12:05 AM rue_shop1: ok I got hello world working on the atmega8 at 115200 baud
12:12 AM rue_shop1: which to do properly requires an 18.432MHz crystal
12:12 AM rue_shop1: next, get the interrupt working
11:25 AM rue_bed2: morning
11:33 AM aandrew: morning. distraction? https://blog.honzamrazek.cz/2017/10/diy-through-hole-plating-of-pcbs/
11:44 AM aandrew: also found this site, has lots of theory and user/service manuals for lots of medical/hospital equipment: http://www.frankshospitalworkshop.com/
12:45 PM rue_mohr: ...
12:46 PM rue_mohr: thought I saw the hand pendant I designed there for a sec
01:41 PM polprog: ive came up with a saw wave generator using two current sources in push pull configuration
01:41 PM polprog: hmm
01:41 PM polprog: it could do some funny waveforms, like a trapezoidal one too
01:42 PM polprog: needs two control lines though..
01:53 PM polprog: rue_mohr: is your tea maker controlled over the LAN or am i mistaken?
02:16 PM rue_mohr: wifi yea
02:16 PM rue_mohr: I didn't want an ethernet cord to it
02:17 PM rue_mohr: I figured the bandwidth is low enough
02:22 PM rue_mohr: ali-expresses suggestion system is quite interesting
02:23 PM rue_mohr: I did a search for 18.432
02:23 PM rue_mohr: thats it, just 18.432
02:23 PM rue_mohr: it brught up crystals, but it threw in a whole whack of non-18.432Mhz ones
02:23 PM rue_mohr: so, by 18.432 it knows I'm looking for a crystal, and gives me a bunch of crystals
02:24 PM polprog: interesting note
02:26 PM rue_mohr: and I'm buying 60 cause I have like 3 left
02:26 PM rue_mohr: not that I know if I'll ever need them
02:26 PM rue_mohr: but if I do!
02:26 PM polprog: i should see how my latest aliexpress purchases are
02:27 PM polprog: can't have too many parts
02:27 PM polprog: worst case, you spend your life selling them one by one for 20c /piece on weekends at a market
02:27 PM rue_mohr: hah
02:27 PM polprog: :-)
04:31 PM aandrew: so waht was the plan with the powerglove
04:33 PM rue_mohr: observe its constuction
04:34 PM aandrew: hm?
04:34 PM aandrew: I won the canada skills competition way back int he day with my powerglove shit
04:34 PM aandrew: only thing in my life I've ever won I think :-)
04:34 PM rue_mohr: ;)
04:35 PM rue_mohr: good show
04:35 PM polprog: oh good job
04:35 PM polprog: also hello MoonyMoon
04:36 PM MoonyMoon: hello :)
04:50 PM aandrew: it was pretty dumb, it was just feeding into I think the parallel port and I had a pair of virtual knobs you could "grab" and "turn" and that turned one of a pair of steppers
04:50 PM aandrew: so from a high school age competition kind of thing it was pretty advanced I guess
05:04 PM rue_mohr: :)
05:06 PM MoonyMoon: whois Mimas
05:06 PM MoonyMoon: woops XD
05:09 PM aandrew: bc telus, they're in your area
05:10 PM MoonyMoon: yeah its another me
05:52 PM rue_mohr: ok, I have a proof of concept for the latest cash cow idea
05:53 PM rue_mohr: if I could just wake up
05:53 PM rue_mohr: what do I do with the cool 8035 board I just got?
06:00 PM rue_mohr: ok, I'll put it with the others
08:24 PM aandrew: what's that
08:25 PM rue_mohr: 8035 is an 8048 without the internal eeprom
08:29 PM aandrew: ah, and your concept idea?
08:34 PM rue_mohr: hu?
08:34 PM rue_mohr: maybe I'm changing topics too quick :)
08:35 PM aandrew: rue_mohr> ok, I have a proof of concept for the latest cash cow idea
08:35 PM aandrew: also saw your custom torroid on twitter, curious why not jsut use a small audio transformaer
08:35 PM aandrew: transformer
08:35 PM rue_mohr: I need an isolated 5V suppply
08:36 PM rue_mohr: that circuit is really nice and simple, no regulation needed
08:36 PM rue_mohr: moderatly low impedance windings
08:48 PM rue_mohr: I'm waiting for the cash cow to finish printing
08:48 PM rue_mohr: it sure would be nice to make money on something
08:56 PM aandrew: indeed
08:56 PM aandrew: I'm tired of trading hours for dolalrs, but it's lucrative
09:51 PM rue_mohr: oh I drifted off
10:15 PM MoonyMoon: rue
10:53 PM rue_mohr: moon
11:11 PM aandrew: I've mirrored that www.frankshospitalworkshop.com site, 21GB
