03:46 PM Tom_L: https://www.cis.tennessee.edu/americas-cutting-edge-ace-cnc-machining-training-program
07:09 PM rue_mohr: you gonna tak a course to play with your new axis?
07:10 PM rue_mohr: why havent you taken some square stock and made a hex-head bolt with it yet?
07:10 PM rue_mohr: 1870 followers, I dont know if thats up or down
07:10 PM rue_mohr: meh
07:11 PM rue_mohr: its a lot more than 100
10:28 PM Tom_L: service call for rue_mohr: https://img-9gag-fun.9cache.com/photo/aVxQQzP_460swp.webp
10:39 PM rue_mohr: whats a webp?
10:39 PM Tom_L: dunno
10:39 PM rue_mohr: hmm , my computer doesn't either
10:40 PM rue_mohr: :/
10:43 PM Tom_L: so as it turns out 4 sections of the config file affect the speed and acceleration of an axis
10:43 PM Tom_L: my numbers on 2 were way high but were being throttled because the other one was too low
10:43 PM Tom_L: and one didn't have those parameters
10:44 PM Tom_L: now all 4 have them and are below 20 instead of 12000
10:44 PM Tom_L: seems to be a learning experience
10:57 PM rue_mohr: thats for the A axis?
10:57 PM rue_mohr: aka, it came up while working on it?
10:58 PM Tom_L: no
10:58 PM Tom_L: the school thing somebody posted in linuxcnc
10:58 PM Tom_L: the settings are for A axis yes
10:59 PM Tom_L: we figured it should be able to do 2.5 rpm at the head
11:00 PM Tom_L: so what's that in degrees per second?
11:00 PM Tom_L: let's say it can do 2 rpm
11:01 PM Tom_L: because i think that's a little high
11:01 PM Tom_L: 12 deg / sec
11:02 PM Tom_L: so my max_velocity should be 12 because it's machine units per second
