12:07 AM rue_mohr: its not really plausable to convert this code to work with as31
12:14 AM rue_mohr: the origional source is awefull
12:14 AM rue_mohr: instead of using labels, the coder actually wrote in the byte offsets of the jumps
12:14 AM rue_mohr: and I found an assembler called "asl" that works with the old formar
12:14 AM rue_mohr: I was able to side-by-side some modern and origional source
12:14 AM rue_mohr: quite a buckshot of changes
12:14 AM rue_mohr: mixed with a few flip-flops on features
12:14 AM rue_mohr: the orig source doesn't make lots more sense than the decompile does
04:00 AM Tom_L: hi
08:42 AM aandrew: How is the aluminum from hdds when it comes to milling after casting? I think they’re cast/milled themselves so probably pretty decent?
08:46 AM rue_mohr: depends how I do getting the junk out of it
08:47 AM aandrew: I suspect you have to use an arbor press to push the spindle out these days
08:47 AM rue_mohr: no, its blind
08:47 AM rue_mohr: more trouble than its worth
08:47 AM rue_mohr: the steel goes to the bottom
08:48 AM rue_mohr: so I just melt them with the motor in
08:48 AM rue_mohr: some you can remove it seperatly, so I do
09:42 AM aandrew: Ahh, and copper melts at a much higher temp too so it’ll be at the bottom. What kind of crap do you end up with in the aluminum?
09:51 AM rue_shop3: well, the copper alloys with the alum
09:52 AM rue_shop3: I throw copper and brass in to make a better mix
09:52 AM rue_shop3: but the steel and nydinium goes to the bottom
09:52 AM rue_shop3: the junk is bits of steel oxide (from the pot I think) and paint
09:52 AM rue_shop3: sometimes its a problem and sometimes its not
02:24 PM polprog: Tom_L: well i guess ill try to make a jump program
02:25 PM polprog: that just executes 14 nops and jumps to the start
02:25 PM Tom_L: why does it not have any gpio?
02:25 PM polprog: the CPU itself only has UARTs
06:40 PM aandrew: the copper... alloys with the aluminum? copper's melting temp is 2x that of alu
07:07 PM rue_shop3: uarts are enough
07:07 PM rue_shop3: esp if there is more than one
07:07 PM rue_shop3: brass/copper does with alumium, it improves the weathering and hardness of it
07:09 PM * Tom_L wonders if rue_mohr is a metalurgist now
07:14 PM aandrew: rue_shop3: but for it to alloy doesn't it have to melt?
07:15 PM aandrew: or are you running your furnace *that* hot?
07:18 PM rue_mohr: the alumuinum dissolves it
07:41 PM aandrew: ah, interesting. As you can no doubt gather, I'm metallurgically stupid
08:53 PM rue_shop3: no its all crazy rules
08:53 PM rue_shop3: ok, I cast the standoff for the Z on the small cnc
08:54 PM rue_shop3: I need to catch up with tarabell on the eeprom programmer
08:59 PM Tom_L: who is tarabell?
08:59 PM Tom_L: and i need pics!
08:59 PM rue_mohr: twitter person
08:59 PM rue_mohr: coder, runs into lots of issues
08:59 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1200735.jpg
09:02 PM Tom_L: your boxes keep getting bigger :)
09:07 PM rue_mohr: no thats my long narrow one again
09:08 PM rue_mohr: but generally , yes
09:08 PM Tom_L: you're gonna need a bigger pot soon
09:09 PM rue_mohr: the other fellow working on the sprayers works in the hospital in the kitchen, and said he can help me get more buckets for casting sand
09:09 PM Tom_L: cool
09:12 PM Tom_L: how have the sprayers been doing?
09:17 PM rue_mohr: none
09:17 PM rue_mohr: he's just working on stock
09:17 PM Tom_L: seasonal?
09:17 PM rue_mohr: totally
09:18 PM Tom_L: when is the season?
09:18 PM rue_mohr: we don't even expect any more orders this year
09:18 PM rue_mohr: I was doing fire inpection stuff at a sort today and it was dead
09:18 PM rue_mohr: no logs, nothing happening
09:19 PM Tom_L: should find something to offset it
09:21 PM rue_mohr: I work 1 job, he works two
09:21 PM rue_mohr: + sprayers
09:23 PM Tom_L: i know
10:12 PM rue_shop3: ok, well, tarabell got the basic working on the random 8051 board
10:12 PM rue_shop3: and I got the part cast
10:13 PM rue_shop3: still cooling
10:14 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1200736.jp
10:14 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1200736.jpg
10:29 PM Tom_L: what's that part for?
10:33 PM rue_mohr: thats the spacer for the Z axis rail
10:34 PM rue_mohr: there is no room for the anchor plate
10:47 PM Tom_L: will be interesting to see all the bits come together
10:48 PM rue_mohr: I'm gonna make a pile and deal with it over winter
