom_L: pretty sure i sent you more than one
02:16 PM rue_mohr: oh yea, I hate waste
02:16 PM rue_mohr: pretty good bag of brokeness from that repair batch tho
02:16 PM Tom_L: sry, i'm in a foul mood
02:17 PM Tom_L: moving my office today
02:17 PM rue_mohr: ok
02:17 PM Tom_L: will be down for a while soon
02:17 PM rue_mohr: annoying stuff happens
04:17 PM rue_mohr: notin new
04:17 PM rue_mohr: I'v recovered the table for forming up castings
05:45 PM Tom_shop is now known as Tom_L
06:20 PM Tom_L: ok 95% moved
06:21 PM rue_mohr: break time?
06:21 PM Tom_L: no still 5% to go
07:19 PM rue_mohr: I cast blankes for cylinder ends
07:19 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1240104.jpg
07:19 PM rue_mohr: made a new casting pot
07:20 PM rue_mohr: from an old steel co2 bottle
07:20 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1240077.jpg
07:21 PM Tom_L: work better?
07:23 PM rue_mohr: well, no leaks yet :)
07:23 PM rue_mohr: its smaller, but I coldn't tell
07:23 PM rue_mohr: had to put a lot of metal in there to fill it up and there was a LOT extra left over
08:38 PM aandrew: well, I backfed the entire house with the generator today, worked fine although I kept the AC breaker tripped
08:38 PM aandrew: one of the UPSes wasn't super happy and kept cycling on and off battery but the others didn't care
08:39 PM aandrew: it seems to run a little low (110V) and a little fast (62HZ) but otherwise worked flawlessly
08:39 PM rue_mohr: yup, sounds like here
08:39 PM aandrew: ran for about 3h, outage was ~5 but I wasn't home to connect it up
08:39 PM rue_mohr: I adjusted the freq and the voltage was out, so, lose lose
08:39 PM rue_mohr: I dont know if the new ups I got is online, if so, I can use it as a power cleaner
08:40 PM aandrew: yeah my regulator is a black box otherwise i would have tried to fiddle with it
08:40 PM rue_mohr: mine is a capacitor
08:40 PM rue_mohr: they use the impedence to do the stuffs
08:41 PM rue_mohr: I suppose if I had a wild generator and fed the DC bus...
08:42 PM aandrew: I have to get the natural gas kit installed, shoudl allow the generator to work on lpg, natgas and gasoline
08:42 PM Tom_L: what size gen?
08:42 PM rue_mohr: steam fired, prices on all the gasses are going crazy
08:42 PM rue_mohr: mine is 4kw
08:43 PM rue_mohr: I do the whole house
08:43 PM Tom_L: so do i but i limit what is on
08:43 PM aandrew: Tom_L: mine? 8kW/10kW start
08:43 PM Tom_L: 5.6kw
08:43 PM Tom_L: wire to the welder outlet in the garage
08:44 PM aandrew: mine didn't seem to have any issue whatsoever, although it'd occasionally grunt but I don't know if that is the engine or some load I couldn't put my finger on in the house. Furnace/AC was off
08:58 PM rue_mohr: a fridge startup is pretty heavy
09:43 PM aandrew: yah it coudl have been the fridges/freezers, maybe the well pump too although that seems pretty gentle
10:58 PM rue_mohr: ok, so the tilt and pan mirror is on the shop roof
10:59 PM rue_mohr: I set up a charger for it, 13.6V, 250mA
10:59 PM rue_mohr: I forgot about the idle draw tho, so I'll check on it in a bit and see how the level is doing
