02:03 AM WormFood is now known as Ear-Wax
04:45 AM Tom_L: morning
08:38 AM rue_bed2: mornging
10:39 AM polprog: Moaning
10:39 AM polprog: Im setting up a lab for myself at the faculty
10:39 AM polprog: Got a gas laser to fix up
04:12 PM rue_shop4: hmm
04:34 PM Tom_L: m
04:44 PM Tom_L: 3mf
04:45 PM Tom_L: heard of it?
05:13 PM rue_mohr: 3mf?
05:26 PM Tom_L: stl with color
05:27 PM rue_mohr: huh
09:38 PM rue_mohr: polprog, you havn't doen any stm8 have you?
09:57 PM Tom_L: so
09:57 PM Tom_L: what's up this evening?
10:10 PM rue_shop4: was exhausted
10:10 PM rue_shop4: awake now
10:10 PM rue_shop4: I have an stm8 processor on a light dimmer that was run over from work
10:11 PM Tom_L: what you gonna do with it?
10:28 PM rue_shop4: I was kinda thinking making it flash an led and giving it ot the guy at work that joked it needed a new capacitor (the main filter cap was crushed)
10:31 PM rue_mohr: I'm not completely awake
10:32 PM rue_mohr: I see stm8 in a few places eh?
10:32 PM rue_mohr: lots more than avr :(
10:35 PM Tom_L: i may have had one once
10:35 PM Tom_L: kit sent free way back..
10:36 PM Tom_L: hasn't microchip pretty well killed avr?
10:37 PM rue_mohr: maybe
10:39 PM Tom_L: arm are harder to program
10:39 PM Tom_L: alot more register setup isn't there?
10:44 PM Tom_L: https://embedded-lab.com/blog/starting-stm8-microcontrollers/
10:44 PM Tom_L: hmmm
10:57 PM rue_mohr: yes, I dont think stm8 is arm tho
10:59 PM rue_mohr: I have the compiler that supports them
10:59 PM rue_mohr: and I found a github register libarary with some examples
10:59 PM rue_mohr: I dont have a specific interest in setting up for a million different processors, but this doesn't look like a big deal
10:59 PM rue_mohr: from what I can tell, they use the same programmer as the stm32
11:00 PM rue_mohr: so I have that
11:00 PM rue_mohr: and sdcc (compiler)
11:00 PM rue_mohr: the most work in setting up power (3V)
11:41 PM rue_shop4: huh, the carriers I have are the right pitch (0.5mm) but dont fit them, and the chip has a big ground pad under it
11:41 PM rue_shop4: so, if I'm going to do this, i have to dead bug it
11:42 PM rue_shop4: it looks like i have wire thats small enough
11:42 PM rue_shop4: I think I'd rather play with the u2 tho
11:44 PM rue_shop4: N1NK80Z
11:44 PM rue_shop4: :/ high voltage mosfet
11:44 PM rue_shop4: damn
11:48 PM rue_shop4: oh I think I have some 78L33
