03:52 AM polprog: rue_mohr: do you have discord?
05:21 AM polprog: the snow is broken again
05:21 AM polprog: https://i.ibb.co/2WVktLq/obraz.png
08:12 AM aandrew: it's not broken, it's ... optimized
08:13 AM polprog: the building was casting shade ther
08:13 AM polprog: but it looks unreal :P
08:24 AM rue_mohr: no
08:24 AM rue_mohr: cool
08:25 AM rue_mohr: no discord
08:30 AM polprog: i was surprised you mentioned discord, so i just wanted to make sure ;)
08:52 AM aandrew: I sit on discord and on slack, irc is still the best
08:52 AM aandrew: discord is just nasty
08:52 AM aandrew: and there are some good channels/servers too, it's just a bad platorm
09:03 AM polprog: yeah
09:03 AM polprog: irc has that zen that nothing else has
09:07 AM polprog: aandrew: what;s your discord username?
09:07 AM aandrew: um
09:07 AM aandrew: anotherandrew I think
09:08 AM polprog: and the numbers? id like to add you
09:08 AM aandrew: numbers?
09:09 AM aandrew: one second I'm opening the program
09:10 AM aandrew: anotherandrew#6279
09:10 AM aandrew: I had no idea the number was important
09:11 AM aandrew: Im in the 1bitsquared, 3dprinting, altium-library, classical thinkers, digital design hq, discord electronics server, espressif mcu, jaynky diy, r/fpga and stem network servers
09:11 AM polprog: for some reason they are
09:11 AM aandrew: of all of them the last one is the worst, don't bother with that one
09:11 AM polprog: wow
09:11 AM polprog: yeah the huge ones become crap
09:12 AM aandrew: the 3d printing one is nice bceuase it's ALL 3d printing tech, not just plastic extrusion
09:12 AM polprog: interesting
09:14 AM aandrew: 1bitsquared is a nice one, that's where the orbuculum people live
09:15 AM polprog: never heard of orbuculum
09:15 AM aandrew: it's a really nice SWD tool
09:16 AM aandrew: basically lets you easily collect data from multiple "streams" over SwD
09:16 AM aandrew: but the biggest feature by far for me is the "orbtop" utility
09:16 AM aandrew: it is basically top for your embedded device
09:17 AM polprog: SWD as in the stm32 protocol?
09:21 AM polprog: The linux/ee classes im teaching as one of the teachers are run over discord, mostly because its a video communicator every kid has
10:12 AM aandrew: polprog: yes, SWD as in the ARM single wire debugger (not just STM32)
10:13 AM aandrew: polprog: sure, and I could see that. I've not used any audio/video features of discord to date, I do a *lot* of zoom, some teams (which sucks mightily), and webex which just feels crufty
10:13 AM polprog: ive never used webex but i can imagine it being crusty
10:14 AM polprog: uni classes are over teams, they are bearable
10:17 AM aandrew: I absolutely hate teams for chat
10:17 AM aandrew: meetings are bearable
10:51 AM polprog: yeah
10:53 AM polprog: programming lecture almost over
10:53 AM polprog: stupid java swing course
10:53 AM polprog: whole semester of knowledge worth $25
07:27 PM rue_mohr: java swing
07:27 PM rue_mohr: wow
07:27 PM rue_mohr: people still use java eh?
07:27 PM Tom_L: apparently android does
07:27 PM rue_mohr: were talking the bloated, memory leaking java, not javascript
07:27 PM rue_mohr: oh
07:28 PM rue_mohr: mmm
07:28 PM Tom_L: oh...
07:28 PM Tom_L: don't miss me too much next week
07:28 PM rue_mohr: ok
09:51 PM rue_mohr: ok i got two more peoples hearing data
09:52 PM rue_mohr: moon and moons kid
09:52 PM rue_mohr: so I need to process all that
09:52 PM Tom_L: what's this about?
09:52 PM rue_mohr: ma's hearing is BAD
09:52 PM Tom_L: ahh ok
09:52 PM rue_mohr: so I made a profiler
09:53 PM rue_mohr: I did 2 passes on ma, three on me, one on buddy and buddys kid
09:53 PM rue_mohr: that SHOULD be enough data
09:54 PM rue_mohr: I'll run it and see if I can work out what the EQ needs to look like to fix ma's hearing
09:54 PM rue_mohr: we worked out that one ear is intermittent
09:54 PM rue_mohr: she took an official hearing test and they didn't pick up on that
09:54 PM rue_mohr: so I'm glad I persisted
09:55 PM rue_mohr: her right ear has a eustachian tube problem or something
10:40 PM aandrew: rue_bed2: my left ear is like that
10:40 PM aandrew: 99% of the time it's awful but I'll yawn or move my jaw and MAGIC I hear amazing again, but I can never get it to stick and no doc wants to mess with it because eustacian tube surgery is tricky and prone to failure
10:41 PM aandrew: I should but my ENT again though, surely they can do something on an outpatient basis where they slide a tube in there or someshit
10:41 PM aandrew: I mean it's clear my ear isn't fucked
10:41 PM aandrew: or the yawning thing would never work
