01:29 PM aandrew: well the cone idea worked out okay. I gave 0.5mm wiggle room for the 608 bearing OD and that's a little too much, gonna halve that, and I think I want to give the cone a bit more of an angle but not bad for a first design
01:36 PM aandrew: a couple loops of electrical tape around the bearing gives it a decent friction fit
01:36 PM Tom_L: damn, that's like a slop fit
01:36 PM rue_mohr: my experience is just to not use circular recievers to fit circular parts
01:36 PM rue_mohr: for soemthing lieka bearing I tend to use a castle
01:36 PM rue_mohr: then there is room for a friction fit
01:51 PM rue_mohr: thats a good project to have for when you get older?
01:51 PM rue_mohr: er
01:51 PM rue_mohr: wtf with the word misses?
01:52 PM rue_mohr: whats a good project to have for when you get older?
01:52 PM Tom_L: for who?
01:53 PM Tom_L: i got a couple chip guards to make for the mill since i added the motor to the rotary
01:53 PM rue_mohr: you
01:53 PM Tom_L: maybe the new brackets i did for them will keep them from cracking around the bolt holes
01:53 PM rue_mohr: 5 years ahead, what things will you need to suit the life you will have?
01:54 PM Tom_L: should be retired by then or at least not doing as much
01:54 PM Tom_L: then i'll have more time for projects
01:55 PM rue_mohr: dont sit on the cough and watch tv, you will have a heart attack
01:55 PM Tom_L: but i got what i need
01:55 PM rue_mohr: 10yrs? 20yrs?
01:55 PM rue_mohr: :)
01:56 PM rue_mohr: I'm out of milk, have to go shopping
01:56 PM polprog: evening
01:56 PM rue_mohr: / and rounds/
01:56 PM rue_mohr: polprog, hey
01:56 PM polprog: hey rue
01:56 PM rue_mohr: my twitter is going crazy ....
01:56 PM polprog: why?
01:57 PM rue_mohr: not sure, I think its a exponential thing
01:57 PM rue_mohr: so, whats up?
01:57 PM polprog: not much, i had a busy weekend
01:57 PM rue_mohr: did you get the oscillator link?
01:57 PM rue_mohr: <rue_mohr> polprog, https://www.4qdtec.com/mvibs.html come play...
01:57 PM polprog: im just looking at it
01:58 PM rue_mohr: :)
01:58 PM rue_mohr: things I'v never imagined to do with those
02:00 PM rue_mohr: ok, I'm going out
02:00 PM rue_mohr: in a bit
02:00 PM rue_mohr: need to get dresse
02:00 PM rue_mohr: d
02:00 PM Tom_L: rounds
02:01 PM polprog: wooow
02:06 PM polprog: i give up on the series one
02:06 PM rue_mohr: hah
02:07 PM rue_mohr: I suppose I just have to start from the top eh?
02:07 PM polprog: I guess? but it follows only a loose progression
02:08 PM rue_mohr: ok bbl
02:08 PM rue_mohr: for some reason I'm uncomfortable leaving the house without filing a flight plan
02:08 PM polprog: fight or flight plan
02:09 PM Tom_L: why?
02:10 PM rue_mohr: not sure
02:11 PM Tom_L: should i call and check on you?
02:12 PM aandrew: rue_mohr> my experience is just to not use circular recievers to fit circular parts for soemthing lieka bearing I tend to use a castle
02:13 PM aandrew: what's a castle?
02:13 PM aandrew: Tom_L: yes, I wasn't expecting 0.5mm to be sloppy, I should measure the actual ID of the printed part, I'm pretty sure I tuned that correctly but maybe it needs recalibration
02:13 PM Tom_L: 22mm bearing isn't it?
02:13 PM aandrew: horizontal expansion needed 0.15mm to make printed holes match the file
02:14 PM aandrew: Tom_L: F608 yes, 22mm od
02:14 PM aandrew: I don't need flanged bearings anymore, I was using them to try to prevent the filament from wandering over the end of the bearing before
02:15 PM aandrew: but I have a bunch of 'em, so that's what I'm using now (flange isn't inserted into the printed part, just the rest of the bearing
02:15 PM Tom_L: i've got a box full, my kids like to skate
03:55 PM rue_mohr: aandrew,
03:55 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1210907.jpg
03:55 PM rue_mohr: xy castle
03:55 PM rue_mohr: radial castle I suppose
03:56 PM rue_mohr: if the fit is a bit too tight, the plastic just goes poly till its the right size
03:56 PM rue_mohr: a circle cant do that
04:18 PM polprog: https://thestarman.pcministry.com/asm/eicar/eicarcom.html
05:05 PM polprog: oddly enough it does not self modify when run in debug.com
05:05 PM polprog: which sucks
05:41 PM rue_mohr: there must be a cache thing about how its executed
06:57 PM aandrew: rue_mohr: so basically you give the plastic somewhere to deform into while remaining tight elsewhere
06:58 PM aandrew: if it's too tight I just take the hot air to it so it becomes a little flexible and then it seals up nice and tight
06:58 PM aandrew: why the fuck is that entire website written in comic sans, lol
07:13 PM aandrew: oh
07:13 PM aandrew: that is why it was so loose
07:13 PM aandrew: the RADIUS is 11.5mm which means the dia is 23, it's a full mm bigger than it needed to be
07:36 PM rue_mohr: no
07:36 PM rue_mohr: if you shape it like that it just deforms ok to make up for the error
07:37 PM rue_mohr: if you do a circle it has no compliance
07:37 PM rue_mohr: if you castle it, there's compliance, you dont have to be exact
07:37 PM rue_mohr: ....
07:38 PM rue_mohr: I have a problem with my flyback supply
07:38 PM rue_mohr: the primary will his 1300+V when its discharging
08:16 PM aandrew: that sounds like a big problem
08:17 PM rue_mohr: I'm trying alternate math
08:17 PM rue_mohr: but I got one foot in the door
08:18 PM rue_mohr: I have an inductor that can produce the output power I need and has room for a primary
08:19 PM rue_mohr: ok, I need 146.19 V*s
08:33 PM rue_mohr: ok I'm down to 101V
