12:22 AM aandrew: yeah this esun PLA isn't nearly as nice as the cctree PLA+. It doesn't seem to adhere as nice to itself
12:36 AM rue_mohr: it programmed!!!!
12:37 AM rue_mohr: it should work exactly the same as the old one!
12:56 AM aandrew: I don't know if you guys watch many movies, but "Kinky Boots" (on my plex server) is one of those ones I'd not have chosen on my own, but is actually quite a fantastic film
01:11 AM rue_mohr: to busy doing silly projects
01:11 AM rue_mohr: remapped 44 keys
01:11 AM rue_mohr: I need a 30 pin connector for that beast
01:11 AM rue_mohr: 18 for the main grid
01:12 AM rue_mohr: 7 for modifier keys
01:12 AM rue_mohr: 1 for a pull resistor set
01:12 AM rue_mohr: and 4 for leds
01:28 AM aandrew: 'night
01:28 AM rue_mohr: night
01:28 AM aandrew: hopfully this print succeeds
01:28 AM rue_mohr: tommorow is gonna SUCK for me
01:28 AM aandrew: it's about halfway done
01:29 AM aandrew: sorry to hear it. it'll suck for me because it's 2am and I've got two boys to mind, and they get up at 7. :-)
01:30 AM rue_mohr: I suppose I'll try to get the tape storage to work on that z80 laptop
01:30 AM rue_mohr: I know the cirucit works
01:30 AM rue_mohr: I'm also pondering ms basci
01:31 AM rue_mohr: the z80 version
01:31 AM rue_mohr: I dont know if the code is relocatable
01:31 AM rue_mohr: I assume it is
01:33 AM rue_mohr: there is the idea of the hard drive
01:34 AM rue_mohr: I wonder if adding an SD card reader for removable storage
01:34 AM rue_mohr: I wonder how much ram vfat support takes up
01:35 AM aandrew: I can certainly respect the work that goes into getting that old thing working again, I know there are serious technical challenges and real detective work that need to be done to be successful at it. Never got into the retro computing myself though
01:36 AM rue_mohr: its funny too cause I have all the old design notes
01:36 AM rue_mohr: and yet ARG
01:36 AM rue_mohr: lots of the notes are on things I wanted to add or end up with
01:37 AM rue_mohr: I have a draft of a control panel that is accessed by a key squence
01:37 AM rue_mohr: its project assigment was A-3
01:37 AM rue_mohr: I came up with a system
01:38 AM rue_mohr: letters were categories and then serial nums
01:38 AM rue_mohr: I have to wonder what A-1 and A-2 were
02:40 AM rue_bed: need a plan for tommorow
02:40 AM rue_bed: panic, I think plain old panic will work
02:41 AM rue_bed: arg

09:19 AM rue_mohr: ... paper or plastic....
10:42 AM aandrew: My twitter doesn't translate -- what's he doing there? looks like a keyboard
10:42 AM aandrew: or a button anyway

06:16 PM rue_mohr: hah
06:17 PM rue_mohr: who where?
06:20 PM Tom_L: a day has passed
06:20 PM Tom_L: yay
06:20 PM rue_mohr: did the hydro test!
06:20 PM rue_mohr: the tester and the cage worked!
06:20 PM Tom_L: nice
06:20 PM rue_mohr: the tank even passed!
06:21 PM Tom_L: no leak around the cap?
06:21 PM rue_mohr: no it was fine
06:21 PM rue_mohr: bit of a leak where I attached the nipple to the tester hose
06:23 PM Tom_L: what did you use for the gasket?
06:27 PM aandrew: rue_mohr: you were dreading today -- how did it turn out
07:36 PM rue_shop1: pretty good considering
07:36 PM rue_shop1: not a success, but not a catastrophiy
07:54 PM rue_shop1: polprog, its funny you were the only one to comment on that keybaord
08:11 PM Tom_L: so you got it compiled and loaded on a chip now?
08:11 PM Tom_L: or is the 'on a chip' still a problem?
08:11 PM rue_mohr: I did yesterday, didn't try it yet
08:11 PM rue_mohr: thats a good thing to try
08:11 PM rue_mohr: I need to go shopping
08:12 PM rue_mohr: but if I try to dirve like this I'll fall asleep on the raod
08:12 PM Tom_L: what time does the store close?
08:12 PM rue_mohr: 9, I think
08:12 PM Tom_L: how far away is it?
08:12 PM rue_mohr: before the pandemic it was 9
08:12 PM rue_mohr: its 10 minutes away
08:13 PM Tom_L: are you gonna get a shot?
08:14 PM Tom_L: i'm still in the unsure stage
08:14 PM rue_mohr: i THINK i'M LASTon the list
08:14 PM rue_mohr: I dont usually get flu shots
08:14 PM Tom_L: i could get one now i think. it's 16? 18 and older now i think
08:14 PM Tom_L: me either
08:14 PM rue_mohr: at this point it could be a placebo to prevent panic
08:14 PM Tom_L: that's why i'm not sure
08:14 PM Tom_L: or a control drug
08:15 PM Tom_L: microchip
08:15 PM rue_mohr: I worry a bit about a single man-made product issued to like every human on the planet man-made
08:15 PM Tom_L: i watch kingsman too much i guess
08:16 PM Tom_L: experimental no less
08:16 PM Tom_L: it was rushed out the door
08:16 PM rue_mohr: yea thats rarely a good thing
08:17 PM rue_mohr: rom
08:17 PM Tom_L: watch kingsman The secret service some time
08:18 PM rue_mohr: I need somewhere to set that computer up
08:18 PM Tom_L: and you'll get where i'm coming from
08:18 PM rue_mohr: where the cats wont puke on it
09:20 PM rue_mohr: I have 2 hours to get to the store
09:21 PM Tom_L: it's 10 min away
09:21 PM rue_mohr: but I have 2 days of 'dont want to go'
09:21 PM Tom_L: and how many of 'i'm hungry' ?
09:21 PM rue_mohr: truck prolly wont start anyhow, when was the last time I drove it!?
09:22 PM rue_mohr: no its worse, I'm out of cat food
09:22 PM Tom_L: you should take better care of it. i did mine
09:22 PM Tom_L: that could cause a revolt
09:24 PM rue_mohr: uuuuuugh
10:46 PM aandrew: that's a great movie. a little weird but I like the premise
10:51 PM aandrew: I think the vaccines are safe, I think AZ might need some more study but I'm also very, very curious what their long-term efficacy will be
10:54 PM aandrew: that said, I don't take the flu vaccine, and probably won't take this one until I see some longer term studies. there's a LOT of people walking aroung with it right now which is why I'm sure it's fine, just not sure on the long term efficacy
10:55 PM aandrew: and I really don't want to see some kind of bullshit requirement for this to travel until it's long term effects are studied
10:57 PM aandrew: there's a real history of vaccines needed for travel, but nothing this quickly developed
