08:47 AM rue_mohr: I am noticing dalnet is a lot more stable than the other two
08:54 AM rue_mohr: libera has the same problem with servers restarting all the time and I have to keep loggin in
11:23 AM Tom_L: i don't think clog has dropped off libera yet
02:13 PM rue_mohr: clog?
03:35 PM Tom_L: shhh
03:57 PM rue_shop5: well the reinstall on the jukebox didn't work
03:59 PM Tom_L: make any more prints?
04:01 PM rue_mohr: no
04:01 PM rue_mohr: I'll go with the first one, unless it just wont work I dont wnat to be wasting plstic
04:05 PM Tom_L: so
04:05 PM Tom_L: you really should be able to re'melt it like aluminum if it doesn't work out!
04:08 PM Tom_L: i just asked a guy in lcnc that has some casting done and he uses 2deg for a draft angle and mentioned that 1 degree is about the minimum you can get by with
04:08 PM Tom_L: so 5 deg would be quite a bit
04:13 PM Tom_L: he suggested 3 deg for prints
04:13 PM Tom_L: Spray putty first, then red enamel. “Pattern Coat” epoxy paint works best, but it troublesome as you need to mix it and work fast.
04:13 PM Tom_L: then coat them with putty and paint
04:14 PM rue_mohr: he uses sand?
04:14 PM Tom_L: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipOn7cWWtqrXy5lj7bUdFGcKAiX9GDCljX2Xl-ON-Bp-6d3gjhaBo1IKPLjJ0w0WJQ?key=bUFUYjZ6Wl8ycnVEX3d4Z25MREktWW9zdUpsY01n
04:14 PM Tom_L: he has a foundry do cast iron for him
04:14 PM rue_mohr: putty?
04:14 PM rue_mohr: enamel?
04:14 PM Tom_L: probably bondo?
04:14 PM rue_mohr: epoxy?
04:14 PM Tom_L: yeah but you gotta work quick
04:15 PM Tom_L: i suppose any enamel would do
04:15 PM rue_mohr: hm
04:15 PM rue_mohr: I'll dip it in candle wax and see how it does
04:15 PM Tom_L: i bet that would be ok unless the oil in the sand sticks to it
04:16 PM rue_mohr: its not oil sand
04:16 PM rue_mohr: its green sand
04:16 PM Tom_L: ok
04:16 PM rue_mohr: watwer based
04:16 PM Tom_L: just something to get a better surface
04:17 PM Tom_L: anyway i got a late job.. leaving soon
04:20 PM rue_mohr: well the print is rough, need soemthing to smooth it so the sand doesn't stuck
04:22 PM polprog: im genuinely sad i have so much projects on hold because of the finals
04:23 PM polprog: RF mixer, RF modulators, Wyse stuff
04:23 PM polprog: to name a fee
04:23 PM polprog: few*
04:26 PM rue_mohr: you still manage to do a lot of things
04:26 PM rue_mohr: I cant move, so I'm going to sleep
04:27 PM Tom_L: good, be wide awake by the time i get back.. mkay?
07:44 PM rue_mohr: mmmmrmrmmr
07:44 PM rue_mohr: didn't really get any rest, but I'm more awake
07:51 PM Tom_L: so what are ya gonna work on tonight?
07:51 PM rue_mohr: not sure, I'm still not operating properly
07:52 PM Tom_L: what's wrong with the jukebox?
07:54 PM rue_mohr: a drive failed
07:54 PM rue_mohr: and the boot setup thinks it needs something off it
07:54 PM rue_mohr: and i cant get it running to tell it it doens's
07:54 PM Tom_L: how many songs would you guess are on it?
07:55 PM rue_mohr: their on a usb stick, proabbly about 250
07:55 PM Tom_L: mine are mostly on the phone but i never listen to them much
07:56 PM Tom_L: had to convert them all to mp3
07:56 PM rue_mohr: yea
07:56 PM Tom_L: batch
07:56 PM Tom_L: was easy
07:56 PM rue_mohr: everyone got all hot-to-trott about the other formats, its mp3 works
07:57 PM Tom_L: some were in that windows format
07:57 PM Tom_L: dunno why
08:23 PM rue_mohr: aha
08:23 PM rue_mohr: ok
08:24 PM rue_mohr: I have this cpld
08:24 PM rue_mohr: I'm told it will work with my uploader program
08:24 PM rue_mohr: so I need to identify the jtag pins I wired up
08:24 PM rue_mohr: but I need tea
08:31 PM rue_mohr: got it
08:42 PM rue_mohr: ok I need a little 3.3V supply
08:43 PM * Tom_L looks at 2 alkaline batteries
08:43 PM rue_mohr: heh
08:43 PM rue_mohr: I'm not even sure of the tollerance
08:44 PM rue_mohr: I'll do a 78L33 from a usb thing
08:45 PM Tom_L: i had some little ones for something
08:45 PM Tom_L: forget what for now
09:08 PM Tom_L: sd project probably
09:23 PM rue_mohr: I need to go find my notes on how to use xc3sprog
09:28 PM rue_shop2: I'm confused
09:32 PM rue_shop2: :(
09:32 PM rue_shop2: no devices found
09:34 PM Tom_L: did that support cpld?
09:35 PM rue_shop2: the jtag prescence cannot be detected
09:35 PM Tom_L: i thought it was spartan6 only
09:35 PM rue_shop2: aka the programmer searched the bus and found NOTHING
09:35 PM rue_shop2: supported or not :(
09:36 PM rue_shop2: lota work for nuthin
09:36 PM Tom_L: i thought you had that working once
09:37 PM rue_shop2: this is a chip I had in a drawr from a board tear down
09:38 PM Tom_L: the programmer
09:38 PM Tom_L: i thought you used it already
09:38 PM rue_shop2: the programmer works fine
09:38 PM rue_shop2: the programmer says there is nothing on the jtag chain
09:38 PM Tom_L: oh
09:38 PM Tom_L: wired right?
09:38 PM rue_shop2: yea just redid it to be sure
09:39 PM Tom_L: sure it's not 5v?
09:39 PM Tom_L: i thought cpld were 5v
09:39 PM Tom_L: or at least 5v tolerant
09:40 PM Tom_L: especially those old ones
09:40 PM rue_shop2: looking for other jtag things to test with
09:40 PM rue_shop2: its 3.3
09:57 PM rue_shop2: finding random boards to do jtag scans on now
09:58 PM rue_shop2: hey! it found this one!
09:58 PM rue_shop2: JTAG loc.: 0 IDCODE: 0x0140d093 Desc: XC3S50 Rev: A IR length: 6
10:08 PM rue_shop5: oh, antoher 9572
10:09 PM Tom_L: huh
10:11 PM rue_mohr: "TMS, TDI, TDO, TCK"
10:15 PM rue_shop2: huh, it wont detect it
10:34 PM Tom_L: maybe some are locked after programming
10:34 PM Tom_L: dunno
10:35 PM rue_shop2: can you turn jtag off on a cpld?
10:36 PM Tom_L: i'm not sure
10:45 PM rue_shop2: ok I cant find what I'm looking for
10:45 PM rue_shop2: but I found these two
10:45 PM rue_shop2: MoCo makers "Fipsy" V 1712
10:45 PM rue_shop2: if you would like to try to find a pinout, I'll look for this other one
10:46 PM rue_shop2: or not, its a mega128, not fpga
10:46 PM rue_shop2: tho... still has jtag
10:46 PM rue_shop2: I'll try it
10:47 PM Tom_L: you have one of those iirc
10:47 PM Tom_L: i sent you pepsi's board
10:47 PM Tom_L: has a jtag connector on it iirc
10:47 PM Tom_L: 128 is a bit different
10:48 PM Tom_L: has 2 modes of operation
10:48 PM rue_shop2: 2005 by jbutera!?... where did this COME FROM???
10:49 PM rue_shop2: the jtag an immediatly find the m128
10:49 PM rue_shop2: did you send me this board?
10:49 PM Tom_L: yessir
10:49 PM rue_shop2: huh
10:49 PM rue_shop2: I should find a use for it
10:49 PM rue_shop2: anyhow, it proves the jtag
10:49 PM Tom_L: got a rtc xtal on it too
10:50 PM Tom_L: there _was_ a program in it to test all the pins
10:50 PM Tom_L: dunno if it's still there or not
10:50 PM rue_shop2: ok
10:50 PM rue_shop2: why was I the only one not doing this stuff
10:51 PM Tom_L: what stuff?
10:51 PM rue_shop2: makin boards
10:51 PM rue_shop2: ok fipsy
10:57 PM rue_shop2: they didn't connect the jtag lines on the fipsy
10:58 PM Tom_L: https://www.mocomakers.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/ACW17003_FIPSY_X2_SCH.pdf
10:58 PM rue_shop2: thats what I just found
10:59 PM rue_shop2: heh
10:59 PM rue_shop2: all your passwords are theirs
11:00 PM rue_shop2: so fipsy is only spi programmable
11:00 PM Tom_L: yeah i see that
11:00 PM Tom_L: unless you poke some wires on it
11:00 PM rue_shop2: what kinda moron doesn't ateast put pads to them!
11:00 PM Tom_L: who calls a board 'fipsy'
11:01 PM rue_shop2: :)
11:01 PM Tom_L: nuff said
11:03 PM rue_shop2: also, there is hardly and io on this
11:04 PM rue_shop2: they are all about programming it nothing more
11:04 PM rue_shop2: thats why there is no jtag, no IO labels or clear usage, and no wiring examples or information
11:05 PM rue_shop2: this is an fpga for the sake of fpga
11:06 PM Tom_L: :)
11:07 PM rue_shop2: this is a city persons fpga
11:07 PM Tom_L: a no purpose programmable board
11:07 PM rue_shop2: yea
11:07 PM Tom_L: huh i did it, but how do i know?
11:08 PM rue_shop2: I suppose it could process high speed serial streams, not differential ones tho
11:08 PM rue_shop5: I found a power converter for the driveway lights
11:08 PM rue_shop2: while I was digging thru things
11:09 PM Tom_L: better find a box too
11:10 PM rue_shop2: oh damn I forgot to pick on up again
11:10 PM rue_shop2: 5 pin header, 2 pins are ground
11:10 PM rue_shop2: maybe not jtag?
11:11 PM Tom_L: maybe not
11:15 PM Tom_L: bedtime
11:15 PM Tom_L: later.
11:16 PM rue_shop2: gngiht
