04:21 PM rue_mohr: cash is good!
04:27 PM rue_mohr: MrTime, are you moon?
04:27 PM rue_mohr: where did moon go
04:30 PM polprog: i think thats moons son
05:23 PM Tom_L: if you want to downgrade a package what's the easiest route?
05:27 PM rue_mohr: dont recall
05:29 PM Tom_L: pretty sure i got it
05:33 PM rue_mohr: what is it?
05:33 PM Tom_L: removed the package i didn't want then pointed the deb to the old one
06:35 PM rue_mohr: do you specify which dist to get the new package from?
06:41 PM Tom_L: yes
06:42 PM Tom_L: http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/
06:42 PM Tom_L: the yellow chart has the locations
06:44 PM Tom_L: damn i need a specific chart
06:45 PM Tom_L: thread chart that shows minor diameter of both internal AND external threads of the same size
06:45 PM Tom_L: they are not the same number due to thread clearance
06:48 PM Tom_L: http://www.carbidedepot.com/formulas-tap-standard.htm
06:48 PM Tom_L: yay
06:48 PM Tom_L: column 6 & 7
07:01 PM MrTime: MrTme is Moon's son
07:01 PM MrTime: time*
07:25 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Thread_Maj_int_ext_Diam.pdf
07:26 PM Tom_L: in case you ever wanna know.
07:26 PM Tom_L: i added the tool diam column for my cutters
08:19 PM rue_mohr: is one of those columns the name for the rod size to use for a die?
08:23 PM Tom_L: that would be the major diameter
08:24 PM Tom_L: also depends on the percentage of thread you want
08:24 PM Tom_L: 60-75 are typical
08:25 PM rue_mohr: I'm working on my get-up-and-go
08:26 PM rue_mohr: I need to clean the deck up more, but its getting to be more minor things
08:26 PM rue_mohr: I should start stripping down printers
08:26 PM rue_mohr: but I should finish my power supply
08:28 PM Tom_L: updated the pdf to include input for my thread macro
08:29 PM Tom_L: mostly so i don't lose it
08:29 PM Tom_L: the middle table is the same as the top just more readable when printed
08:36 PM rue_mohr: hmm
08:36 PM Tom_L: http://www.carbidedepot.com/resources.htm
08:36 PM Tom_L: might wanna bkmark that
08:36 PM Tom_L: good data resource
08:37 PM rue_mohr: so, is there much holidayness going on over there?
08:37 PM rue_mohr: I turned on the rest of the holiday lights
08:38 PM Tom_L: not at this house
08:38 PM Tom_L: we were supposed to go to my sisters but too many others going
08:38 PM Tom_L: we'll have a big xmas dinner here anyway
08:39 PM rue_mohr: yep
08:39 PM Tom_L: kids are old enough now we don't do alot
08:40 PM Tom_L: i signed for a car for each of em and do other things like that when they want something
08:40 PM Tom_L: that was a while back
08:41 PM rue_mohr: heh
08:41 PM Tom_L: they're buying em but had i not signed, they'd be paying probably 2x as much
08:41 PM rue_mohr: I got a bunch of fets from china
08:41 PM rue_mohr: looking thru them now
08:41 PM rue_mohr: no idea why I got them
08:42 PM Tom_L: you had a good reason at the time
08:42 PM rue_mohr: Tom_L, nice deal
08:42 PM Tom_L: ?
08:42 PM Tom_L: cars?
08:42 PM rue_mohr: 50%off
08:43 PM Tom_L: the dealer was happy. i got 3 the same day
08:43 PM rue_mohr: oh I should go check the mail
08:44 PM rue_mohr: ass is stuck in chair...
08:45 PM Tom_L: it's cold out. keep it stuck
08:45 PM Tom_L: i was in the garage a bit earlier
08:47 PM Tom_L: https://www.mikestools.com/Sherline-3074--Drill-Chuck-Tool-Holder_3074.aspx
08:47 PM Tom_L: i'd like to get a couple of those so i can quick change drills easier
08:48 PM Tom_L: i'm looking at making them but i haven't had alot of luck on runout
08:54 PM rue_mohr: hmm
08:55 PM rue_mohr: how deep can you thread?
08:55 PM Tom_L: depends on the cutter
08:55 PM rue_mohr: maybe you can make a male part a stub thats threaded in
08:55 PM rue_mohr: then you dont need to flip/align
08:55 PM Tom_L: wouldn't matter
08:55 PM Tom_L: that's not the problem but i'm not sure what the problem is
08:56 PM Tom_L: i've even inserted the holder in the spindle and held the drill when making holders and they still are off
08:57 PM Tom_L: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QcYX240U2I
08:58 PM rue_mohr: huh
08:58 PM Tom_L: that was after using the carbide cutter below it
09:00 PM rue_mohr: if you do a cylinder with a hole, does the hole land eccentric?
09:00 PM Tom_L: if i mill a hole, it's round if that's what you're asking
09:02 PM Tom_L: it's just never going to be as accurate as a commercial cnc
09:02 PM Tom_L: i'm aware of that
09:03 PM Tom_L: but it's best isn't good enough for making tooling so far
09:03 PM Tom_L: all those stepper calibrations you helped with did improve it
09:20 PM rue_mohr: have you done a lash test?
09:41 PM Tom_L: yeah, i mapped the screws too but ended up not using the data
